I have cooked a few rom ports before and have never had this issue and am having trouble finding any answers online so I decided to make a post about it in hopes that a more knowledgeable person can help me find the answer.
I have compilled a rom which was at first giving me status code 0 in cwm which I have fixed before by putting the rom into dixsidias kitchen and have the kitchen auto-compile the rom for me. Now when I flash the rom everything goes fine in cwm until I tell it to reboot at which point it tells me that the rom might overwrite the recovery which of course is something that I do not want. so I select the option to disable the roms ability to overwrite the recovery and my phone boots onto the bootloader unlocked warning screen and just stays there. It is also not allowing me to start a logcat on my lubuntu box. Does anybody know where in the rom the ability to alter the recovery would exist or any other helpful sugestions.

Hello xda
I've been following the flashing guide for my p3600i, but have hit a snag.
After flashing HardSPL 3.20 and the current radio ROM, I can't flash any cooked ROM's. Attempting to flash any ROM results in error code 270 after 1% and reboots the phone. I still have access to the original OS after it boots back up. I'm attempting this on Vista using the XP drivers for HTC USB Sync.
Any ideas?
Edit: I've read that I need to modify HTC p3600 based ROM's to work on the p3600i, but this information isn't listed in the stickied guide. Is this still accurate, and if it is, can someone point me in the right direction on how to do this?
The guides are up-to-date and have worked for many people.
Have you tried to boot to the tri-colour screen by holding down the power button, camera button and pressing in the bottom soft reset button all at the same time?
Do that and confirm you have Olipro's HardSPL installed properly.
EDIT: I think I know what your problem might be. When you flash a ROM, IGNORE THE DIRECTIONS ON THE PROGRAM YOU RUN.
Do this, AND ONLY THIS don't do anything else.
Enter the tri-colour flash screen manually on your phone (holding down the 3 buttons). when you get this screen, connect the phone to your computer. Confirm you see the phone display Olipro's HardSPL 3.20 as installed, and at the bottom once connected to the PC, USB as the connection.
From there, run the upgrade program to flash the ROM. Ignore the instructions on the screen and keep clicking continue.
That might be why youre having the problem - you need to ALREADY be in the tri-colour bootscreen before running the flashing program.
Good luck!
Ok, I definately need to patch p3600 ROM's to work on my p3600i. I've patched Mary's 3.7 Lite and that seems to have installed and booted, so I'm away.
Edit: I can confirm I was following the guide precisely, but it's a guide for Trinity P3600, not for P3600i. It doesn't mention the required patching (it really should). I can also confirm I have the correct HardSPL installed and it seems to working now. Someone needs to add a note for P3600i users to that sticky.
You don't need to patch anything.
There is a sticky in the upgrading section for P3600i ROMs that have been tested and are working. Use those and you won't have any issues (Y)
I just had a look and at the end the ROM Collection thread is mentioned. You obviously didn't read to the end.

I have EXACTLY the same problem as you.
Also I extracted the official ROM into a folder, then extract the cooked ROM 6.1 and get the .nbf (ROM only) file into the official extract folder and tried to flash. At this point the error says: error: NAND 128 is on this rom where the target (which is p3600i) is NAND 256.
so the structure of NAND is different that's why got error.
I saw the correction is to change 400 to 401 in the name of the os file and bake again. This may help but I don't know how to do it yet...

Um retard did you read what I wrote? You DON'T need to patch anything. Follow the flashing instructions, and IF you read them to the end you'll see it point to the ROM Collection link for the P3600i. For the ROMs linked to in this thread there is no flashing required - they're already done.
Don't call him a retard. I certainly read to the end and but Mediafire was down last night and I had to get the Mary 3.7 Lite ROM from the original Mary's 3.7 thread. This is why I had to patch them manually. The thread doesn't mention that the linked to ROM's are different then those in the original thread about each ROM, hence this is where I went wrong. If I had know the mediafire linked ROM's were different then the ones in each individual thread, I would have waited until mediafire was back up.
The HD is my first WM phone but I would like to flash some custom ROM's to improve the speed etc.
From what I can understand so far I need to use the HSPL to unlock it. That I understand, but what comes next?
Do I need the Custom RUU for cooked ROM's or do they come with it. Do the official rom's come with their own RUU's?
What is the generally accepted chain of events to flash ROM's ?
On a side not, do people usually set the show sim contacts to off as Im finding it a complete pain as no setting ever sticks, it always seems to revert to show after a soft reset.
Install hard SPL then flash with your chosen rom. simple as
Hi tehre, I've been a bit daft. I accidentally tried to load a CDMA rom onto my GSM diamond....my own fault, got a ROM from a different forum and was not used to their structure for CDMA/GSM rom locations...anyway, is there a way to flash a GSM ROM back onto my phone? I used to have a trinity and i though there was a way of entering the boot loader without having the device in the operating system. But not sure how you do this on a Diamond.
Any help would be greatly appreceated, feel a right burk!
just a note, i have actually found the bootloader option but wanted to check I could actually load the rom from this point without any harmful side effects
bootloader can usually be accessed by holding volume up and reset at the same time.
should be able to flash from there - doesnt make any difference to the flash
I rooted my G1 last night and have yet been able to load a Rom on it.
my radio is 2.22.19261
and I do not know how to check what my spl is. also when I try to install the newest spl to make sure I have it Im not sure how to install it since when I boot up pressing home and power it goes to RA-dream-v1.5.2. not sure how to do the update from here.
The 3 Roms I have tried so far are:
-FastTest2.4.1
-SuperD193-blk-WGKv3beta
-MLIGN-HeroV3.3
fasttest and superD get failure at line 59
MLIGN-Hero gets failure at line 80
So is there something I'm missing somewhere and if its the spl can someone point me in the right direction to update it??
Im still researching, but a lil help would be apprieciated and amazing
It shows the SPL version in your first screenshot. The SPL you need to load the roms you listed is in my signature.
You should be able to flash the SPL without problems because you meet the radio requirement already.
thanks.. I was just logging in to say I already got it figured out..
I thought I still had to rename the spl as update and then get the phone to boot to it wick i couldnt figure out how to do after I rooted it.
I booting it to recovery and then choose to Flash zip from sdcard.. choosing the spl I loaded on the sdcard
Works great now.. im testing out FastTest2.4.1 right now
Thanks again

I'm going to be nice this time but next time make sure you read on how to root your phone and install either HardSPL or EngSPL. Do not flash Haykuro's/Death/Danger because you'll likely brick your phone (since your first post has such an obvious answer)

hey guys i have been wanting to hspl my device for a while (see signature(pure). but i have seen that it actually working is very tricky... doesnt always work...
a few weeks ago i talked with a developer about this and he said if you could build your own rom that matches your spl and device perfectly than you dont neeed to modify your device's spl....
perfect for me only looking to flash once... to a 6.5.3...
i had no idea how i should go about doing this until i found this project...
http://ip208-100-42-21.static.xda-developers.com/private.php?do=newpm&u=1915902
using a program called yang...
could i extract only the rom part out of acustom rom and not the spl and fuse it with the official htc original ship rom so i do not have to hspl it????
if i have confused anyone i am sorry or am completely off ... again sorry
however if you have even the slightest of an idea of what im trying to do could you please help me .. and possibly anyone else who might need help
ps. i have flashed many roms on other device for my self and others... always stupidly easy and problem free... like lg incite (took me 10minutes to learn how to flash and to do it and boot up) that thing is a tank ... almost impossible to brick... but it always seems like we run into issues with htc devices and their spl's.... ugh
Check your link as it is invalid.
What you are saying makes sense and could possibly work.
You would just have to find your stock ROM, find a kitchen to decompile it, change some external packages and see if it flashes.
Keep an unaltered copy of your stock ROM in case you need to flash back to it.
