I'm trying to check the CID of my HTC One via fastboot but fastboot can't find my HTC One...
I tried installing Koush universal adb drivers but nothing, i tried manually updating my drivers but nothing (they were already on the latest drivers)
Any suggestions?

Yeah i tried two now, i will try a different cable but doubt that will change anything, i'm using the one that came with the phone.
Edit: tried another cable and still no luck.
I tried doing it with my HTC One X and it worked just fine so i'm not really sure what the problem is
Try fastboot devices and see what it returns. Make sure your in fastboot and not just the bootloader... I know this from experience Lol

Yeah I'm in fastboot more, and fastboot devices returns nothing.
I would delete the installed drivers and download Koushs ADB driver.

Did you reboot between uninstall/reinstall?

Yup and i just discovered partly what's causing this... Fastboot USB isn't on the screen when connected to my PC and in fastboot mode, but i'm still getting nowhere
Are you plugged in USB 3 or USB 2? I found out that on my computer, the HTC one exclusively needs to plugged in to the USB2 port.
My Nexus 7 and SGS3 works fine in USB3.. so not sure whats up with that

Bad news, it fixed itself overnight so no known solution, just go ape**** on reinstalling drivers and wait a night haha.
I'd like to thank everyone who posted here their advice, in the end it fixed itself somehow but i had the motivation to keep trying because you cared enough to post

I thought usb3 has backward compatibility with usb 2.
I believe HTC One has usb 2 port, but it seems to connect ok to my pc via usb2 and usb3.
As regards original question, an alternative is getcid app from play store (free)

USB3 is backwards compatible with USB2 but the compatibility isn't the best.
My HTC one fastboot doesn't work with USB3 but my N7 and SGS3 works with my USB3 port. Likewise, some of my computer accessories refuse to work with USB3 as well
I want to confirm that USB 3.0 is NOT fastboot friendly.
Use a USB 2.0 port.
Hi, I did that commands in cmd to revert to locked bootloader and S-ON:
cd c:/adb/
adb shell
cd /data/local/tmp
./revone-0.2.1 -l
New cmd window:
cd c:/adb/
adb fastboot
fastboot oem writesecureflag 3
But after last command there is a line with: < waiting for device > and nothing happens ...
Does anybody have an idea ? I used revone for S-OFF and Unlock bootloader and everything was successful but decided to go back for stock.
THANKS !
Have you booted the phone into fastboot mode?

And make sure that you're not using a USB 3 port
I tried it once again on a windows 7 laptop and when i connected the device in software update mode there was no ""LGE AndroidNet USB Modem these are the drivers that i found
which program & tutorial are you using to flash kdz?
edit:
nvm, found the topic. disable that LGE modem that you have listed, it doesnt matter the name isnt the same. run windows enabler AS ADMINISTRATOR, and then KDZ_FW_UPD.exe AS ADMINISTRATOR, select kdz and try flashing. it should work.
edit2:
what is that app in your taskbar, LG User Su...? mine is called LGMobile Support Tool, and here's how it looks like.
It is the same, however in the taskbar it is namer LG User Support. I will try your way now and see what happens, thanks
EDIT: okay i tried your way and it says phone was not found
is there any chance that the hardware of my phone may be buggy? or is there any other way to flash kdz files?

well, there's always a chance but i honestly doubt it, as the device is recognised in device manager. can you try using lg flashtool to flash decrypted .dz file? try using this guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2179126 but instead of flashing 10x firmware, flash 20x
the situation is very strange, as i can see that you have drivers installed (and they're on device manager list, so it means that device HAS recognised your phone as being connected, but for some reason kdz flasher doesn't.

depends on wich rom you are using, you should try stable cm 10.1.2 with optimus prime 2.7 using governor :wheatley and scheduler: row
you can change it in cm 10.1 under settings->performance -> processor & i/o scheduler
to access these settings you can go settings-> about phone and tap build number like 10 times

HTC Sync didn't help. I have tried a few different driver versions too.
I know how to convert back to stock. I'm just wondering if everything that needs to be done will work with ADB over Wi-Fi. I can not run any fastboot commands.
I'm sure I can figure it all out. I just want to make sure this is a hardware problem first.

I HAVE EXACTLY THE SAME ISSUE! - WITH EXACTLY THE SAME GOAL: making sure it's hardware issue (hopefully not!)
Working:
Fastboot (AC)
Fastboot (USB) - can even execute some commands, etc...
Not working:
USB to pc when on (including ADB)
AC Charging when on. - only charges ( intermittently ) when off, and I just found out it charges ok in fastboot mode)
I don't think our problem is a hardware issue.
How mine started:
used to charge/sync fine, till one day it decided to go crazy (the car-mode/landscape issue, reporting "not charging when in USB OTG mode")
I believe it's got something to do with USB debugging, coz I disabled that, then it worked fine for a few ours, then it stopped charging till now.
If we by any chance find a way to fixed the firmware related to the USB drivers and charging, it might fix the bug.
This is why (I believe) just flashing a new rom / resetting didn't work.
Other things I've tried:
(1) cleaning the usb port and cable with an unused toothbrush (and a tiny bit of alcohol / methylated spirit, let to dry) - worked for a little while
(2) re-calibrating the battery:
(a) using apps for rooted phones - didn't fix
(b) the HTC support way according to the chat guy (press power+VolUp+VolDown for 2 minutes and reboot) - didn't fix
(c) the android central way (pressing power+volume up) for 30 seconds - didn't fix
(d) getting a 3rd party battery calibrating app from the android market (requires root and SU) - didn't work
(3) Factory reset - didn't fix
Now I've just hit a brick wall:
Can't use rumrunner, coz it doesn't support ADB over WiFi, and aren't planning to do so - beaups himself told me that! see this link:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=48996304#post48996304
So that means we have to find another way to get S-off so that we can do what's posted here in this post:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2541082&highlight=not+charging
OR to be able to flash USB related custom or stock kernels - which might fix our USB issue (example here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2592412 )
I hope that helps... we are in this TOGETHER!!!

The thing is my phone isn't going crazy. I'm not having any flaky problems. Everything else works 100%. Even my MHL cable works. Just no OTG, ADB/fastboot, and can't mount my phone to any PC. I have run a few stress tests and they pass.
I just need a way to get s-on back and flash a correct CID. Outside of that I can get back to 100% stock and return it.
I don't know how these two are related, bit I think it's got something to do with my simcard slot.
I manually sliced my microsim form a normal one, and some extra contacts were cut off, and were contacting the sim tray? - anyways, my phone started charging recently from time to time, and this occurs more when i keep my other proper micro sim. I cleaned/brushed the contacts of my locally sliced sim, and it is continuing to charge as we speak. I just thought i put this out there. No harm in trying it yourself...

Hello all,
I recently installed Mondified (4.2.2 version) to my Z1, and then last night had a sudden urge to upgrade to a 4.3 or 4.4 based custom ROM.
I first copied the custom ROM zip file to USB, then used an OTG cable to plug into my Z1. I then did a factory wipe, so I could install the ROM, but then received an error while installing.
I then decided to go back to stock using the FlashTool provided by Sony, so installed everything (drivers, flashtool etc...), and reboot my phone. Now I cannot go into the recovery mode, and I also cannot flash my Z1, because it is caught in a boot loop.
What can I do from here? I cannot type in the ADB commands, since it's in an eternal recovery loop, and I also cannot access the custom recovery for some reason... I recently bricked my HTC One, and now I'm fearing the worst
Hello there. You said bootloop, didn't you? Fortunately, you're a bit lucky here. The device just refuse to boot, which mean you can flash kernel from fastboot. First question, do you feel a vibration after long press power + volume up button? Do see red led flashing?
Sent from my C6903 using Tapatalk
Hi, it goes from "SONY" --> reboot --> "SONY" like that over and over. I deleted the OS (factory wipe), but for some reason I cannot go into recovery mode.
When I long press power + volume up, I get 3 vibrations, but no lights or led flashing. Right now it's not even showing the "SONY" logo.
Thank you,
John
-On a side note-
I am willing to send $100 to whoever can fix my Z1, and another $100 to whoever can help fix my HTC One. If the same person helps to fix both phones, I'd be willing to pay him/her $250 USD total (all via paypal gift)
I work at a fortune 500 company so my word is my promise, plus I would be negating a lot of monetary loss if I cannot resolve the brick issue!

Basically, I did a very stupid thing.
First: I had a custom ROM installed (Android version 4.3)
Second: I decided to upgrade to Kitkat 4.4 via OTA.... I used to be an Apple user, and it was much simpler with iphones... Naturally this was a big mistake.
Symptom: The phone is stuck at Google Logo. BTW, this is the HTC One Google Play Edition. The one thing that gives me hope, is when I boot the phone and press Power button + Volume Down, I'm taken to the bootloader menu. However, I have trouble getting my computer to recognize the device, when I try to push a custom recovery to my phone. (I forget how I deleted the custom recovery, but it's not there anymore)
Have you tried to another computer? Using Linux is a good choice if your PC didn't recognize your device.

Try to find any stock kernel with recovery mode, like CWM. Then flash it via fastboot.

Hi guys I'm new to this site and I'm very new to android I was giving a htc one M7 that my friend said he could get to work he said it was work then one day it turned off and would charge it brings up the charge logo when you put it in but the you get a battery with a RED ! In there and it just flashes I left it for a good while and I actually came up with 2% after leaving for ages in read a lot about it been a calibration problem but i tried to hold down the power button and the up and down volume button but all I get is the fast boot menu can someone please help me as I'm sure it can be a problem that can be fixed as I no it's doing something ps this is a UK model on 02 can someone help out Id be great fully appreciated sorry of Iv posted this in the wrong post it's my first post and you guys look like you know what your talking about

Is....is that ONE sentence? I know you're new here, but if you want people to be able to accurately help you, you need to punctuate so we know what you're saying.
ANYWAY, If you can access the bootloader all is not lost. Have you got adb installed on a pc (windows 7 preferably)? If you do, plug your phone into the computer while in fastboot post the results of the command "fastboot getvar all" and edit out your serial number and imei. From there we might be able to find and run the correct ruu for your device. That might help recover the phone to a working state.

Yes, you can run the commands on a Mac. This post FAQ #3 will explain the syntax. You will need if you don't have them already is the ADB and Fastboot programs. I'm not familiar with the Mac so I don't know how it works on the Mac. The download site will have instructions.
Thank you I'll get that up and running. I also mite be able to get my hands on a windows laptop may work tonight but I'll post a reply with the results of the search thank you again
Hey guys Iv tried on two different computers now but I don't no if it's because the phone is in fast boot but it will not install the drivers for the phone correctly
Do any of you guys know where I could directly install the drivers for the phone from Iv tried downloading htc sync but that didn't work

Follow this procedure to correctly installed HTC drivers on your PC:

If not, follow this guide (thanks to nkk71):
originally from @nkk71: [GUIDE] [02-MAR-2014] nkk71's SuperGUIDE to returning 100% back to stock
follow the below instructions to fix
Open "Device Manager" -> select the unknown "One" -> right-click -> "Update Driver Software ..." -> "Browse my computer" -> "Let me pick" -> "Android USB Devices" -> select "My HTC ..." -> install that
just in case, HTC Drivers can be found here: [Drivers] HTC Drivers for Windows - Several Versions (credits to @mdmower)
though you should already have them since you have been using your phone anyways
for those who like a visual guide:
okay so I did a fastboot boot command, and as you can see it didnt install correct driver
Open "Device Manager"
there's the culprit
right click and Update Driver Software
select Browse my computer for driver software
select Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer
select Android USB Devices
select My HTC ... (if you have more than one version, choose the latest)
warning, select Yes
successful installation
now it looks better
and can confirm:
Code:
C:\ADB3>[B]adb devices[/B]
List of devices attached
HTxxxxxxxxxx recovery

It still comes up at unknown device when I connect regardless maybe I should try install it on another computer but I'll install android SDK and htc sync first or is that not the right way to go
Hey guys I'm not sure if Iv made some progress i read somewhere that someone left there's on charge for 4 days and that then calibrated the battery.
When I normally put it on charge the red light flashes at a normal pace and a normal brightness then when the battery logo comes up with the red ! It flashes faster but dimmer.
This morning I thought I'd try a different plug in the wall as mine isn't a htc plug it was a Samsung s3 charger. someone said to try charger it fast with my iPad charger so I used my plug in the wall and my lead left it for two hours and it actually looks like it is charger better the red light is flashing but it's flashing at a normal pace and normal brightness but I don't want to try turn it on incase it starts all over again.
What should I do guys should I just leave it will it try turn itself on or will it just charge
Typically the led will turn solid when charging and the phone will show a battery icon on the screen. Leave it to charge for a while longer see what happens. If nothing changes, turn it on again and try the steps we suggested in this thread.
Still nothing but a blinking light Iv orderd another battery to see if that makes i change altho been told this is a new battery because now it won't charge I can't even get back into HBOOT menu because it's that flat

Is your computer detecting your phone now? it's best not to have HTC sync installed at all as it will interfere with fastboot but shouldn't effect the drivers. You can uninstall HTC sync and leave the drivers installed.
If all else fails use Linux if Linux doesn't detect your phone nothing will. You can boot it from a live usb pendrive from a Mac or PC without altering the main os installed on the computer in any way.

Hey guys, hope someone can help me here. I got a Kindle Fire HD "7 (2012), and last year I couldn't use it anymore because it kept freezing whenever I try to open the apps or home (it is not rooted). My power button isn't working anymore (broken) and the only way to open my kindle is when i plug it to charge. I finally got the Fastboot cable that I have ordered online (it took awhile because I live in South East Asia and can't find it anywhere) so I'm hoping i could restore my Kindle to factory settings (just delete everything) so I could use it again. Is it safe to use this recovery tool with my kindle? Is it safe to plug the Fastboot cable even if the battery is dead or if the kindle is open?
Please, if someone can answer my questions, you can save me from heartbreak.
XDA guys, I was able to turn off my Kindle Fire HD 7 (2012) without the power button since it's broken, by removing the battery, it's the only option i got left -- while I was charging the device it turned on and displayed Provisioning Fail --- so I removed the battery, then now it's off, I plugged in the fastboot cable - I've downloaded the KFHD tools here on the site - so then it went to Fastboot.
Now I opened the SR Tool file -- then selected 3 (restore only to stock) but after I did that it only said <waiting for device> ,, that means that the computer is not recognizing the device? is that correct? What should I do? My device is unrooted, I don't know what to do to make the computer recognize the device. Please anyone - I'm clueless about all these stuff when I first came here on xda. Help a total noob like me please.

Hi! I've watched the video and downloaded the tools... but, my computer can't seem to read the Drivers that were supposed to be installed so the Kindle would be readable. I've tried another laptop and it was the same (both laptops are 32bit Windows 7).
Do you happen to know the problem? Are the drivers link updated? Or they only work for 64bit computers?

Uninstall all Amazon Kindle drivers, reboot your computer, then reinstall the drivers and try again.

Hi! Here let me show you what happens when I try to install the Kindle Fire drivers
First, here's the application.

Then the setup (usually gets stuck right there -- never fully loading to 100%)
After the 'installation' this pops up saying it was successful
Then this...
I clicked the Details and here it is...
What do you think went wrong here? Corrupted Driver? I have at least two driver applications (same kindle drivers from different websites) downloaded.
Tried to uninstall and reboot, same thing happens.
