How do you repair the screen? Is there a way to send it into HTC for it to be repaired? It just fell out of my pocket and got cracked in the bottom left hand corner and I need a way to fix it. Thanks.

Get in contact with HTC in your country to arrange repairs. Right now parts for the HTC One will be limited and phone repair shops will have to wait until HTC One parts are more available. Your best bet is to send it to HTC for repairs.

I just dropped my phone. Smashed the screen. I'm wondering how many people have attempted to get the screen fixed for how much. Or if I should do it myself.
Such a bummer. Still owe 200$ on it to.

either use insurance or contact htc for repairs. i hear htc is actually pretty cool about it and doesn't charge a whole lot

I replaced my digitizer screen. It wasn't that complicated but it does take time.
I recommend parts4repair.com they sell parts for all brands of smart/superphones out there right now. I broke the screen on my Incredible S, well the digitizer. Got a new one for $20 CAD. replaced it myself (did take a month to ship) and was good to go. Parts were great, got a little tool kit with all the wee torx bits. Check it out!
Ii already voided warranty with s-off
There's a guy in my city that will replace digitizer for 90 can or 130 if LCD is cracked also.

He says it will take 1-3 business days. I assume cuz he has to get the part

I work at a repairshop and I have done several digitizer replacements on the VIVID, its a little tricky since you will have to lift up the upper part of the LCD, or remove the LCD entirely. Doing so increases the chance of you breaking the LCD and then you will have to replace both screens. If you dont have a good heat gun and the right tools, you should take it to someone with experience.
I watched a tear down. While a probably could do it. I think your right. I'll just pay to get it fixed.

Yeah Nevermind, screens from the source are expensive. I'm used to seeing small charges from the usb ports dying out of warranty not screen repair

I have a faulty speaker and some gaps on the side of the phone. If I bring it back to the shop where I bought it (phones4u), will they offer me a replacement or they will send it to repair? The phone is 4 months old. thanks :}

They'll usually offer you a repair for starters generally.
Unless the hardware problem is classified as irreparable during the examination process, it would be a replacement.
So it's hard to tell really.

I bought a Butterfly S off eBay and was loving it until I managed to damage the SIM card connection by getting simcard stuck and pulling it out with tweezers. DOH!!! :'(
It wouldn't recognise any SIM card at all after.
I have had it at a local repair place for a couple of months. They can't get hold of the part and I'm gutted.
I was hoping anyone of you lovely guys and girls could give me any advice?
Thanks in advance.

They won't accept it in the UK as it's not a UK phone. I would have to send it to Taiwan apparently. Plus I would have to pay for the repairs.
I was hoping someone knows how to get it fixed here in the UK.

wow that really sucks =/
That's strange as I thought HTC North America can fix it, didn't think Europe would be any different. Tech support told me to contact RMA department to see if my headphone amp was faulty, but I didn't bother.

Yeah I thought that too. They told me I could send it to either Taiwan or the states. Not sure what to do.

Its a global device, so it can b fixed at any htc repair facility. I had just got mine repaired, dead pixel, and it was freezing up. When i initially contacted htc, they tried telling me the warranty was no good! Lol. I called back an hour later, and they wrote up a ticket, and i sent it in for repair. It took about 2 and a half, maybe 3 weeks, i just got it back. Brand new! They replaced everything almost. I had dropped it, and there were a couple scuff marks on it, plus the screen had a few light scratches. Not anymore. They replaced the screen, and everything. Its mint condition again! There was a 20 fee for the global warranty. But oh well.
My suggestion, send it to the states, to a friend, have them get it fixed through htc repair and send it back to u. Good luck man.

Does anyone here have experience with getting a cracked screen replaced? The device I'm talking about should still be under warranty (it's 1 and a half year old) and was bought via Amazon. Should I send it back to Amazon or directly to HTC?

Some more information... The device is still on stock, no unlocked bootloader, nothing.

If you cracked the screen yourself, then no warranty will cover it.
The point is that I didn't do so, it broke inside the pocket of a jacket. It's only one crack going from one side to the other.

That is still considered your fault. If you had received it that way, you could have turned it in.
I'll try to return it to HTC and see what happens. I'll post my result right here.
Sorry for the late reply, but I decided to repair the phone on my own and just ordered a digitizer / touch screen panel. Will be a bit tricky, but I've already done it with another phone.
So like 2 months ago I dropped my m8 and broke the LCD screen. I returned it to a stock Rom and put it back to s on before I sent it back to get fixed. HTC refused to fix it because of "warranty" issues. So does HTC replace broken LCD screens or just cracked glass? Or did they notice my phone had the harken karmen firmware?
Should of taken it to Sprint

Why take it to Sprint when the HTC Advantage program should replace a damaged screen at no cost? Even if he has Total Equipment Protection from Sprint it will still cost $150 to get a replacement device (through Asurion). It would be one thing if his phone had a hardware issue that caused the screen to mess up but his issue was physical damage due to the phone being dropped.
