Today I was taking photos which worked fine. When I went to ZOE mode, it seemed like the shutter button was being ignored and the focus was changed to behind where the camera icon was. Zoe photos were not taken. I tried video mode, but that crashed the camera app after about 6seconds. I stopped the camera app manually several times, and just now have done a factory reset on the HTC One. Working again, but its a real pain if this happens again in the future. Has anyone heard of this issue?

Were you running any special roms with camera tweaks? I had that happen a few weeks ago with an older trickdroid rom but then I upgraded to the latest and it was fixed...
Stock std release Rom for Canadian Rogers HTC one.
hmm.. I guess not

Hi
My daughters HTC One has gotten a strange problem: When starting the camera app the screen is stuck on whatever the camera is pointed at when the app is started. The camera seems to be working though. When pressing the button to take a picture a picture is actually taken. A picture of what the camera now is pointed at. The screen however still displays the initial image.
I've tried several things: Cleared the app's cache and data, reset camera settings and of course rebooted the phone. No dice
The phone is *not* rooted and has all the updates installed running Android 4.4.2.
Can anyone help me...
Thanks in advance
Recently my m7s camera has been buggy. When taking a picture with the front or back facing camera the viewfinder doesn't update, it shows the first image from when the camera app was opened or when the cameras are switched. Videos work but there is a slight moment of a frozen image at the beginning of the video, another mention is before a video it says anther app is using the camera and is being terminated now, I don't know if this means I have a virus or if it is just a bug. I'm not rooted.
Any support would be appreciated.
When I use the front facing count down it takes a picture like normal I'm real time but the viewfinder doesn'tuupdate, it happens in every app that uses the camera so I'm not sure if it is hardware or software that's the problem.

erase cache/dalvik cache and see if the problem persist, if yes try a factory reset. If the issue still there after a factory reset its probably an hardware problem.
I am having a problem with my HTC one M7 (Rogers) . I am running Android Revolution HD 84.0 (and I have tried the last couple versions without any change in the problem). When recording video the colour information seems to be horribly skewed relative to the brightness data. The screen shows the video properly, the problem is only visible when playing back the video. Here is a video of the problem, and yes I see the irony in using a broken camera to record a video of another broken camera:
It looks like it is either reading a bunch of garbage data before the colour data, or starting partway through the colour data and reading off into another section of memory (I don't know if it is read top to bottom or bottom to top).
I tried changing ROMs and cycled through the last few versions of ARHD without any change in behaviour. I did a factory reset and there was no change. I am not sure what provoked the problem as I don't frequently review my videos so I don't actually know when it started but it was in the last 2-3 months.
My hope would be that the next step is to re-flash the camera firmware but I haven't any idea how to do that on this phone or where I would obtain camera firmware.
Has anybody run into this before? What should I try next?
After some searching I see 2 other people have had this problem with no solution:

This is a known issue with the HTC Camera App. Not a Rom issue or an problem with your camera.
Recording at 1080x720 works fine. It was something to do with HTC implementing the eye experience on the M7 Camera app. You can replace the camera app with an older one but you will lose the eye experience. Or record at 1080x720

I wish known issues like this were better disclosed - I could have avoided wasting people's time.
You seem to be correct, I have changed to the google camera and it seems to be working properly.
Cappy had 2.3.5 rom, I picked it up with the cam not working. Reset, re-installed stock cam, cleared data, tried different cam apps even replaced camera hardware still no luck. Just now rooted, updgraded to CM10, everything is great but cam problem persists in both photo and video modes.
BTW Cam loads, you can see menu buttons on both sides + shutter. However, screen view finder is black. If you press shutter it hangs then resorts to home screen.
I thought upgrading to a newer rom would fix it. I am stumped now. What else could I do now or is the cam hosed?

Hi all,
Been very happy with my p20 pro in the 6 months I've had it. The last few days I have noticed that all of the photos I have taken in the default camera app are corrupted. Any photo I take corrupts and won't open. When I try to open them in gallery it just says loading forever and if I try to send them in WhatsApp you get the gray box with an icon inside.
If I take a photo with a different camera app or by WhatsApps camera then the photos are fine.
I installed the 9.0 update recently but think it worked fine for a few days before this issue came up.
Anyone else experienced this?
Yep this thing appeared to me today, and its starting to get annoying as ****, not only that, the HDR mode sometimes save a picture with green stripes, for some reason also the camera crash every then, ill be doing a factory reset today, something may be wrong after updating to pie, since i didnt have any of those problems before.
I've another problem in which the pictures taken in portrait has green lines in the bokeh area after which the camera app crashes... After a restart it didn't appear yet.
