Screen Freezes, Blank Screen, and Half Screen Freeze when Rotating - 7" Kindle Fire HD Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I've come across an odd problem recently when rotating my Kindle from portrait to landscape or vice versa. Sometimes the screen will go completely blank, or freeze, or half of the screen will freeze with no buttons operable. The problem is resolved by either waiting about 15 seconds for the Kindle to correct itself or by going back to its original position i.e. from portrait to landscape and back to portrait.
I have a Kindle Fire HD which has been rooted using the following guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2069117. I've also installed GO Launcher EX using this method http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2069668. The problem seems to occur primarily when using Go Launcher EX but still occurs from time to time in the default Kindle launcher.
One more note, I've tried to replace default keyboard with the Jelly Bean Keyboard from Google Play following this method http://www.blog.jasonfc.com/2011/12/how-to-install-alternate-keyboard-apps.html. I have since reverted back to the default Kindle keyboard due to sizing issues.
Any help regarding this problem would be greatly appreciated.

[Q] AOKP build31 - screen auto rotates for long press

Hi, I recently installed AOKP build 31 (did a full wipe before install). When I tried to add apps to home screen, the screen auto rotates when long pressing the apps. It is quite annoying because I am not able to select any app. It also happened when I tried to add widget to home screen. Anyone had the same problem?
OK, problem solved after a reboot
Screen auto rotates
Just installed build 31 after a full wipe as well last night. The screen may have moved slightly on the 1st icon I attempted to place on the home page, but it didn't appear difficult to resolve. I simply selected the icon again and moved it to the page/screen I originally intended to place it on.
My home screen didn't rotate at all when I attempted to place a second icon/widget on the page. Unless I'm missing the scope of your question, you may have to simply try with additional apps until you master the timing of it all.

Had the same problem here and reboot fixed as well.

Same here, but a reboot fixes it. It's a problem with the launcher, not the rom. Switch to nova launcher to fix it.

Notification and button location

Hopefully those who already have theirs in-hand can confirm, but is the N7 interface setup like a phone as opposed to a tablet? I preordered a 16gb right away but now I'm worried the interface is going to drive me nuts. I have been using a couple different 7" tablets with HC since they first came out and I like the bottom right location for notifications and left for the buttons.
I also noticed in a couple videos that the launcher seems to only be in portrait orientation. I almost exclusively use my tabs in landscape. I've tried to use portrait on some older GB 7" tabs but I just don't like it.
I need to decide soon if I want to cancel. I'm sure Nova Launcher will fix the Landscape launcher issue, but it won't address the notifications and button locations.

[Q] I can't get back to default carousel

Hi, this is my first post because I'm pretty frustrated. I have a rooted Kindle Fire HD 7". I rooted it many months ago and I use Go Launcher EX, everything worked perfectly fine and I could easily read books by pressing the kindle home button.
But now when I try to go to the carousel the screen is dark grey, then blinks as if something was going to show up, but then it goes grey again. I press the home icon and it's back to normal.
Does anyone have this same problem or know how I can fix this? Thanks!

Need some help

OK I picked up my GG last week and slowly but surely I been tweaking it and decided to root and install null-14. So far I have root, on UK firmware and and free falling theme. For some reason when I move my GG to see time or perform a task the motion sends a command to NOVA Launcher and instead of a default home screen I get the screen that shows five home screens with center chosen as default (checked mark) I can seem to fix this issue. All I can do is touch the screen and then it goes to the default home screen with all my widgets and icons. Am I missing something? this only happens when I choose NOVA as my launcher no problem with Touchwiz launcher. below is the screen shot of what greets me every time I do a motion to look at the time.:

[Q] Frozen system_ui.apk on rooted kindle fire hd 7''

I have a rooted KF hd with titanium backup and a 3rd party home page launcher (smart launcher).
I was fiddling around and derped up by freezing system_ui.apk in /system/app folder and RESTARTED THE KINDLE!!! I don't know what came over me.
Any way, after booting, lock screen came up, and I unlocked to find a blank screen with no GUI elements. I could access a pop-up menu (smart launcher customisation options) by long touching anywhere on the screen, but no GUI.
I have a homemade fastboot cable that works phenomenally, and I have ADB installed, so is there a possibility of unfreezing the system_ui.apk through ADB?
Help will be much appreciated.
???
Is there anyone who could just give me an idea of whether or not this is possible, at least?
Please?
