Had the same error a load of people had with the camera seeing the sd card and asking to use as default after every cold start.
Emailed samsung who said reset device and clear cache. Didnt work so emailed them back.
Just got a software and camera firmware update and problem now solved
what software version are you on? and was OTA or through KIES?
When I got the 4.1.2 update OTA on my AT&T Galaxy Camera, this problem also went away for me. Even if I hard boot by powering off and removing the battery, when I power back on if figures out the camera should automatically use the SD card that is still in the slot. Now if only there was an option somewhere to just come up in android and not start the camera app...

It was OTA. 4.1.2
Maybe Samsung are actually listening. I emailed to tell them of the problem (as i'm sure many people did) and got a reply telling me to fully reset my device(battery out etc).
I emailed them back to say this hadn't done anything and they said they would pass the details on to the tech/firmware guys.
Lo and behold, 2 days later update comes along!!

Connected my Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 to Kies yesterday and was informed there was a major firmware update (I live in Norway btw). Started the familiar process, all going well until 62% into the installation to the Tab. And there it froze... After a very long time I disconnected, tried the process recommended for emergency recovery. It stopped after 72% (or there around).
Now my device can't reboot, not even hard reset. All is lost and it has to be sent in for service Samsung says. When calling Support they said they were surprised Ice Cream Sandwich was released at this time for the device (sounded like they didn't know it was). Me too - I would have preferred to wait if I could have avoided this!!!
How do you know it was ICS.

I don't know it was (can't remember the version number displayed, stupid me!). When I called Samsung Support they said they were "surprised ICS was released now". I didn't claim it was when I called...
You are full of it.

Sorry? I'm just trying to report what happened to me so that it can be recorded if more experience the same. If I'm the only one with this problem then that is great (for the rest).

See the question mark in the title of my post? I don't know or claim this was ICS, I'm trying to find out if it was and is only reporting what I experienced. I did so here assuming I get rational feedback and advice on it.
If it was ICS then others should also have it in Kies now, if nobody else has then it most likely wasn't. But I have seen no reports from others that they have got firmware upgrades to their 8.9 device on Kies now and ICS has been rumored to be around the corner. What did happen was that I got a firmware upgrade - no matter if that was ICS or not.
The idiotic thing was that I was so excited when I saw there was an upgrade on Kies that I ignored taking backup before proceeding. How stupid can you be...
Were you really not able to go recovery mode? When was the last time you used kies before you tried this? Maybe it was an older firmware?
The recovery mode also stopped, after 70-something percent. Might have been a few weeks since I checked Kies last, but not a very long time.
After the recovery mode also hanged, the device only displayed the firmware error page. When trying to hard reset (volume up & start button) I got an Android logo saying it was downloading (which it couldn't have been as it was not connected to anything).
Got it back from repair and it has Android 3.2 (2.6.36.3).

Isn't that download mode....As in what you'd want to flash a rom with ODIN?
Did you try flashing the stock firmware back on it before you sent it in for repair?
I kinda messed up my i957 last week when playing around with it. I wasn't paying attention to the 3g vs LTE so it was my bad. Tried some stuff out and the tablet was whacky!
Wound up going to Samsung support page and hunted down original firmware and flashed with ODIN and all was well again.
Glad your back up and running
ok guys, i have a question for you. keep in mind that im new to the phone world lol. ok so a bout a month ago i wanted to unroot my phone but for some reason the tar files on sammobile wasnt working right. so i came on here and downloaded what i believed to be the file that i needed to go back to stock. after i used odin and the phone rebooted it automatically notified me that i had a update. after i accepted the update and it rebooted, it again notified me that i have yet another update. so after this happened i noticed that my phone was updated to 4.4.4 kitkat which would be great exept for the fact that it keeps freezing and when i am on wifi i have a problem getting phone calls aswell as text messages. also when i disconnect from wifi i have to restart the phone to get any data back. is there anything that i can do? is it possible to go back to 4.3 or even 4.2.2? any help would be very much appreciated.

Well, that's a T-Mobile phone and you're in an AT&T forum so...
I don't see EQC1 on sammobile, anyone else see the 127 MB update?
I'm on EQB1.
Yup, I see it, 127.53mb on both of mine SM-N910T3 and
SM-N910T
I have it as well. Have you flashed yet?
I have it too. I'm not sure I want to flash, especially if it patches the ability to root my phone.
My phone also suffers from the SD card / reboot issue (the phone constantly boot loops when both an SD card and SIM card are in the phone). I wonder if this update will fix that?
I tried flashing it and it failed, I'm running a stock highly modified rom. I'll try reflashing the original stock unmodified rom when I get a chance tomorrow and apply the update. It looks like it's just security updates
Says "Various system improvements" for the QC1 update.
https://support.t-mobile.com/docs/DOC-28899
I updated to this version the other day, now I'm looking to root. Anyone know if the old root method still works? I may try myself in the next few days myself and find out.
I upgraded to it yesterday. Took about 30 minutes from start of install to finish. It updates the security to March 2017, has the new Google Play Store. Other than that I do not notice any other differences
Can i root after upgrade?
Does anyone know if this fixes the mmc_read failed issue along with its constant lagging/freezing problem?

I'm pretty sure the mmc_read failure issue is failing hardware and no firmware release can fix this. My understanding is some Note4's had dodgy flash memory and will eventually fail. I had this happen to my note4 last year and got it changed out under warranty at a tmobile store. My phone had the constant lagging/freezing for about a month before it would just no longer boot, it wouldn't do anything other than a quick vibrate on power up, no boot screen of any type.
If you are getting mmc_read I would suggest you get the phone replaced ASAP, and make backups of everything you have on it that you want to keep. At some point it probably just wont power back on again. Hopefully you are still under a warranty and can get it swapped out.

Hi,
That's certainly is one possible scenario (hardware failing). But based on my extensive research too, many have said that this could be faulty firmware. I went to a Samsung Experience Center and talked with a guy there and he said that it's a known issue affecting many Galaxy Note 4 Sprint users a few months ago. Samsung in the end replaced/repaired the affected units free of charge.
In the past 2 months or so, more and more Galaxy Note 4 users started experiencing this issue. And so it could be that the firmware triggered the issue, and eventually damaged the hardware.
Since we don't really have a 100% certain answer (of course, Samsung will never tell us), I'm just trying to see if anyone has updated the phone to the latest firmware and could tell us if it fixed the issue.

Try this https://forum.xda-developers.com/no...rom-n910t3uvu3eqc1-stock-rooted-odex-t3592242
I can't seem to get TWRP to work on this. I've tried several times with Odin, it appears to be successful, phone reboots, but then when I try to reboot into recovery there's no TWRP, only stock. Anyone else have this issue or any suggestions?
Edit: Tried something I remembered reading in another thread. I pulled the battery immediately after Odin successfully finished and the booted directly into recovery. It worked. I'm flashing pvsgh's rooted EQC1 and will report back if TWRP sticks
Edit 2: Success. Seems like pulling the battery after Odin/TWRP before the phone reboots did the trick
ok, thanks for the suggestion.

Hello. I REALY NEED HELP!! A couple of months ago when oreo got leaked for note 8 I installed it. I installed substratum themes before I did the update when I was still in 7.1.1 . When I installed the leaked oreo I had a problem that it wouldn't let me go past the lock screen unless I quick launched the camera and it said "system ui has stopped" and the phone kept vibrating. I couldn't turn off the phone.. only if I got lucky and then it would take me to a screen that said upload mode. no hard reset combo worked and only download mode combo worked. from there I would put cancel and it restarted the phone. somehow I got the phone to power off and immediately tried the hard reset combo and it worked. I factory reset it and everything went to normal. After that I never had the same issue again. But couple days ago I tried to install substratum to see if it would now work. WELL THAT WAS A HUGE MISTAKE. it was doing the same thing so I managed to factory reset it again. after that I didn't install substratum and everything would work fine until I woke up. when I woke up it kept doing the same thing so I wipped the cache and factory reset it again. Everything worked fine again and then the next morning IT DID THE SAME THING. I've factory reset it like 5 times now and don't have substratum installed at all and that doesn't work. it still says that "system ui has stoped" when I wake up in the mornings. I've been researching A LOT and I've tried to do everything the forums say but nothing works. HOW CAN I GET RID OF THIS SOFTWARE PROBLEM COPMLETLY?. (keep in mind i'm still on the beta software , I never got the official update). I even took it to a Samsung care center for a day and they told me that they couldn't fix it and I called Samsung and they said to ship it in to them so they could fix it. Have you guys been through this?

What varient are you?
I have the exact same issue, how is this not talked about anywhere? The leaked beta was so wide spread, I'm assuming you've tried taking it to ubreakifixit? I think that's what it's called.

I think flashing the original firmware is your best option considering you are still on the beta.
Just post the variant you have and the country you're in and I can give you instructions on how to get the right firmware
I would advise that you take your device to a Samsung Service Center and let them take a look at it. As they will be able to help you resolve your issue

Here is a video about repair Android system issues, maybe helpful with you.
Hi everyone, this morning the OTA update notified me that the october update was avaible for my phone, i started the update and after then it was working perfectly. When i was trying to unlock the phone, it started having some trouble recognizing or my face, either my fingerprint. So i decided to restart the phone, but back then it is contiously turning on and off, and sometimes it says "Android is updating your apps". When it is on i can try to use it but there is nor notification bar neither the back, home button. If i try to connect the phone to the pc, it is recognized. Can somebody help me? It is the european model, with exynos, 128 GB and 6 GB of RAM.

I would get the current stock firmware files for your phone model and the current version of Odin onto your laptop. Then just flash over everything. Try dirty flashing first (without wiping) as to not lose any data. If that doesn't work, wipe everything while flashing. You'll lose all your data and will have to set everything up again.
I honestly wouldn't bother trying to sort this yourself (And potentially making things worse), I'd just go straight to Samsung, you shouldn't be having to fix their mistakes.

Now this is what I worry about! Samsung needs to do better than this! It's bad enough that we dont get OTA updates in time and to then mess up my phone while giving me an already late update is so not good. Hopefully some day, we will see a change ?. I will surely know to back up all my data before any updates.. for whenever it comes....
