When someone call me the screen doesn't come on, I hear my ringtone but can't see who's calling. I can press the power button and then I can see who's calling but then it shuts the ringtone off. How do I change it so whenever I receive a call the screen will turn on ???
I have android 4.2.2....

Which rom are you using? This bug is present in some roms.
Think Im using this: [ROM][4.2.2]RunnyCM AOKP MR1
Also something I noticed is that sometimes when I press the 'power' button to turn the screen ON, I see that the phone is turning on like it was turned off by itself...

Hi. I have similar problem on "[ROM][AOSP JDQ39E][cfX 4.8.1-toolchain] OFFICIAL codefireX" but it screen goes black when I'm trying to phone someone or when I answering the phone, also when I'm trying to make voice call on skype. Any solution for that?
Another problem that I have with all of the roms is when I'm trying connect to a wireless network at work, phone is getting in a loop of rebooting untill I will get out of the wireless network range or manage to disconnect from the network but at home and anywhere else connects without any problem... Any ideas?

Try this: Proximity Actions in CH Play. Turn on Smart Screen on/off. Check only during call. That's all

I've solved a problem with Proximity Sensor - there was little bit of dust so I've lifted the screen where sensor is and I've blowed some compressed air. I would like to disactivate this sensor but Proximity Actions "Play" doesn't work for me somehow.
My main prblem now is the rebooting issue when I'm trying to connect to wireless network at work.

Just noticed that if the screen on the device gets darker or if the phone "locks" itself (press powerbutton one time), Active Sync disconnects my device. If I wake up the device again it will reconnect instant. Can I do something about this?
I think if you turn the phone face down, it will turn off the screen, but not the active connections.
(I'm not sure this is default behaviour though, I've got a few tweak utils installed and this might be why.)

I have not turn my phone face down, it's on the table with the screen upwards.
Yes, but the solution is to turn it face down while it's connected. It should then turn off the screen, but not the ASync-Connection.

hey guys sometime when i get and incoming call my phone start acting up and i cant slide up to take the call, my screen wont respond and no hard keys to press if some one know how to fix this please let me know if not im giving this wp7 a 2nd software update a chace to get this right. ms should be a genieus when it comes to software not apple or google. you never know when a emergency call comes in and you could not get it, im so concern about this. i had enough with 6.5 now this. but the problem is that i love ms i keep coming back. ****tttt
if a soft reset doesn't fix it you could hard reset. Just make sure you make a list of installed apps to make sure you get them all back on there.
I hadn't heard of this happening before.
I had the same problem once. I just switched the display off and on again (while the phone was still ringing) and then I could take the call.

+1 this happens from time to time.
hit the POWER button to shut of screen, this just powers of the sound and display and does not efect the incoming call.
Press the POWER button to turn the screen back on where you still see the incoming call and the screen will now respond correctly allowing you to answer.
no need to rest or anything.

+1 Me too.
Is there any remedy to this issue???, i'm having the same thing
I'm using Zeus 6.11. This is perhaps a "feature not a bug" but I'd appreciate an explanation from those who know!
During a call, the screen detects when it is near something (a face!) and switches off. Great - but when I need to input numbers during a call, it keeps switching the screen off when I move my hand near it.
Is there a way to disable this so that I can input numbers during a call?
Thanks, and sorry for the stupid question if it is one (it probably is).
just try not to block the distance sensor which is next to the front camera(including ur hands and fingers)...the screen will light up automatically..

Just make sure you don't have the "Settings->Accessibility->Power button ends call" checked
It took a day to figure out why pressing the power button ended the calls, i forgot about this option and there was nothing related to it in the Calls section.

to be honest I've never saw that option... but [I've just checked it out ] it's true... but since is disable by default I think it should represent no problem
Hi,
My father's HTC one recently started to malfunction as he can't turn wifi on. If you push the on button it just goes to a more stale black but stays off. Bluetooth and the other functions all work well so I think it can't be a hardware problem. When you swipe down with two fingers on the home screen to go into the options the wifi logo is also flashing. I will upload pictures if it isn't clear what I am trying to say.
Thanks in advance.
same problem
i have the same exact problem. i contacted the htc one support and tried all their dubuggg
1. factory reset
2. clear the cache in recovery
3. safe mode
4. quick reset
the problem still avails.

tried it already- doesnt work.
its not a problem with the wifi working , its the problem with it toggling it ON.
I can't tell if this issue is with the specific ROM I'm using, or if it's just a Lollipop issue in general. During phone calls, the screen goes black (as it should) when I bring the phone to my ear, but now with Lollipop ROMs, most of the time when I pull the phone away, the screen stays black instead of coming back on. Normally, the screen would illuminate when I pull the phone away, but now it doesn't always work correctly. This is particularly annoying at the end of a call when I would normally touch 'end call', but now I have to wait for the caller on the other end to hang up before the screen comes on. Anybody else notice this?
I'm running gruesomewolf's GPE version 1 and I noticed it. I can usually just press the power button and the screen comes back on though.
A workaround
I also have noticed this problem, and i am 100 positive it is a lollipop problem, nothing wrong with the sensor (otherwise the screen wouldn't turn off when it comes close to your ear) nor the ROM (also present in the stock ROM), One solution i found is to set the power button to end the call, this option can be found in Settings>accessibility.

That's a good idea although if you had to use your phone while on a call to look something up or press the keypad, pressing power to turn on the screen will also hang up the call. But, if you never have that issue, your workaround is :good:
One more solution

You can also enable DoubleTap2Wake by using a custom kernel.
Same problem on TMo m7
Last week I upgraded to Android 5.0.2 on my TMo HTC One m7.
Since then when I remove the device from next to my head during a phone call the screen stays black.
This means I cannot use a keypad to navigate a phone menu or to enter a PIN.
I can tap the power button to re-awaken the screen but it takes several seconds to come back - and sometimes stays dark.
This is a mild nuisance if simply trying to end a call but is a major issue if I'm trying to use an IVR (this device is, after all, a PHONE!)
I have run the HTC Function test on the phone and the P-Sensor test runs fine.
