[Q] I9000 GalaxySENSE and GalaxyCOMB ROMs for Captivate?

I have gotten I9000 ROMs to install on my Cappy before, but now with both of Kenia1234's AMAZING GalaxySENSE/COMB ROMs for the I9000 I get an assert error(Status 7) when I try to flash it in CWM. Why is this? Any solutions would be Awesome!

I honestly dont know anytime about the romsb our the error. Just wondering if it has to do with version of cwm, ie v3 vs v2?

It does, and we are supposed to be on CWM 3.X.X.X

I think you have to have a special kernel for sense/honeycomb for it to work, also are you sure they are CWM installable and which CWM they are compatible with
also if no special kernel is needed make sure you have an I9000 kernel since that is what they are for

Im using a reoriented kernel, specifically for the I9000 Sense port, made to make it work on the Captivate. I'm no noob, not saying anyone is, this just really got my attention cuz I love sense and wanna try Honeycomb out for awhile!

Kernel compatibility?

Ok I didn't word my last post right! I wanna know what roms will work with the ursaminor kernel or if it even matters what kernel I have!!!! I am kinda a noob to this but know a little ...

a rom will include a kernel, so if you flash a rom, it will flash a new kernel on your phone. then you would have to reflash JUST the kernel you want. whats wrong with andromeda?

I think its great but still a lot like stock! Everything runs smooth they did a great job on this rom! I just want something different because this was my very first custom rom!

Well great job its a great rom I do like it a lot but a few things I can't seem to figure out are, 1. My wifi speed I can't get over 6meg I have 25meg service at my house? 2nd. How do I customize my status bar? And last can you direct me to start up and shut down animations that I can flash with cwm?

The best way to find out which is the best rom for you is to go on a flashing spree. I've done it on more than one ocasion; even reverting to older roms 2.1, 2.2, i even found a 1.6 but i like gingerbread so i stick with 2.3 roms. Its all a matter of taste. there is a Spanish saying that goes " para los gustos se hicieron los colores. which roughly translated means "colors where made for preferences". So I personal like sense roms but they are a bit heavy and bog down the hero so I stick with CM7.1

Most Development Active Phone

Hello everybody.... I just wanna start by saying that this is the most development active phone I've ever seen. I came from Verizon samsung galaxy s3 to this phone. Honestly I've been on pa this whole time. Idk what rom to try next. Does anybody have any suggestions? I'm only on pa cuz it's all I no lol. Is there a stock rom or is everything aosp? I wanna try something new so let's hear what people think? Also wha kernel should I use?

I'm going to start off and say it's a nexus and development Is the beauty of owning one and as for the ROM and kernel it's up to you but I've tried most and gotten best batt life with stock ROM and faux kernel that's just me and I'm very much a power user

[Q] What kernel is everyone using?

Our Sprint M8 forum is pretty dead but wanted to know what kernel everyone is using? Only one I see available is faux's.

My guess is that most are actually using the stock kernel. In my opinion, it is perfect for this device.

I'm using bad seeds stock kernel with system write enabled, I'm still s-on (unfortunately) therefore I couldn't change certain things, bad seeds kernel allows it
