[Q] What kernel is everyone using? - Sprint HTC One (M8)

Our Sprint M8 forum is pretty dead but wanted to know what kernel everyone is using? Only one I see available is faux's.

My guess is that most are actually using the stock kernel. In my opinion, it is perfect for this device.

I'm using bad seeds stock kernel with system write enabled, I'm still s-on (unfortunately) therefore I couldn't change certain things, bad seeds kernel allows it

What Kernals work with the stock AT&T rom

I"m using the AT&T deodexed rom. I'm trying to put faux123 on but all it does is cause it to lock up when it hits the lockscreen and reboot. Sure enough I flashed the stock kernal back on and it boots up fine. I thought all the kernals were compatible

Cool thanks, I'm basically building my own rom, Given the limited amount of choices for this device it seems to be the best way to go. Don't look for it in the developer forum though lol.
I'm basically looking for a stock like experience with a few tweaks.

[Q] In-Call volume control with CM10 on Vivid

I have installed the Official CM10 roms went it went "official", i am having trouble with the in-call volume? also the people on the other end can't hear me either?
Has anyone found a fix for this, it's driving me crazy. I like the CM10 Very much, but i can't use it without being able to hear. I keep going back to DarkRaider 1.5.5 which doesn't have any issues.
HELPPPPPP!!!!

I have been looking there, BUT NO ONE has FIXED it yet? That's what i am looking for is the FIX.
you obviously didn't read enough then. no it's not fixed it is being worked on. it works just cant raise volume and other callers can hear you. Of course you could always fix it for us

Do you know if it's a ROM issue, or a Kernel Issue? I've tried a couple of different Kernels with the CM10, and, i thought, it made a little difference? but not sure.

Yep, there is one out there called "Kernel usb fix cm10". there is another one Called " KangBang Kernel 2.0", there is one built into the PACman rom that can be Fastbooted.
Langbang isn't for JB as far as I'm aware.. and if so could you link me it.? And the USB fix was the default kernel home slice uploaded (I think)

The kangbang kernel is probably really old...back from when syn was working on cm10
And after that pretty much all the "jb" kernels are 99.9% the same...all based off the same source.

The real only differences are the OC. On USB fix one i can OC up to 1512, on the Kangbang 2.0 you can OC up to 2082? i think,
and on the PACman Boot.img you can OC up to 1728.

Are you saying you loaded Kangbang 2.0 on your phone with CM10 loaded? The reason I ask is the Kangbang 2.0 was based on ICS so not really setup for JB.

Yes, i did load Kangbang 2.0 with CM10, everything seemed to be working except WIFI. I couldn't get the WIFI to turn on. But everything seemed to be working?
As I said earlier...when syn was working on cm10 he had a kangbang kernel for jb...that's probably what this guy has
Sent from my HTC PH39100 using Tapatalk 2
That kernel is old and doesn't have all the fixes that has been done to cm why are they using it
Sent from my HTC One X using Tapatalk 2
Try the new kernel or just stick with the default. Btw what the hell is linaro. Just curious. And not trying to be off topic
Sent from my Vivid 4G using Tapatalk 2
Linaro is a tool chain that you use for compiling...
Iirc it tells gcc what to do

So can't someone compare what Syn had in his kernel to what we currently have and sort of combine them?
The Sultana kernel seems to be making quite a bit of progress, and a fix to the in-call volume is being worked on, but no success yet.
Keep an eye on CM10 development and Sultana development and you will get the fix as soon as they find one. That's what I am doing.

I normally go the other way around.. I find a rom that does what I like, make sure it works.. and then find a kernel that suits.
WolfPack will work great with any sense rom
Is wolfpaq good on battery? Is it better than elementalx

Screen Sensitivity MOD credit Team Venum

All credit goes to Team Venum for this mod. I just found this and wanted to share. It works perfectly for our HTC One's especially if you want to run an AOSP, CM, AOKP... Etc. ROM with a screen protector when the home and back buttons don't work. Tried this out after installing GlassTr Screen Protector and required the most recent kernel that hasn't been released to developers yet.........

"Hi all, this is a tweak I made to my Sprint LGOG Roms and it works for the ATT LGOG. Just flash the zip, wipe dalvik and cache and reboot. Makes your screen super fast and twice as responsive! Enjoy! Note: For Sprint Stock based roms and CM/AOSP based roms.

It should. I'm using Pananoid right now. I personally haven't tried it with a sense based rom yet or with a different kernel.

Where did Venum say it works with any device? He did this for the Optimus G running stock roms, not any sprint device. Im not sure about all those files in the zip but this being for another OEM device I wouldnt flash it till Venum confirms those are stock android files and not device specific, on sense based stuff of course.

He didn't say anywhere that it would work. I just got bored and decided to give it a try. Was tired of not being able to flash aosp Roms because of my screen protector.
Now if you have any .02 please do tell and let people know. I'm just stating it worked for me and I'm pleased.
Working just fine for me but I have noticed a significant battery drain because of it.

I flashed this the other day, I'm running ElementalX 0.4 on DKv10 (Sense based) and it seems to be working for me. I haven't noticed a battery drain either.

[Request] PARANOID ANDROID for i9305

Since the official PA dev has quit the support for our devices, many users (including me) would love and appreciate if some other dev with the time, knowledge and willing could take over.
I'm not demanding for anything, I'm just hoping for some kind dev to help us out, since PA is my and many users favorite custom rom.
I also want to thank @gokussjx for his hard work, I totally understand his choice since I'm myself a student, and free time is gold.
Please devs!

I agree. I wish some devs here can take over the work because paranoid android is really one of the best roms.

Agreed this one and Slim are among the winners for me.
Hello,
I've seen that last Paranoid version on xda is based on 4.3 JB : is there any chances to see Kitkat based version of Paranoid on i9305 ?
Thanks.
Manu
I would also like to see PA4 for the i9305, but the development for our devices is very weak, so I don't think there'll ever be...

Its the developer you need to contact as he no longer builds for SGS3 .
Anyone out there that wants to take the challenge? There's a lot of AOSP roms for the i9305 out there but no Paranoid Android. Please!

Best answer I've get in months! One thing to take in mind is the camera quality/video recording sound volume. Check OMNI rom thread, the bug got fixed today!
Thank you so much!
Can you help me with my problem maybe? I have problem to get cwm recovery on I9305 (bought from T-Mobile) , each time I try to do it with Odin it loads back stock recovery. Apparently it is because boot-recovery.p
and I don't know how to go around it since this is relatively all new to me.

Are you sure you have I9305?
I would recommend TWRP instead of cwm, IMO it's better.

Try looking for threads here in xda that will show you exactly what to do. Do your research, I know there's something that will help you. You could try with TWRP.
