After all the fun I have had with my I9000, the worst thing happend. My son dropped the phone on the floor resulting in a broken lcd disply. I was planning to repair it my self. Now I was looking for a display, but can it be that the price has gone up very much? I think it was around 50 euro (65 dollar) but now I see prices around 125 euro (165 dollar)
Is this the price at the moment? If that would be the case, I would be better of buying a new I9000.
Thanks for your help!
Hey,
Uhm. Well I live in New Zealand and yeah, online and stuff the price is roughly NZ$130 (which is about 80 euros) and that's just buying the screen, not paying someone else to replace it (also not from a main retailer, this is buying online from a small retailer).
So yeah, new I9000 screens can be pretty expensive :/

Assuming it is in near-perfect cosmetic condition, how much would you say this phone is worth (sim-free), in £ (GBP)?
Or in other words, how much should I pay for it at, at most.
I will use it to its full potential and more.
Thanks guys. I want to come back and play with Windows Mobile a a bit before it's all but killed - I have the chance because of work.
about 200 i would say?
well,
www.envirofone.com offered me £93 for my X1. and mine is in perfect condition as ive had so many replacements this unit is not that old
i'd say £150
If you got to http://mobilevaluer.com/ you can get Royal Mail Simply Drop* £98
it was about 105 the other day so its gone down and i've been watching ebay recently and most used X1's are going for about £150
there still going on play.com for £299.99 and ebay for £200.depends wether its unlocked tho
£160 I would say, I have seen them new for £229
used: 130 pounds
I bought a brand new one of ebay for £167 inluding postage and original invoice which I think is really good. As much as the phone annoyed me with the cracks I wanted to get another phone as I really did enjoy my time with the xperia.
I have seen brand new ones go for £150 - £180 second hand ones in used condition £125-£140 I would spend the extra £20 and get a newer one.
I been searching eBay for a broken down inspire or water damage doesn't matter I just want the LCD screen because mine is broken and I can just buy a new one its around 30 bucks but I wanted to buy the whole phone so I can mess with it,and I see broken phone ,water damage phone for around 5 to10 dollars starting bid by the time the bid end the cost is around 170 to 280 dollars for a broken or water damage phone that don't even turn on.my question is their people that stupid to buy these phone or seller just bidding for themself?you can buy a use working phone for around 150 why would you bid on broken one that cost that much ,is there drugs hidden it it or what?just wondering...lol

I remember i sold my Motorola RAZR (the flip phone) for $100 (i paid 20 cents for it on contract). The funny thing is that it was broken in half
The guy said he had several RAZR's and he used them for parts. I didn't complain. But it's strange that people will pay that much for something broken when it's cheaper to buy it new.
Supply and demand my good friend.
Auctions...some people love to buy stuff on them, even if it is cheaper elsewhere. Right now, I can't find anything worthwhile to buy on eBay, even new. I just use the place to sell all my used stuff, haha. Speaking of, 2 x Razr v3 I need to sell off.
I am currently on a Incredible 2, and am tired of not being able to have 3g speeds with GSM, so I am looking at the cost of switching over.
I looked at swappa, nothing, and eBay's prices are variable at best.
So if anyone has recommendations on finding the cheapest Inc s it would be appreciated.
Btw on a side note if anyone has a destroyed Inc s sitting around I would love to buy it from them and switch up the guts of my current phone.
Using allofcraigs(list).com and made a post in market. Any other suggestions?
I got mine of Ebay a few weeks ago, for 180 pound.
It took till the second go to get one for a reasonable price, if you are in england you could try a secondhand shop like CEX or cash converters which also sell online.
ebay, hi-mobile.net
My galaxy note motherboard got shot in some chips, coz of water gone inside. how much will cost to replace only motherboard..
may be around 9000 to 10000 Rs here in india.
i have cleaned the water patches in the shot area.. is there possible to get claim the warranty??
You may try, although water might have caused micro-corrosion on the PCB which the guys from service centre will probably notice. You've got nothing to lose though.
does anyone know where I can.order a motherboard for my note? I'm.in Canada with a N7000 note...Samsung doesn't sell/service devices outside north America. and UK Samsung doesn't service/sell outside UK...!

You may try this one:
http://www.globaldirectparts.com/SearchResults.asp?Search=galaxy+note
My friend got his screen replacement from them - can't really verify the shop so you might want to check it first.
Also, there are some boards on eBay, might be worth to look there.
Samsung parts are relatively cheap compared to what we generally see on ebay, at least so is the case in India, though the phone costs every penny of the $600 odd dollars that it is priced at.
I was one of those unfortunate enough to have 2 Galaxy Notes withered away because of a broken display and an emmc chip which decided to go rogue.
So off to the service center the phones go, after much back and forth with whether the phone is rooted and what not we finally agreed upon the emmc issue sorted by Samsung and the display borne by me.
Long story short, the motherboard costs around 9000 Indian Rupees which is about 165 USD, give or take.
global direct parts are a bunch of crooks...id shy away from them... their parts are not what they claim and when you try to return them they refuse claiming you broke them even though you never used them and thats the way you received them...

Buy a used handset?
I was looking into this after water damage to my mobo but in the end it seemed easier, less risky and not much more expensive just to buy a used n7000 complete. Admittedly this was in the UK but I was able to pick up an excellent condition Note with box and all accessories for just over £100. If that is an option for you I'd recommend it rather than dealing with some of these unreliable companies.
Good luck!
is there anyway to order a motherboard and get it shipped in Bangladesh?
In India, 10k these service center guys are suckups here, they don't easily agree to do big repairs, and in my opinion if you r living in Delhi then go to Gaffar Market, Karol Bagh and you can get it fixed in around 3-5K, you will get an orignal samsung PCB/Motherboard(used 1) which they have taken through service center links from the original phones ( Ya believe it or not, it all happens).
Hope I have helped.

Hi
My friend broke his note screen. I saw a replacemen on ebay for only 10 dolars.
Im kinda curious if i can trust this since replacement at some companies in the netherlands can cost around 250 EUROS

short answer, if seller has good rating/return policy why not.
read these threads if you havent done so

Its difficult, general concensus is replace complete screen, not just glass.
Yess they are expensive. parts4repair.com is pretty cheap, but probably long shipping to your country.
I guess a second hand phone can be cheaper, faster, lot less fuss
Sure, why not? I have ordered a lot of stuff from eBay recently and almost all of the items I got are good. There is sometimes mistakes by the seller but they often refund or resend the correct item.

Why not, only 10 dolars is almost nothing so I think you should try.
Aftermarket screens will never perform as well as genuine ones, almost every phone i've had has had a screen replacement (I'm always dropping them) so I've noticed the difference.
Don't pay too much or too little find a decent screen at a decent price and you should be okay with that, luckily there are some apps that can tune the sensitivity so consider that as replacements are often not as sensitive.
