Details? I was just looking for how to do that?
thx
Since the OP just hit and ran with no actual info on how to do this, I went ahead and started experimenting.
It actually requires no configuration, it is enabled and ready to go. Just connect a BT headset to the phone, open the camera, and long press the talk button on the headset and it takes a picture!

I just got my Vivid Monday and coming from the Inspire I was used to having the built in flashlight on my phone. I noticed for some reason HTC left it off this phone. Here is the HTC Flashlight apk for those would like it. To install just download and use a file manager like astro or es file explorer to install.
Awesome TYVM. I thought it was Very odd that HTC forgot and or excluded this in this phone.
Thank you very much!

Great! Thanks! I hadn't yet noticed it was missing till I saw this thread, but I definitely would have been disappointed when I needed it.
thanks... i was using some stupid one.
Are these just like the CAB file with WM, where after we transfer them to the phone we just click on them and they auto install?
You need a file manager app like es file explorer or astro. When you click it it will ask if you want to install

Would you blokes also happen to have the Teeter app too?

Yeah, I was surprised to not see Teeter.
Awesome, works great. Thanks
Got an apk for Teeter?
Here is a Teeter apk that has always worked for me, including on non HTC devices. Not sure if it will still work with newer devices, but it is worth a shot. Just place on the sd card and install from there using a file manager.

I have yet to try it, but the main thing is if the screen resolution still works. Flashlight is a proper qHD app, so it looks like.
Trying now, will report back.
EDIT: Scales up beautifully, but the ball position is screwed up.
I'm not sure you will get this one to install, but this one is higher resolution.

Broken lol. There us a large white border along the bottom and right side that lets you cheat on all levels.
Anyone know what it adds to sense 5 and android 4.1.2 what's the difference?

I'm guessing it will add quick reply from notifications as on AOSP ROMs, unless HTC screws it, somehow.

i thought quick reply for messaging was a CM feature?
I'm wondering if perhaps we can expect to see a system dump from the "Google Edition" release, or perhaps an unofficial release of the STABLE CM 10.1; seeing as how the Sprint variant of the HTC One, received a nightly, as of yesterday.
I'm just hopeful that we'll have a more fully-functional version of Android 4.2.2.

Maybe for messaging, but Notification actions in general:
Expandable, actionable notifications.
Android has always put you in control when it comes to staying notified and connected. Just swipe down from the top of the screen to see all your notifications in one place. Late for a meeting or missed a call? Take action in an instant directly from the notifications shade.

Some of these don't apply, and some have been implemented by HTC already, but anyway for reference.

Ya seems to me to be pointless to buy the nexus experience One if you are a current owner and can just flash a "dump"
I just don't know if I can do without Zoe and the IR blaster. I have tortured so many peeps with the IR blaster and the TV/cable box at their houses or hotels it has been priceless!!!

Though I doubt the Google version of the one will have Zoe, I imagine it will use the ir blaster. I don't think they're changing anything physically on the phone so itd be a little odd if they didn't include that functionality.

I never really cared for LS widgets on AOSP. But if you really want, you will be able to delete the HTC lockscreen and use the AOSP one that has the widgets. So it's not like they are completely gone.

Hey thanks for the suggestion man sadly I'm not rooted yet though :/ I guess I'll just have to root my phone in the future in order to do it. I was just curious if there was another way
Sent from my HTC One using xda app-developers app
Hi,
Once you're root, you're good to go, no need for an app: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2353520 , do not mind the title, I explain how set the capacitive button always off...
I hope this will help you
I any case without root I'm pretty sure you can't achieve what you want (with an app or a script, the mod / app modifies a system file...).
I have just had the update to 4.2.2 installed on my HTC one and I can't seem to set my keyboard to the Google stock keyboard. I have reinstalled it but it doesnt seem to be available as an option under keyboard and languages. Has anyone else encountered this issue?

It's a known issue unfortunately and seems to be due to the CID of your device.
Hopefully google will sort this out.

It doesn't affect all CID's?
Currently the 4.2.2 update is downloading on my phone so just collecting some info. Have read that Swiftkey seems to be broken especially in the mail app as well.
HTC's way of making me stick with the Sense keyboard...sheesh

Apparently not.... I had the issue on a GE rom with CID HTC__001, switched the CID to 11111111 and it worked.
I think it's a google problem not HTC.

Is it all flashable zips? My wifes HTC One is not rooted
Tried a few of them. None of them worked
Sent from my Evo 3D GSM using xda premium
The reason that it doesn't work on some devices is because Google keyboard is only officially released to the US. If you have s-off, change your cid to 11111111, or CWS__001. If you don't have s-off, you can attempt to turn off security just to get the keyboard, but s-off is serious business, so make sure you read up on it. And if your device has hboot 1.54, I reccomend looking for a new keyboard.
Also, this is not a bug, it is the way Google intended the keyboard to act.

Yup I hate it too, why they would choose that colour as standard is beyond me, that's why I will only use a custom sense 6 rom where you can change all of that.
Anyway, go to settings - personalize - themes to change it for now.
or you could root, download xposed installer and then sense 6 toolbox to change it, a bit more complicated though.
Yeah I did that I selected the thing that has black in it and a picture of a frozen um evergreen branch or some ****. But still everything I touch is highlighted in green and all of my contacts that don't actually have pictures have big ****ing square green patches on them. You know I'm no stranger to rooting and flashing. I usually end up doing it toward the end of my contract that's usually when the phone starts ****ing up to. But I love this phone so much the way it is. Trust me a time will come and overclocking along with free wifi for everyone. **** sprint they can lick my balls. It's better than a iphone but we're not there yet the fellas.

Yeah I had Viper ROM on my htc evo 3d I liked it I also liked the CyanogenMod. But to tell you the truth I prefer the stock look. But I like the overclocking and the access to WiFi sharing. You know I noticed the more and more you mod a phone it's like an addiction he keeps throwing **** from everywhere together little bit from here a new skin from there. I knew kernel from another place then you flash the radio. And then you end up with a hodgepodge. And then you brick your phone lol

Welcome to the world of wanting your device your way. Either flash a rom or redo the hundreds of xml and image changes to get rid of the green.
Well I decided to call HTC and ask them about it and I told them I've been a customer with them since the hero and then the HTC EVO 3d and now the HTC One m7 and I explained the situation and they basically told me well it's all part of sense 6 and there's no way you could take it out so you're SOL. So it looks like a rooting I will go thanks for all the support guys

Good old customer services, so customer aware and helpful
You can change the theme in Sense 6 in the Personalise menu, not that I ever did as I quite like the green but I've gone to GPe
