Video Highlights overcompressed - One (M7) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I love the video highlight feature of the phone where it takes the days photos and videos and edits then to music. But when you save one of these videos it compresses then down to such a tiny file that the video and picture quality is pretty awful. Share the saved video to Facebook and it's watchable but not very impressive.
Anyone else notice this issue?

Ive definitely noticed this. I went into the gallery see the Zoe's themselves are like 30 megs each, but somehow im compressing 15-20 of them into a 12 meg file?? Quality lacks, but only when you save. Wish there was a way around this....

LIST of videos LG Thrill converts to quality 3d

Hello all,
I looked around and did not see a thread like this at all, so I figured we could start one.
Personally I like to store lots of music videos on my phones to watch on busses or smoke breaks. I use a simple YouTube downloader to get my videos. I figure this list doesn't just have to be music videos, but that's all I've tested so far. I will update this post with any suggestions you throw in that you found converted 2d into 3d well. I only have one for the list so far.
MUSIC VIDEOS:
Kanye West-Power
(Just the way the music video is set up, a slow moving picture with the camera slowing zooming out, made for a really awesome 3d effect.)
LMFAO-Party Rock Anthem
(With a lot of what I've been trying to watch, I get a half decent 3d effect, mostly one thing propped forward, this video converted with lots of depths and watching it felt like the video was made in 3d)
If you know of any, do tell.
There's no such thing as a quality 3D conversion, even when done professionally at $100k per minute of footage.
Eh, I get what your saying, but quality in terms of what the phone can do.

So are we talking about GB's new 3D converter or just when you push the 3D button on 2.2 during a video?
I'm just talking about the button pushing. Is there a gb rom that can convert videos? I just bought my phone off a person and it came rooted but I haven't picked a rom yet, any good suggestions? And how does this gb converter your talking about work?

And is your name because you like fight club a lot?

Yeah, TylDurden was inspired by fight club and, Man, I can't stand the 3D "conversion" on the Thrill. I didn't find it useful at all. Yes, GB on the Thrill apparently has a legit 3D Converter for games at least, I assume it works for videos as well.
Yeah, I've found a lot of the conversion to be rather lame, but these videos actually worked well. I'm going to be trying videos soon. I expect inception to do okay, and maybe the green lantern.

Try actual 3D movies on your phone and you'll see what I'm talking about. On second thought don't cause the conversion function will be broken to you like it is for me.

... now explain a little further LOL
How did you get actual 3d movies to watch? Did you stream it from somewhere or have it transferred from a computer and watched in the video player? And what happened to your conversion? Your saying watching an actual video that is made for 3d screw something up with the phone?

Pictures taken with One mini 2

Hello, I thought we should have a topic like other devices do. In general I'm not happy with quality of pictures, so much noise especially indoors, also lack of ios is visible with most shots.

I actually really like the quality of pictures, I previously had a M7, and I can tell you that you really can see the difference between the ultrapixel and the 13MPX of the mini 2. Maybe indoors pictures with low light are a little bit noisy (that's where the ultrapixel goes better, of course), but I wouldn't say it's a problem.
Yeah, the pictures are quite alright, the camera app tends to go crazy for a moment then you get a all white out picture, maybe the problem lies in the fact that I was moving the phone around and it didn't have time to automatically focus and the other stuff it does before I took the pic.
Alright after couple days spent with the phone and ota updated recently I still reckon that pictures quality are far from good. I can't take a still picture all the time, every single picture is moved.
It is slightly better when 2 seconds countdown used.
When anti shake mode used there is a lot strange artifacts that looks awful.
Maybe my hands are shaking a bit more than others but consider that pictures are of still object, when shooting moving object pictures are much worse. Maybe some of you guys have an idea how to set manual mode to get pictures at least off acceptable quality? Many thanks

I am not getting moved photos in my case, i don't understand very well. But I have noticed that you have to leave it on the object 2 seconds before taking the picture, so that it can focus, otherwise sometimes the picture is moved
Can someone post more pictures taken with One mini 2, I would like to compare amount of noise, many thanks

video recording change hd settings

my razr M I could lower the video recording quality to decrease file size to send text video.. but cant find any settings to change video quality, did they take that away?
I have resorted to using Handbrake on a PC to change the video size. I have to say that shrinking a video down to less than 350kb so it can be texted takes a huge toll on the quality. I got two texted videos of the ice bucket challenge sent from iphones. They apparently shrink video down automatically for texting, but boy does it make it blurry and pixelated. I used Handbrake to shrink my 48Mb video challenge to about 2.5Mb and emailed it. Way better quality.

Youtube issues

I have been trying to watch vr videos in YouTube in the Samsung internet app. 2d and 2d 360 videos work fine.
If I try to watch a 3d video, there are all. Sorts of problems. The stereoscopic image is way off, and usually there is a black pop out video window on top of the video. Anyone else experienced this?

Yeah, I'm experiencing it as well. Odd thing is, it works on some videos, just not all videos. It's like the aspect of the sbs frames is too wide on some and the algorithm for stitching the image is compensating. It's also very painful to watch the broken 3d content, instant headache. Hopefully youtube will come out with an official app that will adjust it.

Yea I've resorted to using the cardboardforgearvr app and just using the YouTube app. That works a lot better but there isn't a way to browse for videos with the headset on.

Video compression - General questions about video

I've used open camera and PA camera trying to find the best camera app to record HD and 4K resolution videos to upload to YouTube. If you send a video you've recorded through messaging. The quality of the video is greatly reduced. I've noticed that even on uploading videos to YouTube. The aspect ratio remains 4:3, so a video uploaded to YouTube looks like it's been made from a phone. Does YouTube compress videos during an upload. It should be uploading at the same resolution I've recorded in, which is 4k. What are yall's thoughts? Suggestions?
