Hi guys, it seems oc for kernel is now progressnig for galaxy y:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2308037
What do you think about it?
Will we soon oc our kernel?
Hit thanks !
Send from my s5830i.
waiting for it.... but it is to hard to make Oc kernel for our ace. our processor calculate graphic process as well as system process... its really hard. but not impossible ...hope will work for us!!!
Galaxy Y User here..
Galaxy Y forum is flooded with kernels... OC is already in progress
As we both are in Ace-i team I will share my progress on that fb group
I have started trying to OC CPU at 1024Mhz/1.0Ghz!

Dude.. the Ace can be overclocked, it just needs a modded Kernel. If you're so eager why don't you make that yourself..
i think sir nprussell will make an OC kernel for us

guyz dont hope from 1 developer so much..!!
is there any phone which has same configuration as ace..???
SAD
Its really sad that there is less support for Ace.. No Cyanogen Mod... No overclocking... where others are getting better support..

The good guys left because of idiots in this forum , they only know how to ask when and don't know when to be patient .
If I'm an Ace developer I would've done the modules .

Testing OC Speed
Using galaxy ace and my current stable OC is 921 MHz (quite hot when charging and using wi-fi at the same time) using paranoid android ROM galaxyics kernel ver 2.6.35.7
I'll keep it updated... (no tweaks YET)
*update* After reboot it is no longger becoming hot so it's safe
*update 2* 940 Mhz is safe (so far)

Why on holy earth did you revive a dead thread?:what:
Back from the dead..
Ok..So that this dead thread is resurrected, why don't we ask the mod to lock it?
Woah.....The OP expects the Ace to be overclocked to 1.2 Ghz. We would be having a burning plastic brick in our hands...lol...!

940MHz is safe?
How about stable?
Sometimes by just running a benchmark i will reboot or FC

What do you really want to do with overclocking. and risking your phone. 800 mhz is slow, I agree, but its not bad enough for daily use.
The highest stable you should risk up to is 883 mhz.
Even 921 mhz is stable.
But higher than that is just overworking the processor.
If you really want your phone to be fast. Its not only done by overclocking. You should look over to scripts like Adrenaline Engine and stuff. Maybe even setting up zram, to up to 18%.
But risking your processor. Nope. Don't do it.

940 MHz is safe, but when my ace lags, it reboots (i was playing fruit ninja in multi-tasking with browser)... So i'm trying to find out why... I've set the min and max at 940 MHz, so the CPU is stable at 940 MHz...I'm trying to test 960 MHz, but it shutdown eventually and didn't gives me a bootloop when i set to 960, please be aware that i'm using maclaw's kernel and his ROM... I'm not responsible for any damage if you did what I did, but if you want to try do a NAND Backup then try it... if it goes with a bootloop simply wait, a few boots and the CPU will be back to 800 MHz, if it didn't simply reset it...
*update* gives me bootloop after a few minutes

In case you didn't know, there are a lot of other new threads which discuss about OCing...All the info in this thread is obsolete.
I have only 600Mhz.
I cant overclock only underclock, even with OC-Kernel.
The problem is on Stock Firmware 2.3.3 and Costoum Roms.
Is there a Hardware-Bug or what else?
Not all chips are made to the same quality. They only have to reach a certain clock speed to pass quality checks. Certain devices can be overclocked due to being of higher quality.

Yes but the default clock of the ACE is 800Mhz right? But MY default clock is 600Mhz.
I dont have any options to overclock only from 124Mhz - 600Mhz.
The default clock of 800Mhz would be ok for me..
You sure its a ace? Galaxy fit / mini & 551 / europa are 600mhz MSM7227 vs 800mhz MSM7227-t 800mhz galaxy gio / ace.
Yes! Its definitely a ACE i have the Samsung box here .. and there are a big label Galaxy ACE "800Mhz CPU"
Which rom are you using? Did you have the same problem on stock rom?
Do you have setcpu, if you do go on Info ; CPU what does it say ; Cpu Part / Cpu Revision / Hardware / Revision ?
If problem presist then go to Samsung service centre and change your phone dude

Hi @Cr0nFixXx!...
It would seem to me that your problem is your Kernel... The details in your first thumbnail show the kernel to be that of a different dev to @Ketut...!!! Your OC Kernel details should read as this : 2.6.35.7-perf-CL562111 [email protected]#4
The frequencies of the Cpu are governed solely by the kernel, so this is without a doubt your limiting factor...
The below kernel is tried & tested by thousands of users & is stable under OC...(check my sig for details)...
You can download this kernel from my dropbox here : http://dl.dropbox.com/u/44779766/cm-7.1-oc-kernel-2.6.35.7-perf-CL562111.zip
Flash this kernel from CWM recovery... Reboot phone, go to cyanogen setting/Performance & you should get the full cpu range for OC...
To see stable max OC set governor to "Performance"... Remember, only increase cpu frequency a little at a time & test for stability before increasing further...
Only when you have found your max stable clock speed can you tick "set on boot"...
FYI : OC kernels can only be used with custom roms... They will not work with stock roms... @Ketut's OC kernel will only work with CM7.1 / 7.2 Roms... Do not try with any other rom...
Stay Breezy n Be Lucky...
Pe"ACE"...
Thanks for your help but .. same problem
I even cant get it to 800Mhz Default Clock

Hey Dude...
This is a very strange problem indeed... The Armv6 cpu is standard 600mhz cpu but samsung factory OC it when it is used in our aces... so we end up with an end-user frequency of 806mhz... Yours won't even reach that out of the box...?
Do me a favour... Flash this rom here : http://dl.dropbox.com/u/44779766/IceCreamSundayFinal_Tweaked.zip
It is IceCreamSunday Final by @Jusada... It is considered the fastest & most stable rom available on XDA & the OC kernel is inclusive of the rom...
Once flashed, go to cyanogenmod settings, performance, cpu & tell me what frequencies you get offered...?
FYI : It doesn't matter what your baseband or firmware version is... Ensure that you are using CWM 5 to flash with... Also ensure that before flashing you do a full system, cache, data, Dalvik wipe to ensure a clean flash... This rom is 7.2 btw...
Stay Breezy n Be Lucky...

I dont know whats my phones problem but it dont worked for me -.- even max. 600Mhz...
But great thanks for your help!
LoL the first thing that entered my mind is "maybe samsung forgot to overclock" my suggestion is go to samsung and tell them to overclock that.. or simply say it's defective
approach samsung and get new phone..
man if it showing 600 dont overclock
as overclock can damage your cell
be happy with what you are having

but he should get 800 which he paid for
hey wait isnt ace's cpu like the 600mhz ones but only OC'ed to 800?
I'm done explaining
A fault with the processor probably.. ARMv6 anyway has 600Mhz by default and Ace has been factory overclocked to 800Mhz.. which is the simple reason why each Ace is so different and has so many problems regarding battery life. Overclocking is a delicate procedure..
To the point:
Just take it to the service center to get what you paid for!
My Galaxy Aces default cpu 600 mhz i cant overclock, i flashed Cm 7.1 and ketut OC kernel

Hey guys
This is my first try in making kernels it's Rafael Baugis/Bieltv3 kernel with overclock (Hope its a real one)
I also used Merruk-Kernel source to help in modifying.
Well the kernel has 7 frequencies 156MHZ 312MHZ 416MHZ 624MHZ 832MHZ 936MHZ 1.248GHZ and ext4/rfs support (Not sure if it mounts both FS at the same time but ti has to)
If you get lags with high frequencies change governor / IO
How to install :
Open Odin, put it in PDA section and flash

according to the no frills stats both the frequencies are working fine....
on 936 mhz and governor smartass v2.+ cfq(io).i have a stable stock rom..but battery drains quiet fast..i think the higher frequencies are not undervolted.thanks for the kernel..it would be better if cm support is added..i have found many tutorials for app building..but never found some for kernel building..can u help me with some online stuff.??
edit:-headphones donot work with stock rom..music only work with speakers.
Hmmm . . . 1.248GHZ Frequency? . . . I hope this freq. will dont burn out our phones? . . . i think overclock over 1 GHz it's only for phone suiciders xD btw good work :good: i'll try this kernel later i have a suggesstion . . . can you add OC 1.024 GHz?

I dont think overclock is true....its just false values of lower frequency like 936mhz is 624mhz and 1.24ghz is 832mhz.....it is just a placebo effect......many advanced devs in galaxy y thread have tried to overclock our cpu but the result is non prodictive.....i think we need views of senior dev on this matter......

Thats what i am trying to say.....merruk tried to overclock and at first thought that it worked but further examination showed it doesnt work and merruk then confirmed that overclock didnt work....its just a placebo effect....why dont you search his thread in galaxy y forum......same thing happend with rafauel's kernel......you can even contact hell_lock regarding this,he will tell you more about this technically......
So for now i still believe overclock is not true for our device at present.....

Yes it's true I just installed SetCPU and none of the frequencies 416 936 1248 are shown.I tried adding 1500 and the is stable because its always running on 832mhz.
But I didn't understand why 416mhz didn't work did I messed sth ?
hi everyone
to my knowledge, the frequencies are selected by register, According to what we said at the time Rafael in his forum.
The only possibility was to examine some new devices with the chip bcm21553 having frequencies above 1Ghz
Not answer how i know that, i only readed in the rafael kernel section
