I'm not impressed with the battery % or the home to menu. My battery % is in the battery to save space and my HTC logo is my menu button so I still can hold home for Google now

Got to be rooted and have to install a custom kernel that supports it. Heads up all custom kernels as far as I know has bluetooth calling issues due to HTC not releasing proper source. Streaming is fine.

Same here... Honestly, I haven't had faith in custom kernels since using them on the original EVO. They were the cause of too many issues. Random reboots, freezes, serious lag, etc.

I'm more or less looking forward to the possible radio update that may come with 4.2.2. Could really care less for the new Android version that doesn't change much.

I'm looking forward to not having the added "..." menu bar on non-JB menu compliant apps, that alone is making me impatient for sprint to release the update. I haven't heard anything about eta for that though...anyone else know?

Haven't heard anything in regards to a release for the Sprint or any US Variant. I know we are supposed to get 4.3 in Q3 though.

Im impressed long pressing home>htc logo as menu. Why? Because when typing it was too easy to attempt to hit space bar and instead hit menu. This will fix that problem.

Can you be a little bit more specific. There is a solution for all but Sprint versions. Is there a Sprint specific kernel which supports the logo?

If this is the "new" HTC, I'm thoroughly impressed so far. The phone itself is top notch, the unlock actually allows us to flash every part of the phone (unlike on the EVO 4G LTE), and now their follow through with source code has been timely. I for one am very happy of their change of direction.

That was fast! Maybe a new kernel will convince me to root now. The phone is so sweet stock, compared to my OG Evo. I just need to squeeze more battery life out of this thing. A new custom kernel will definitely help that. Things should get exciting soon!

Now if they'd release the kernel source for any one of the 1.29.xxx.12 OTA's I could figure out wtf they did to fix the damn home/back button sensitivity.
Now I can finally get to work!

Possible fix for unresponsive capacitive buttons?

Seems to me this is really working, could you please try and post in here how's it working? Also mention your fw revision.

For the lazy, it's as simple as disabling vibration in sound>vibration on touch.

I've had 'vibration on touch' turned off since day 1 and my buttons are still problematic
I've had vibration disabled since day 1 and still had problems.
After the latest update (1.29.401.12) I have not experienced any issues with the capacitive buttons. It's much more responsive.

I have had problems with the capacitive buttons until I installed a custom Rom with the .13 base.
Much much better. I honestly dont have issues anymore. Before it would happen all too frequently.
I am with Rogers in Canada and I can't be bothered to wait for them to push an update.

You are mean't to turn it on, click your button and go back and turn it off (the vibration), then it should be fine after that (until a reboot). It's worked for me.
That pic is extremely clear. I'm using a RAZR and get nothing like that. Nice

Upgrade time - How's the CM experience?

Upgrade just came up and I was considering getting the One. Loved CM10 on my Epic Touch 4G and was curious what the experience was like on this device. The button configuration seems odd on this phone so I wanted to get people's thoughts. Also, is the camera as bad as some say?
Thanks in advance.

But the HTC one is riddled with QC issues and doesn't really improve much over the last Gen of phones. The next Gen has snapdragon 800, 3000 mAh batteries and whatnot. Plus, the 800s are really close. Like the G2 is already here.
The One isn't that good IMHO. The camera is overhyped really and the number of defects people are reporting make this phone worth skipping.
To stay on track with your question the CM experience is something I don't think someone in their right mind would recomend. Hell it has a tendency to burn up some phones and need replaced.

I agree if your sole decision is CM. Then wait. Cm was better on my gs3 than on here. It's pretty buggy and as has been said there are many reports of people's phones bricking cause of cm. To the quality control issue... I have had none, this phone has been great in that regard... But maybe I'm just lucky . In all honesty, overall this is the best phone I've ever owned. I don't think you'd go wrong with this phone.

My $0.02:
For the short while I was able to use CM, I wasn't exactly blown away. It was exactly the same as my GS2, but with better specs. There were no extra features or anything. It looked nice with Black Infinitum, but again, not really different from my old phone. There were some bugs, so...
And you do have to watch out for the max freq lock, which will burn up your phone as it sits.
EDIT: However, CM Nemesis is coming soon. I would still wait for for a new device with better specs, but hey, this is a fairly new device.

I really haven't had any issues since 10.1
Sent from my One using XDA Premium HD app
I used it for a week while on vacation and while it was nice to see a less bloated One with all the additional customization .. there were several issues and features that made me go back.
The biggest was GPS lock - I could not get a steady lock and if I did the radius was quite large, throwing me all over the map.
The phone actually seemed less responsive overall - including a slight delay when turning on the phone.
Missed the htc car app - google car and the ones from the market are not the same
and the IR - now it has only come in handy once, when my remote died; however, the remote can be fun at the bar
The HTCOne is a unique phone, the button layout is strange and is my biggest headache. Contrary to most posts above I like the CM experience on it better then sense, but this is my first (and only ever!) sense phone. I much prefer the AOSP experience. CM is lacking in a few places but core functionality is there and works good enough for me for daily use, for the record I'm on 10.2 20130819
Truthfully though I think I would wait for a new nexus device. I love the feel of the One in my hand but it's nothing amazing hardware wise.

Does the music still sound wonky? 10.1 would make my songs really quiet then normal then quiet etc. It drove me crazy.
Also, does the wake still take like a second? That was also a problem with 10.1.

This is a guide that got me to root and S-OFF.
Most of the roms in development are sense 5.5 now while there are few who stayed on sense 5. You can just flash whichever one you would like too. DO NOT flash any of the international roms unless they specifically say "Sprint Support" you cant imagine how many times people do this.
Here is a thread that has them listed for your convenience http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2469782
As for the wifi tether mod, most of the roms already have it included I believe

[Mod] HTC Extreme Power Saver

Hey everyone.
I thought it kinda sucked that our phones didn't come with the Extreme Power Saving mode so I did some tinkering around with the smali and here you have it!
I flashed this on the completely stock odexed ROM using TWRP 2.7.0.0 and it worked perfectly.
Enjoy!
PS. I'm not liable if you blow up your phone. Make a nandroid!
Here's a link to google drive, XDA is being weird about uploading it.
Just hit File ---> Download

Only caveat I've noticed so far is that it takes a little bit for apps that rely on background sync to reengage. For example, if you go into the play store it doesn't see that background sync is on unless I kill the app.
