Hi.
I have a HTC One silver 32GB from 8th April (Germany o2)
I unlocked Bootloader.
Rercovery on it.
Did backup of phone.
Flashed Trickdroid.
Deleted it and restored backup.
Thats what I did on begin of may.
Then after 2 weeks...
Was playing Real racing 3. Phone is as always hot. Battery must be like 50%
I put it on charger for 20 mins.
When I pull charger off. LED goes off as usual but phone does nothing anymore.
Can't enter bootloader. Can't start. Can't Soft reset. Nothing works. Booting to Bootloader via One-All-In-OIne Kit and USB Cable doesn't work since it can't detect phone.
Stupid company said that unlocking Bootloader voids warranty so..
What can I do? I will try to stop contract because there are European rules that in first 6 month they gotta do everything.
Ty for ur help.
EDIT: The repairing company did send me a pic of bootloader. Btw HOW did they get there?
Link here http://s7.directupload.net/images/130601/jegffwjh.jpg <---

try putting the phone under a bright light(dont cover light sensor with your finger) and hold power+volume down until it boots to bootloader

so... did it work?

If your phone won't turn on then how are they going to know it's been unlocked? Just send it back to them
R u in the UK?
PS: Just noticed your in Germany.

I can verify that the light trick works. Someone else on here said its because HTC wanted to prevent somebody from hitting those two buttons in their pocket and resetting the phone. So they make the phone be in a bright light in order for you to reset the phone in that manner

I really tried as good as everything. And I can not call the repairing company to ask how they got into the bootloader... lol.
I gonna try to get the contract off tomorow tholugh.
Anyone has ideas?

Have you tried having it plugged into the computer and doing the bright light trick?
I know it was an OMAP processor but it worked on my Galaxy Nexus
Sent from my Nexus 10 using Tapatalk HD

Outdoor light did not work for me. I had to hold the phone directly above a light bulb. As soon as I did that it booted right up and has been fine ever since. It went into the shut down mode you described as I was copying files to a USB drive via an OTG Cable.

Got the same issue... Light doesn't work (Tryed LED Flashlight normal Bulb or Halogen....) Last Try could be light from my car...
@uZzY94
Where did you send Phone to reapir ?

Grrrrr another bricked SXL

So i go to pick up my phone earler, and it's unresponsive, i pulled the battery and presses the power button, all i get is the standard 5 vibrates For the money, i don't think these phones are well put together. I'm going to return mine tomorow, I've lost the recept though so guess im screwed
Plug it into a mains charger and leave it for an hour or so
Then unplug it, remove the battery and power on holding volume down
If that works you'll be in the bootloader and all is not lost
It's probably just a miscalibrated battery which is easy enough to fix

Thanks for the heads up. I'm trying to get the retailer to replace it at the mo. If that fails i'll be using that service
Just an update guys, after trying a replacement battery without any luck. today the o2 store agreed to replace my SXL tomorow

Bricked?

This morning i woke up, and my touchpad wont boot. It was on the charger all night.
The most i can get is 1 of 2 states
1.) Battery icon with a question mark
2.) Home/Center button has an alternating light going left and right
Ive tried Power + Home, and thats how i get between the two states, though its sorta random which one i end up in.
I cant get to USB/Download mode(Power vol up)
Is there anything else I can try?
I know you said you can't get into USB/Download but I'm not sure which method you've tried. Are you trying to hit vol up just after powering the device on? I've had better luck with turning it off completely, holding vol up, then connecting the USB cable from the computer.
Also, there seem to be several threads in the Q&A section with the same or similar problem. Have you read through those and tried any of those methods?

I have tried that. Ive googled as much as i can and i cant find what the "alternating left and right lights on the home button" mean. Turns out our home button is 2 LED's.
I havent found a success story related to the battery Icon question mark.

Does your pc see the tp if you connect it? If the home/center button is flashing it means you have power, so all is not lost (yet, at least). Did you have it charging on the wall charger or the touchstone. If the touchstone, try leaving it charging on the wall charger overnight. I hope this helps.

Yea, my fear is that since i couldnt power it on, i couldnt remove CM
Its gonna be pretty obvious once its fixed thats it there lol. If they try that **** with me, I wont be paying htem anything, i considered the TP dead, the warranty is a last resort.
What was wrong with your TP?

New phone won't turn on - red light?

So I just got my new Xperia T today, and I've charged it for about an hour and a half and it won't turn on. All it gives me is a flashing red light sometimes, but not always. Any ideas?
EDIT: just checked the manual and it says when the device is charging it should give a little orange light by the notification LED. I don't get this light showing at all.

Just tried and didn't work
It's not showing the orange light, which makes me think it's not charging at all. And yep, I've tried three plugs, all of which charge my Transformer Prime fine

It was from a CeX shop, but it was literally brand new, never been turned on before that; they had to turn it on to test it, so I assume it's worked before.
So I'm pretty sure it's not charging; the red light occasionally flashes when I press the power button (not always though), but the orange light isn't showing up. I've tested the cable, plug and socket with my Kindle and it charges just fine.

Yep, I'll go back tomorrow or Monday and get another phone or get my money back. Appears to be something wrong with the charging port or the battery. I have 12 months warranty on the phone from CeX, so I'm safe.

Might phone Sony up on Monday and just see if they have solutions. If they offer to replace I'll say I'll go to the shop I bought it at (CeX) and get my money back. Would rather wait for the Nexus 4 than get it replaced.
Fair enough. Just wondering why you changed your mind though to get the nexus? Curious to see what an unbiased person thinks (I'm hoping you're unbiased lol)

Sad, because I love Sony (had every PlayStation and planning to get a Bravia) and was really looking forward to giving this a go

Hard Brick, Qualcomm download mode

Looks like my HTC One is bricked.
What pisses me off is I didnt do modify anything except S-OFF couple of weeks ago before the 4.2.2 update.
All stock.
Was about to turn off my AC with the One, and it just would turn on.
Charging light is off, connecting it to PC shows its identified as QHSUSB_DLOAD.
Seems like it's qualcomm download mode. No ADB no Fastboot, no nothing.
No idea what happened to it.
QPST software detects it is in Qualcomm download mode, and probably allows flashing a new boot image and phone image. Any idea how to push the boot image to the phone using QPST?
Thanks,

If it's a dead emmc chip then I reckon you will still be covered by warranty if it's a corrupted hboot and you send it back I guess it's down to HTC to decide but whatever happens I hope you get your phone back up and running soon.

Well indeed a dead emmc chip there is nothing I can do. Also, I did not unlock the bootloader and it's not tampered, so I suppose they should also cover it. The only thing is I bought it off Amazon France, and live in Israel, so the warranty procedure will be a pain in the a**.
If you can't turn it on neither can HTC...
Warranty should be fine. If it broke after running OK without you doing anything it's most likely emmc
I assume you have tried
1) holding power button down for 10 to 20 secs (whilst shining s bright light on phone - seriously)
2) immediately after step 1 then hold down power button whilst holding volume down button.
This is worth trying to ensure it won't boot into boot loader

The bright light trick works, something to do with the sensors. Worth a shot anyways.
Also, if you bought from Amazon, why not just return it to them as defective and get a full refund? They have a great return policy, and you won't have to worry about HTC warranty at all. Just a thought.

I'll give it a try in the morning. I left the damn brick in the office.
Regarding Amazon, if I'm not mistaken the return policy is 30 days, while I've had the phone since May. Or am I wrong and can still return it?

That's from the US site. Sounds like the window is 30 days for most items, but I think I read that for electronics, it's 90 days. It says you can go to your order and click on returns and it will give you the status. Also, says even after 30 days for normal items, they will refund 80%. Worth checking out anyways. Good luck to you....

Well, lucky you suggested that. First I found out the phone im using was from Amazon.de and not Amazon.fr (I ordered from both, kept the first to arrive and sold the second). Amazon.de seems to have a much better return policy and I can still probably return it if I understand correctly with my poor German and Google Translate.
The only bummer is that I wont get back the taxes paid (We have 35% tax on cellphones). But if I have a problem with HTC warranty (Although probably shouldnt have), I'll just return it to Amazon.

[Q] HTC Vivid Bricked?

Hello all! i usually don't come over to this side of xda, i'm more of a Samsung guy lol
my friend gave me her nonworking HTC Vivid and told me to try and revive it for her. she said that the screen is broken, but i don't believe that's the case. every so often when i press the power button, the screen lights up (black), and when it's charging (as it is now), the screen is also lighting up (black) and the LED light is orange. any help would be appreciated
also as a side note: does anyone know if you can take out the SIM tray? just curious. thanks all

my friend gave me her nonworking HTC Vivid and told me to try and revive it for her. she said that the screen is broken, but i don't believe that's the case. every so often when i press the power button, the screen lights up (black), and when it's charging (as it is now), the screen is also lighting up (black) and the LED light is orange. any help would be appreciated
also as a side note: does anyone know if you can take out the SIM tray? just curious. thanks all

is the LED light blinking when charging? take out the battery and put it back in. Then hold the power button and vol down and then release the power button and see if you can get into the bootloader

no, the LED light stays on constant. i've tried both of those methods many times before, no go
OK... Let's try this... Just to give us a better idea...
Pull the battery...
Pull the sim card...
Pull the sdcard...
Replace the battery... Try to turn it on...
Now... Does it vibrate?

neither SIM or SD Card is in the device, pulled battery and tried to turn it on, no vibrate or anything, however the screen alternates between off and black screen
OK... Next round...
Was it stock... Locked bootloader?
Hmm...
Have you tried plugging it into USB and booting it?
Are we sure the battery has a charge... And I'm asking because if you have CWM on there it will not charge while off...

OK... If we think the device is on... Let's plug into your computer and see if adb can see it...
I am beginning to lean towards a loose connection somewhere...

We got one more try here...
Make sure you have the fast boot drivers for the phone...
Make sure you have the right RUU
Pull the battery... Put it back...
Hold vol- and press power...
Count to 30...
Plug the phone in...
Try to run an RUU...

Link...no...
But... The fastboot stuff is bundled with HTC Sync... And you can find an RUU on goo.im
As long as HTC didn't make them take it down... I think it might also be available on the HTC website
