The dev version should since it's fully unlocked. From what I've read all the Americas versions should have the same radios, it's just a matter of which ones are unlocked. If I'm wrong through the community will quickly correct me

We know that there is more than one version of the htc one coming out soon, we have the international version and we have the ones coming on att, tmobile, and sprint, Telus etc
We also have the dev edition of the phone coming soon.
Is there gonna be different threads for the one, or is all roms compatible with all phones?

All roms should be compatible. All HTC One uses the same hardware(Other than the 64gb which should have different nand chip) but it doesn't matter.
Unless you will be using the chinese version which is rumored to have dual sim, 8mp, micro sd slot and alot more of different hardware components.
I'm saying this because I had an hox plus
The international version and the lte version had the same hardware and yet there roms where not compatible with each other

I highly doubt all roms will be compatible with all versions. There are hardware differences between international /US models, cdma/gsm models. There will be separate forums for each model. Be patient.
Does anybody else have any thoughts on this, I'm afraid if I buy the att version I won't get the internationals mods and roms

This. A rom can be set up to support multiple carriers and things like that, but it wouldn't be installed the same way for each phone

I wouldn't bet on separation. I'm a Hox+ owner and the dev section is a nightmare. International and US are together in one forum and nothing is compatible. Not roms or recoveries. There has been many requests to separate them and they were denied. Plenty of threads started about it and the majority ended up in flame wars. :crying:
Are the US models the same? Tmobile, ATT and Sprint? If so wouldn't that be a first? Cant be, Sprint doesn't use sim cards..
Who will get the best development though, if there are different version for each carrier? Would it be the international?

The gs3 forum is separated, I would like to guess the htc one forum would be too.

Yes the international will get the most support. at least that's how the One X and X+ worked out.

I hope so. Go browse through the One X+ dev section and pretend you have an ATT version. See how many roms and threads are irrelevant. Probably 80%

So the unlocked/developer edition version is the UL?
as of now the only difference between dev edition and regular edition is the 64 gb? (assuming i unlock the bootloader myself)
also can anyone confirm if the differences between US/EU/ASIA models in the radio bands is due to different hardware or to software limitations?
more to the point, if i buy the europeane model, could i be able to flash the asian radio to get the 850 mhz 3g band?
pls can anyone answer :fingers-crossed::fingers-crossed: especially the second Q.
i searched the forums but havn't found an answer
There's no way to do that so far...

don't think so but it is very easy, you only need to flash the proper radio.zip into recovery and you're done..

It won't work. Check the international forum of HTC One here at xda. There are already countless people flashing a EU variant radio on their AT&T, T-Mobile & Asian variants HTC One yet the frequencies still remain the same.
thanks.
I really wish that htc had made it easier to get a hold of this device. most people can't get the 64gb developer's as it's obtainable only in the u.s.
and all the other editions are currently very scarce, and hard to find. and even if you find one, it may not work proparly with your carrier. not to mention that if you travel alot this device won't do because of the different bands in each country.
i appolagize for the rant, but it's really frustuating, i really wanted to buy the htc one.

Each phone supports a different set of wireless data technologies and frequencies.
The unbranded/developer edition is most like the AT&T version.

go with att (1st choice) or Tmobile. not sprint unless you have to. development wise all ROMs are behind the curve for thawt one.

There's a very high chance you'll get the developer edition.
All the gsm models are identical except for the enabled frequencies.
tmo is the only one with 1700 aws
Dev has additional international freq, not incl 1700
If sticking in the US the tmo HTC one offers more flexibility. Since it offers both AT&T and Tmo 3G/LTR bands.
Only different with the Sprint and future Verizon models are the added CDMA radios. And partition layout

So if my cousin bought HTC ONE DEV EDITION from the web htc on usa

Hey all,
I was originally going to get a LG G2 but I recently changed my mind as some of the features of the Moto X and it's near stock ui has me very intrigued. The problem is that I live outside of the US and I was wondering if the T-Mobile GSM Unlocked version that is available on Motorola's site is truly unlocked and if I would be able to use it in my country. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Sorry I just noticed that I posted this in the wrong section. Please forgive me.

hi, im using a tmobile version in my country malaysia, all good, even 4G.
There are loads of topics talking about this, give it a search!
It is truly unlocked. In posting on a TMo Moto X right now on a different carrier. They're basically the same as the developer edition.

I really want to know it shows 4G or 4G LTE of your XT1053 at Malaysia, thanks!
It should be LTE. It's the Verizon version you'll get screwed with on the LTE outside US. Afaik the T-Mobile version is global LTE. But I'd need someone to confirm
