I'm not really sure if qpst works with this phone for prl's as i tend to do any modifications on the device itself and haven't used that program in a few years. As for the ##778#, in order for it to work you need a modified build.prop to do it. It's a simple mod but you need root access to do so. Currently i'm running viper and have my phone on a sprint corporate 56013 prl.

Does that PRL do 3g roaming?
TIA.
You have to be rooted I believe, but can still be on stock rom. Omjs mod pack has the updated epst stuff, I had asked him for it. Then you can do the prl updates on phone.

I was hoping not to have to dev unlock it just yet in case I change my mind about the phone.
yeah, 56013 is a corporate prl so it allows for roaming on verizon 3g network. i rarely ever see 1x on my phone unless i'm waaay out in the boonies.
If there becomes a way to root outside htcdev unlock, you could temp root and then make the adjustment in the build prop so ##778# responds. Until then, htcdev unlock is the only way to get root at the moment.

I grabbed it out of the sgs3 forum. There's a thread with all the prls in it. Zip was called 56xxx.zip I think. I'd post a link but I'm kinda slammed at work

fyi---##778# wont work on a stock ROM because you need to change ro.build.type=user to ro.build.type=dev in \system\build.prop

Your problem is not from rooting. You may have inadvertently messed up something in your system partition. Try to lg flash tool back to stock.

⬆⬆⬆⬆ Rooting cannot break knock on. I would try
1. Make sure it's on and toggle it either way
2. Factory reset after making a LG backup and dragging that file over to your computer. Then reset and drag the file back To the LGbackup folder on your phone. Restore from backup and the whole process shouldn't take more than 5min and you're phone will be exactly the way you had it setup still.

You need to update your touch firmware in the hidden service menu. I could provide you with how to get there if you had mentioned what variant of the flex you have

I'd LOVE to know how to fix this issue on AT&T 950 variant. That's the only thing keeping me from flashing back to 4.2.2 so I can install custom recovery. If you know how to fix it when I downgrade from KK to JB I'd be forever grateful.

Like justinwidebody suggested dial 3845#*959# then click "Settings" then "Update Touch Firmware"
or in Geners case I think you have to dial 3845#*950#

Actually the hidden menu on Sprint does not have the option to fix it. The work around is go into the general section and download my Sprint unlock Rom which is a att Rom. Then use the att dialer code and get into the hidden menu. Then go into recovery and run a back up. You will have knock on again.

I have flashed the LS995 Rom that you provided to return to stock, and yet the knock on is not working. I dont know why.
Yes, the ATT Rom that you provided is great, it can repair the Knock by access the dialer code.
After I fix the knock on, and I use TWRP backup to restore System, Data, Cache, EFS, Boot, but the knock on is gone again on Sprint Rom.
Do you have any guide to restore back the knock?Or I perform a wrong way?
Or perhaps there's a way just to get the touch firmware from AT&T or AT&T Hidden menu LoL and install it to Sprint LS995 Rom.
I would appreciate your help.

Try again. A friend of mine gave me a flex to fix.. At first, it was rooted and had a custom ROM on it. Something from mii.com. anyway. The only version it would accept is d955 so I put that on it. Imei and baseband were unknown so I put d950 on it somehow. Now, the imei and baseband are showing but it still will not accept a Sim.
What can I do?
Just make sure that is unlocked for any carrier. If not you can follow instructions on G2 forum.Unlocking steps are identical for flex and g2.

Will this fix the radio being turned off? It says... Service state: radio off
Sent from my LGLS740
Yes it will, but three things needs to be done.
1.modem firmware must match
2.successfully unlocked Rom will accept your SIM.
3.set the radio to desired type ( gsm, cdma etc.)

At the end if you settings are grayed out (can't turn data on or change band type) use app like radio switcher. That will help you out.

Did everything EXACTLY as said. There was no carrier folder on the Flex, so I had to create one. It is still doing the same exact thing! I put a SIM in.. it doesn't even DETECT it and the Radio is STILL OFF.

It's called exactly. ro.build.target_operator=" ......" change this. ...... to OPEN. Use build prop editor from play store to change from a ATT or SPR or TMO to OPEN. Insert SIM and reboot. That's it.

Edit: Every time I change it, upon restart it goes back to ATT.. Also, on this Flex, with or without a Sim card it says radio off...but on my wife's flex, without a Sim it says "out of service".... Is there any way to fix this phone? Jeeeez. When I remove the Sim...the non working flex notices it has no Sim and says it needs a valid one to work??
Then you're not doing it right
