[Q] Fix for Mobile Networks Turning Off? - One (M7) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I hope I'm not the only one with this problem. About 2-3 times a week, my HTC One loses all data connectivity and takes a while to turn back on. It happens when I'm just sitting around in the same spot not even moving.
Also, I constantly have error messages when sending texts. It's the red exclamation point.
Anyone have any idea what's going on? I've done about three resets and even tried rooting my phone and installing a stock rom. Nothing. I'm using a T-Mobile variant on T-Mobile.

Nothing?

It happens to me occasionally but after I wake the device up from deep sleep; it would sometimes take a while for it to connect to Mobile Network and then it would work fine from then on. It happens about once every two or three days, but it doesn't really bother me much, to be honest. A reboot always quickly fixes it as well.

GS2-G regularly drops cellular network entirely AT&T

I've done some searching on this, but so far nobody's problem seems to match up with mine. Any help would be much appreciated!
I bought my wife and I both international Galaxy phones to use on AT&T's network. I have a Galaxy Note, and my wife has a GS2-G. My phone is super stable, but my wife's phone will regularly drop all cellular connectivity with no warning. About once a day or so, it just drops everything. Wifi will still connect, but the phone can't text, make calls, or get data. The signal bars are replaced with a circle with a slash through it. This doesn't happen when we're moving from cell to cell. It often happens while she's at work (in the same building all day), and this weekend it happened twice at home. We have great reception at our house, too.
Her phone is setup using the APN settings for a "medianet" phone, found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1196118.
Otherwise, it's running stock 2.3.6 baseband XXKL4.
i am experiencing similar problems.losing signal totally without any hint.
not once a day but sometimes it happens to me also.

i too have this problem. i too sit in the office the whole day. same spot. and this happens frequent enough to piss me off. i raised this issue several times in other discussions, and they keep saying its probably network issue or a faulty phone.
1. i use this same network on my previous phone (iphone), and its fine
2. i cant just send it for warranty cause they will keep the phone for a week or 2 to troubleshoot. so i dont want to be without the phone for that period of time without knowing for sure its a faulty phone.
since i see quite a few people going through and thanks to projectrally, i hope we can all narrow this problem down to what may be the cause, and take necessary action.

i have tried flashing diff roms, modems, kernels. i have disabled fast dormancy, and problem still persist.
Got this problem yesterday for the first time , I had to reboot.
When the problem occured, i tried to find network but the phone kept searching...
...
Same problem here! I think all we can do is wait for the ics update.
That should fix it...
P.S: It usually happens when im running low on battery...
im still not sure if its a software or hardware issue
yup i have the same prob to sometimes..after rebooting the phone it works jst fine.. but its quite annoying rebooting the phone when it happens
but it doesn't happen so often as u all described.. mayb once or most twice happens to me in a day ...
Maybe its a hardware problem, LG Optimus 3D has also this problem of "ghost calls" and have the same hardware (TI OMAP 4430)
After ICS update i am facing the same problem. Before i read this thread, i thought it is a software bug but now it seems to be a hardware problem.

I cannot answer my phone!!!

Ok so not sure what the heck i did but I cannot answer my phone.
It is rooted, and does not have ICS, pretty standard goods.
About 2 days ago i turned on the phone and lots of my on screen apps were gone from the screen, still on the phone but just gone from the scrolling screens.
Phone rings yesterday and i hear it, but the caller ID never pops up and I cannot answer the phone, no option to do so what so ever.
I press the phone icon and it just shows the keypad and again no option to answer the phone.
Something else i noticed is the swipe down options are gone as well. GPS, DATA, etc, it does not even swipe down at all.
Entertaining suggestions
The weekend is here and I REALLY need my phone lol
Cheers

I tried that before and nothing, i think it may be the rom i have installed.
Sometimes it will just crash and reboot too.
I guess I should go back to the stock rom maybe, but i did a titanium backup before but it did not backup and i lost all of my s memo notes amongst other things.
Grrr
May just donate it to the concrete.

(asks if u want to load custom OS) Odin Mode
or if i press volume down and reset phone
i just get the loading screen from whatever firmware i put on there when i first starting adding roms and so on ages ago
bump
ok, what if you try instead of pressing volume down press volume up and clear data and cache? And then again put it in download mode and try to restart? I am not sure I understand what exactly is you problem...

The problem is that whether i do vol up or vol down it still just cycles and never comes out of that mode.
I have gone and did the data wipe and then vol down and it just cycles and never stops. I recall this issue when i installed the rom but it said it may take time but if longer than 5 min take the battery out and reset. I have done this and nothing.
So now, i did vol up again and i get the Android guy and it reads at the top Odin Mode and downloading, do not turn off target. And this just never does anything.
Cant take it to Orange for fix because it has custom firmware and they will tell me to have a nice day, warranty voided.

Does this work on the NON AT&T version, i live in the UK and have a different version

[Q] HTC One dialer fails to call on the first attempt

When I click on a phone number hyper link which takes me to the dialer or just simply put in a phone number that I want to call, the first attempt fails (no exception). I need to redo the typing (meaning I have to ask for the phone number again) or get back to the website and click on the same link for the 2nd time and then the "Call" button actually calls the number rather than clearing the number and not doing anything.
The 3rd, 4th and so on, attempts are find and I don't know what triggers the bug again. Maybe putting the phone to sleep for a certain period of time or something that I have no idea about.
I checked the stock dialer apps I have on the phone and there are 3 of them (maybe since I upgraded to lollipop and all)
Dialer v6.3.842521
Phone v6.3.84.6049
Phone v6.3.857190
I have a stock Android 5.0.2 with HTC Sense v6.0 and recently factory resetted the phone which didn't fix the problem. The only app which interferes with the dialer is the Avast Anti Theft which uses the dialer to accept a phone number (pass code) which takes the user to the hidden Anti-theft app. So, say, if I dial my hidden code 1234, and press call, the phone takes me to the app rather than actually dialing the number 1234.

Solved. The problem occurs with the app zadarma sip installed and only when Wi-Fi is turned on. I've deleted the app and now everything is OK

Xperia Z dead!?

Hello!
My sister has Xperia Z and she tried to update it, but after that it started shutting down after using certain apps..after a factory reset it just stopped booting..it just goes to the sony logo and resets and repeats that..i tried flashing a stock rom thru sony pc companion, it went with no errors and the same thing happens..then i flashed a stock rom with flash tool and same thing all over again..what can i do??
I've been experiencing the same.
I updated my wife's xperia z to lollipop after a couple weeks it was released. But I ended up totally wiped the phone and updated to a fresh lollipop.
Now after 2weeks it just randomly shut down and does not boot up.
I've also tried repairing via Sony companion software, but the just shows Sony and xperia and shuts down.
Anyone help?

Well, you both have to try re-flashing ROM and then wipe all the caches (I suppose).
If it didn't help try to downgrade by flashing lower version of android (4.4.4) or if your warranty status is till valid you can send your phone to Sony Service
Its just outside the warranty so that's out the question
I'll have a look at flashing with 4.4 fw

Well whataya know. It's fixed.
The phone was stuck on 96% and I just left it on charge for a bit longer. Kept an eye on it to see if it would reach 100%,, and once it did, turned it on and it has started up.
Thanks for your quick reply lauryn
UPDATE:
I'm confused right now.
So I setup the phone and after 10min or so I noticed a couple updates, e.g. xperia lounge, PlayStation video. I was manually updating pictures and the phone just turned off.
Tried turning on again but it shut down after the Sony/xperia screen.
Plugged the phone back to charger and noticed charge was at 96%, pressed power button to turn on, and the phone has turned on.
I'm thinking there may be an issue with the battery?
I think I'll drain the battery and see what happens.

Nexus 6 WiFi stuck at turning on

So i've had this issue for a while now. It started off inconspicuously where my phone would hang and reboot everytime it wasn't plugged in to the charger and the wifi was turned on with charge less than 60%. This caused a ton of bootloops so I figured it was a battery issue and i've ordered a new battery. Also, i stopped receiving OTAs from google so i had to manually flash factory images to update my nexus. Now, i had this problem where the wifi would get stuck at turning on but after a few reboots it'd work. However since flashing the N8I11B update (i realized later that i should have been a little more thorough with my research as this was for Verizon users only) my wifi just wouldn't turn on. It's stuck at turning on and refuses to switch on at all. I flashed the MOB31T version of 6.0.1 and still no luck. I did notice duing setup that the MAC was set to 02:00:00:00:00:00. I tried resetting the network settings but no luck there as well. I'm getting my battery changed soon but i know that has nothing to do with it. I hope its a software issue and not a hardware one because that would mean changing the motherboard and i might as well just buy a new phone with that money. Oh, also data services work fine its only the wifi that isn't working. Also keep in mind that i know nothing about linux shell scripting but i'm willing to do whatever it takes to fix this issue myself.

My bluetooth works. Only wifi is giving problems. No, only stock android on my phone
This happened with my phone. It's an issue with a batch of the Nexus motherboards I believe. Some batch of motherboards made by Motorola have an issue where the wifi chip begins to die after 2-3 years.
If your issue is what I think it is: The only solution is getting a replacement motherboard.
Otherwise, you can try opening the Nexus and reflowing the wifi chip. It worked for a couple of days in my case, but only temporarily. Ended up having to get my mobo replaced.
