Xperia Z dead!? - Xperia Z Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello!
My sister has Xperia Z and she tried to update it, but after that it started shutting down after using certain apps..after a factory reset it just stopped booting..it just goes to the sony logo and resets and repeats that..i tried flashing a stock rom thru sony pc companion, it went with no errors and the same thing happens..then i flashed a stock rom with flash tool and same thing all over again..what can i do??

I've been experiencing the same.
I updated my wife's xperia z to lollipop after a couple weeks it was released. But I ended up totally wiped the phone and updated to a fresh lollipop.
Now after 2weeks it just randomly shut down and does not boot up.
I've also tried repairing via Sony companion software, but the just shows Sony and xperia and shuts down.
Anyone help?

Well, you both have to try re-flashing ROM and then wipe all the caches (I suppose).
If it didn't help try to downgrade by flashing lower version of android (4.4.4) or if your warranty status is till valid you can send your phone to Sony Service

Its just outside the warranty so that's out the question
I'll have a look at flashing with 4.4 fw

Well whataya know. It's fixed.
The phone was stuck on 96% and I just left it on charge for a bit longer. Kept an eye on it to see if it would reach 100%,, and once it did, turned it on and it has started up.
Thanks for your quick reply lauryn
UPDATE:
I'm confused right now.
So I setup the phone and after 10min or so I noticed a couple updates, e.g. xperia lounge, PlayStation video. I was manually updating pictures and the phone just turned off.
Tried turning on again but it shut down after the Sony/xperia screen.
Plugged the phone back to charger and noticed charge was at 96%, pressed power button to turn on, and the phone has turned on.
I'm thinking there may be an issue with the battery?
I think I'll drain the battery and see what happens.

Marij,
Try charging the phone to 100% and turning on the phone with charger plugged in.
See if that works....?

[Q] My xperia TX sometimes cannot wake up

Just bought a xperia TX few weeks ago
But I feel that there are some problems during I use.
Sometimes when I want to wake it up from standby mode
It doesn't wake up and the screen keeps nothing appears
But the notification light still works, so that the phone should still working and not ran out of battery
The solution I use is pull the battery off and place it again....
This happened about 4 times in a week...
My phone is 7.0.A.3.197
even it is rooted or not, the situation still here.
Is there any idea to solve it?
Had exactly the same problem with my T and tried every posible documented solution but nothing worked. So I just dropped my T to service yesterday and expecting to collect it tonight, after that we'll see what the problem really is. The guy from sony said they have had this issue in the U and Sola but nothing reported so far on the T. He claimmed however that for this issue is to be settle in first quarter 2013 via update of course, in those devices. But did not mention something about this in the T.
In anyway I don't feel like is software related, my bet goes to a hardware issue in some unlucky devices.
I started a post here called Xperia T SOD so keep an eye on it as later on I'll report my findings after the Sony Service job.

Sorry for push back the post.
I noticed that this situation happened when I connected to my home's wifi for a long time.
Because during the holidays, the times of my phone suddenly dead from sleeping mode is increased.
I am using mobile data at outside and Wifi at home, and the situation always happen at home, so that I think that the phone maybe dead from sleeping mode in a significant condition, that means the Wifi connection.
I tried to set the wifi keep on during sleep only when plugged in, then the the situation haven't happen again in previous two weeks!

[Q] Sony Xperia T keeps restarting

hi,
Ive got a problem with my SXT. It kept restarting randomly during the day. I rooted it before and was everything fine till one day. Now I cant use my phone cause it keeps restarting all the time. Really strange problem cause phone works fine when its charging.

Does your phone have CWM? Just wipe cache and dalvik cache
Or you can repair your phone by using PCC/Update Service

sorry for my bad english
Hi,
No, I didnt check it. Will do ASAP.
btw. Ive updated my fw to the newest one.
edit. sim card seems to be fine. :/
SIM card placement causes random restarts. Make sure it's on their seated properly and securely.

Having the same issues
Only my phone is also freezing even after repairs using both the PC Companion and also SEUS, reformatting my sd card and also a return to Sony.
SIM card is original Micro Sim It is crashing anything from 5 to 10 times a day, with data and/or wifi turned on. Even with the data and wifi turned off I am getting restarts.
Wondering if returning it to Sony did you any good dajbanana? or whether I need to raise the phone as faulty to the point it needs replacement with Sony GB?
you are using a kernel what is not ment for the rom? i mean, using a cm10 kernel on stock rom for example.

or a new phone?
So the only solution for this issue is to send off to Sony for them to replace the battery components? I had a strong feeling it may be battery related. First(and to be last) phone I have owned which hasnt had a removable battery. But then I wasnt fussed as I have never had to replace a battery on a device in my life!
I am with you. My last phone was Motorola Photon, my friend still has it with original battery and it is 2 years old phone.
This is big fail in mobile device.
Even new battery jumps down by more than 100mV, when you make a call for example. I will try again when it reaches 3,7V (nominal voltage).
It is even worse. About 160mV dropdown when starting a call.
i think the battery was a problem for me to it crapped out and i think thats also a reason why it wont work so goodbye sony hellooooo google/lg

[Q] Maintenance icon after restart...

Hello all,
Today I flashed NUT's 307 FW on my locked bootloader. Everything went fine. I restored my apps with the TB app. After everything was done, I thought of restarted the phone. I shut down and restarted it, after restarting I saw a triangle with a screw driver icon and some progress bar. I didnt touch any button and observe what happens... After some time, it stopped and my phone was restarted successfully.. Can someone tell me what was that? I experienced it for the first time since I bought XZ 2 months back... Thanks..
That's the file system repairing some files. Nothing to worry about. If it ever happens again just let it go. Heard of some cases where it took 6+ hours.

[Q] Fix for Mobile Networks Turning Off?

I hope I'm not the only one with this problem. About 2-3 times a week, my HTC One loses all data connectivity and takes a while to turn back on. It happens when I'm just sitting around in the same spot not even moving.
Also, I constantly have error messages when sending texts. It's the red exclamation point.
Anyone have any idea what's going on? I've done about three resets and even tried rooting my phone and installing a stock rom. Nothing. I'm using a T-Mobile variant on T-Mobile.
Nothing?
I had this problem on my att

It happens to me occasionally but after I wake the device up from deep sleep; it would sometimes take a while for it to connect to Mobile Network and then it would work fine from then on. It happens about once every two or three days, but it doesn't really bother me much, to be honest. A reboot always quickly fixes it as well.

Bootloop for no reason I can think of

Hello. Yes, I have used the search function. Sorry I sound snarky. I'm just really panicky right now.
Some info:
Xperia SP c5303
64gb sd card
Carbon Rom
Have not accessed the internet in two weeks except for sporadic reading of needed things. No app downloads. Probably no app updates
Hello guys. Again. So here's the story. I was happily using carbon rom for nearly two months. No problems whatsoever. So last night I was reading some pdfs when I noticed that I was recieving messages and it showed on pie, yet they didn't appear on the notification list. So I decided to reboot my phone. I did some other things for about 5 hours and checked my phone when I was about to sleep. It was still on the bootlogo. Hardkey power button doesn't work anymore so I used the reset at the back. It would only reset after 10+ seconds with 3 vibrations. No more one vibration offs. I turn on the phone again and go to sleep. 5 hours later it still was on bootloop. Searching xda told me I should wait till the battery runs dry to wipe bad data. So I let it and still the same thing occurs. Using flashtool connects me for a few seconds before disconnecting. My phone's information is not even displayed. Please help. I thank you in advance good people of XDA.
