So I know that there is a Paranoid android ROM that has this feature, but will it ever become an app or something that any phone (specifically the HTC one) can use? Because I'd really like to keep the default ROM and have the HALO feature, because it is one of the most amazing things I've seen!
I know it's open source and would try myself, but I don't know how
Thanks for any help
Would be really hard to implement afaik, so I wouldn't expect anything to happen unfortunately

It will need some serious hacking to work on Sense based roms
AOSP ROMs though it can be compiled into the rom
btw there is already a PA ROM for this device in the original development section, and that has the latest HALO built in
Short answer: No, it's impossible.
But using some app like Floating Notification?
Yeah I've seen floating notification, but that doesn't have the "pop-up application" feature. So even though it is near impossible for a sense ROM, what about as a standalone app?

Wow, I completely gave up on this, but it looks like you've found what I was looking for! Thanks so much, hopefully it works
EDIT: Ok, not what I was looking for, thanks for helping anyway
seems to be working on the One X with Sense ROMs? Correct me if I'm wrong.

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=864157
It's much better than just FroYo without Sense
Yes I´ve tried it a while ago. Couldn´t get used to it though:-(
Thanks for your answer anyway
What Problems do you have with it?
Maybe others can help you to fix them...

It's about as close to 'clean' as you're going to find.

maybe it´s just me, but I´m not so keen on tweaks and so on. Really like that Nexus one Rom and OpenDesire (Did own a Desire a while ago) it was to big for me though, and i really like the design and size of the Legend.
CM is as close as you're gonna get. This should be in general
You can use dsxda kitchen, remove un wanted app, and make a Rom as you want. It's very easy since linux can installed like other app in windows.

You could also use Juicy47's rom, search for it. I like it cos it has less Cyanogen stuff and the stock 2.2 launcher from nexus. The only significant cyanogen add is the pull-down bar which lets you turn on/off wifi, data, gps, and sync. Try flashing it and don't forget the google apps to go with it.
I'm using the Blayo rom now with overclock, but really like Juicy's version.
Is there a list of stock HTC One apks that can be downloaded? I installed CyanogenMod and there are a couple apps i'd like to install back onto the device if possible. EG: Mail, TV, etc...
Thanks!
Bump. Still wondering if these stock applications are available.
Those apps won't work on CM

Any chance of someone getting them to work in the future or is it very unlikely?

Unfortunately, I don't think it's likely. The problem is a framework issue. You may be better off looking for customized Sense ROMs.

Go look in the development forums-- if you search sense, you'll get a list of topics back that might interest you. How "senseless" they are though will vary-- I'm also not sure what you're looking for. Do you want everything to look like AOSP but still be able to run apps? That seems a little on the far end to me (usually you'll get things like status bar tweaks and such).

I'm using Viper rom and Nova launcher... very pleased with the number of options. Viper gives you the pull-down settings toggles and more reboot options...ect Nova gives you everything else and a stock look. Just cant use blinkfeed/HTC widgets, but the image processing/camera/zoe stays stock which is my main concern with ASOP roms currently.
Its not perfect, but its close.
I still miss my pattern-lock music controls hopefully coming in 4.2 right?
So I've just flashed OmniROM on my LG Optimus 4X HD (p880). Probably this is the first unofficial build, built from Gerrit repos, I'm really proud of myself.
I'm pretty impressed that there were only a few changes needed and almost everything works, only BT doesn't work (easy to fix). I really like the quick settings flipping and how it shows Wi-Fi IP address when flipped. :good: I attach some screenshots.

Is this build available for download? Really eager to try it out
And will you be maintaining for the P880 on a Nightly/Weekly/whenever flexibly based? Sorry for asking that, just curious

Not yet. It's not even built from published sources, though there isn't much change in published ones yet.
Yes, probably I will.
Nice to see
In terms of going forward in terms of builds, we will be addressing these issues when we can. For now though, Omni isn't "officially" released in any kind of binary packages.
When the time comes, we will invoke the release processes, which will give nightly builds, with a weekly "tagged build". On Omni, nightly builds are expected to be stable, and encourage bug reports on them. A "weekly" is just a nightly that is tagged as "working fine", for those who don't want to update every day.

Can somebody who's already built and run the ROM do a hands-on impressions video of it?

The current look is the "AOSP" look. I imagine that longer term, there will be reason to look into modular theming systems. A lot of people want a "pure android" look, and generally the best way to avoid breaking things is to make any themes optional extras.

Sounds really nice guys!!! Happy to see entropy and xplod working on android roms again after the cm thingy! Also nice to see that maxwen is working on this!
Made a build for the Nexus 10. I installed it breefly and from what i could see is that it is indeed mostly AOSP. Nice touch is the rotating tiles. If you rotate the wifi tile, you will see the ip adres.
Anyway i am still too much used to some CM additions (like the ability to close all apps at once).
It is a good start and will keep an eye on the development.

More features on the way
It's mostly AOSP right now, we are currently in the process of adding a lot of the "useful" parts we know and love. If you want to get involved, feel free to do so on Gerrit.

Made a build for HTC Explorer, and it's running great, albeit with a few bugs(most are easy to fix)
The major thing i noticed was that all 4.3 roms for this device have a "lockscreen lag bug",but this doesn't!

Woah dude, you got this running on an Explorer? That thing is like...ancient. I didn't even think it would be capable of Android 4.1+ Props!
I dont know if its just me here, but I would really like a stock Google Edition rom with no visual tweaks whatsoever, maybe performance tweaks but thats it. We only have one (and no disrespect to the dev) but its kinda going in a different direction with all the cyanogen stuff in it now. I just want stock vanilla android at its finest, who's with me??????????
I would definitely be game for something like this. I think its cool how with the other carrier's One's you can flash them and make them a GE device. I realize we won't ever quite have that, but as close of an experience to that as we can get sounds pretty great to me.
but we do have one...... and one is all you really need since it is stock android..... and must say it is virtually flawless.
There isn't THAT much of cyanogen mod in there

Yea, sprint isnt too bad because I have LTE now but we will never have the support like our gsm variants
I thought I wanted pure stock android until I played with a nexus 7 after using CyanogenMod on my phone for a while and I have to say I like CyanogenMod more, but to each his own.

Pls don't post stuff that aren't meant for our Sprint variants. That rom is only for GSM HTC ONEs...Sprint's variant is WL.
If anyone flashes that ROM from the link, you will brick your phone!!! You have been warned.
Hi All!
Just wondering if there is much call for ROM development over here?
I started playing with the latest Urbane build this week & the chances of me doing some work (however limited) is highly likely...
I'd love to see some custom ROMS for GWR!

What can you really do with wear? It seems to be so locked down. Are you basically going to improve stock as much as you can? Possibly a leedroid wear tweaks app?
