I dont know if its just me here, but I would really like a stock Google Edition rom with no visual tweaks whatsoever, maybe performance tweaks but thats it. We only have one (and no disrespect to the dev) but its kinda going in a different direction with all the cyanogen stuff in it now. I just want stock vanilla android at its finest, who's with me??????????
I would definitely be game for something like this. I think its cool how with the other carrier's One's you can flash them and make them a GE device. I realize we won't ever quite have that, but as close of an experience to that as we can get sounds pretty great to me.
but we do have one...... and one is all you really need since it is stock android..... and must say it is virtually flawless.

Yea, sprint isnt too bad because I have LTE now but we will never have the support like our gsm variants
I thought I wanted pure stock android until I played with a nexus 7 after using CyanogenMod on my phone for a while and I have to say I like CyanogenMod more, but to each his own.

Pls don't post stuff that aren't meant for our Sprint variants. That rom is only for GSM HTC ONEs...Sprint's variant is WL.
If anyone flashes that ROM from the link, you will brick your phone!!! You have been warned.

Sense4 is released here
my youtube recording of it here
Is this a ROM or just a theme? I mean, is it possible for us without 4X developer edition to get this aswell?

did you watch the youtube? does it look like a theme?, all widgets looks accurate?
this is Sense4 for OneX i used. and yes, its possible, OneX and o4x is hardware wise pretty similar on cpu/gfx chipset. rest is different but can be fixed i believe.
Sounds great. Just thought the locked bootloader could be a problem for this but you've just made a flashable launcher, am I right? And btw I would very much appreciate if you released this.

Sense4 is not a flashable launcher, but the complete rom, since Sense is integrated into all the framework of ICS and android, so you cannot run widgets or apps without having the sense core framework and native libraries associated.
but i will make it a flashable zip through CWM, if decision is to do it.
Sounds like a great idea. Yes, I think this would be highly helpful as then we have a base to work with. How much work in your opinion would it be to get it to work with phone?
Noooooooo, please don't quit with this phone. I am losing my faith that we will ever have anything else than the stock rom

personally i believe its a though one. functionality in the framework (telephony) needs to be ported into the htc framework, or vice versa if possible.
but the radio someone seems similar , but honestly i am not technical radio expert, but they share the 6260 radio name on htc as well, maybe a nvidia radio compatibility thing.
Its not a case of putting the LG ril files in the HTC framework is it?
Good Job Dexter_nlb!!!!
You bring light in this phone.Never leave the work in this phone please. Thanks!!!
This community is little, and you have experience in roms.

i was told it was that simple on the GSIII port, which seemed to die, although they claimed to have phone working
but here its not that simple. i try to follow the logs with "logcat -b radio" and you do see its being setup with lge-ril.so , but then telephony framework seems to identify it as cdma and other calls to framework fails.
i believe some lge services are required to utilize the functions fully.
Hmm, I will deffianetly have a look if and when you release it
Well it definitely seems smmother running on O4X thatn it does on the HOX. So dear friend, can you share with us the zip and see what we can do with it?
Maybe kholk could continue this when he unlock the bootloader?

unlocking bootloader does not resolve the modem driver needed to be compiled and Integrated without the security checks they put into it, and that the driver needs to handle the modem different from previous models.
but the backup got lost since the device was delivered to another person with the sdcard erased and backup was on it
i do not believe another pc backup exists, sorry.

yes, that happened already when my GnoteII arrived, i really prefer that one over o4x, coming from HTC flyer with scribe functions as well and the 5.5" display i like soo much now
^I can understand you mate. GNote2 is a great device and right open for experimentation from the get-go...I was considering it but the sheer size of it, is simply beyond my willingness to suffer carrying it in a handbag! I always demand for my devices to fit in my pocket no matter the slimness and that's the final deciding factor for me.
i might get a chance to rebuild my htc build (4.0.4 edition), it seems camera+wifi+bt works , but audio is now an issue.
ill keep this thread updated, if i get more progress. I probably need to return the o4x soon.
and no, HTC JB 4.1.2 is not possible , as we havent got any updated camera, audio, wifi libs to support the changes, so porting is impossible.
That's way better than nothing, mate. Thanks for your efforts, I'm interested in trying it out.

Are people working on ROMs for this phone? I only ask because I make the plunge Friday and I recently realized how amazing this phone is. I have tiny hands.. so... I'm souped. But I'm not sure if it will get 4.2.2, or 4.3 or 5.0 or whatever next Android version comes out. And also, I love what Paranoid Android has been putting out. Just wondering if things like that are happening behind the scenes. Didn't see any other threads or posts about it.
I would assume that once HTC releases the kernel source code, this phone will receive similar love as many other photos do. I will personally do my best to ensure that CyanogenMod becomes available for it if no one else steps up to take care of it. The fact that it ships with stock Android can only make that task easier.

Having a RUU available in case something goes haywire definitely helps too. A lot of people don't want to change the firmware dramatically just yet if they don't have the ability to roll it back to factory.

This is true. I'm gonna guess the RUU should be released soon? The One's RUU was just released This makes my decision a little bit more difficult but in the best way cause now I could get this phone and not be too upset since it should get upgraded at this rate. Much love guys. Thanks. Been itching for an android device with great battery that fits in my hand.

Wouldn't a nandroid backup be more than enough to allow users to roll back to stock if they choose to? Or are you talking about something more than that?

A RUU would completely revert everything back to stock -- bootloader, recovery, system, radio, etc.
i played with one of these when i got my One
we could probably get a sense 4+ or sense 5 port going on it
i wish i had one to screw with

Lol that would be counterproductive. I think one of the reasons people like the first is because it DOES NOT have Sense!

idk how hard it would be to get AOSP builds going on this either
i assume easy since most the stuff is aosp already
Is there a list of stock HTC One apks that can be downloaded? I installed CyanogenMod and there are a couple apps i'd like to install back onto the device if possible. EG: Mail, TV, etc...
Thanks!
Bump. Still wondering if these stock applications are available.
Those apps won't work on CM

Unfortunately, I don't think it's likely. The problem is a framework issue. You may be better off looking for customized Sense ROMs.

Go look in the development forums-- if you search sense, you'll get a list of topics back that might interest you. How "senseless" they are though will vary-- I'm also not sure what you're looking for. Do you want everything to look like AOSP but still be able to run apps? That seems a little on the far end to me (usually you'll get things like status bar tweaks and such).

I'm using Viper rom and Nova launcher... very pleased with the number of options. Viper gives you the pull-down settings toggles and more reboot options...ect Nova gives you everything else and a stock look. Just cant use blinkfeed/HTC widgets, but the image processing/camera/zoe stays stock which is my main concern with ASOP roms currently.
Its not perfect, but its close.
I still miss my pattern-lock music controls hopefully coming in 4.2 right?
So I know that there is a Paranoid android ROM that has this feature, but will it ever become an app or something that any phone (specifically the HTC one) can use? Because I'd really like to keep the default ROM and have the HALO feature, because it is one of the most amazing things I've seen!
I know it's open source and would try myself, but I don't know how
Thanks for any help
Would be really hard to implement afaik, so I wouldn't expect anything to happen unfortunately

It will need some serious hacking to work on Sense based roms
AOSP ROMs though it can be compiled into the rom
btw there is already a PA ROM for this device in the original development section, and that has the latest HALO built in
Short answer: No, it's impossible.
But using some app like Floating Notification?
Yeah I've seen floating notification, but that doesn't have the "pop-up application" feature. So even though it is near impossible for a sense ROM, what about as a standalone app?

Nope. Only on stock firmware.

Mainly CM12 is lollipop while stock + Xposed is kitkat.
But a lot of people just like CM, its light and sleek and has some nice features/options.

D'oh I guess I forgot about the whole lollipop of it all! That would certainly be a good reason.
For clarification, which features/options does it have that you can't get with xposed?
I'm just gonna wait for the official release, add Xposed, and freeze unneeded crapola but still interested in keeping up. cheers

As of now, there is no xposed for lollipop. It only runs on Dalvik, not ART and the developer does not know when/if he will make it work with art, or if it even can be made to work the same.
I'm thinking its pretty likely something will happen eventually but it doesn't look like he is even thinking about doing much until development of lollipop slows down as he has said for now its "a bit of a moving target"
So it may be a while/never.
Huh, of this I was not aware. I might hold off to see how this pans out.
