Hello,
I have a problem with the screen protector of my GN.
I succeeded to install it but the edges do not stick. I have not touched the protection with fingers during installation. It's like if the edge (in fact, the corner) of the mobile did not accept the protection.
It's uneasy to explain (due to my bad english, sorry) and I can't take a picture that shows the situation.
Does somebody has had the same problem ?
Mine is fine.. Did you make sure the Phone surface is clean?

It was my first idea : the surface not clean. But I cleaned it with great precision.
I have had another idea. Maybe this is due to contact of palm that had let some grease and the dry cleaning is not enough. But I don't want to wash it under water:crying: I don't know what to use to be sure that the surface is really clean.
Please can someone tell me a good quality screencover that applies easily without air bubbles. Tried the ones that came with the phone but ended up with about 50 air bubbles so wasn't happy and pulled them off again.

I bought xperia z1 two weeks ago.
Yesterday I removed the shatter proof film front and
back but now I have touch issues with the screen
sometimes not respond and always when touch
some point it touches it two or three times like
when iam browsing and want to go to the previous
page when back button touched it brings me to two
previous page.
Then I knew that the glass isn't oleophobic like the
shatter film.
What's the solution for me??!
Please reply

maybe theres still some hidden glue left on the screen give it a good clean
to make sure if theres glue left try to breath on it you'll see if theres odd shapes forming from the condensation i remember that it clearly showed the glue when i did on mine

I have the exact same problem after removing the anti shatter film.
Has anyone else noticed this? If yes did one of you put another third-party screen protector on your phone afterwards and did this solve the touch-problems ?
Greetz
the problem solved
I put screen protector and touching screen is now ooth and slippery
But it's shame to sony to make their phones not oleophobic screen and put cheap film on the phone that gets scratches easily??
Sony wake up how you didn't notice problem like this??! .
I have touch issues every now and then with the shatter proof film on...
Mostly on the lower half of the screen...
Edit= its scratched up too
And BTW does removing it increase the brightness and/or change the hue of the screen(like the yellow hue most ppl get)

I wonder why you remove asf.....
I'm also having these problems, I just removed ASF because it got some pretty nasty scratches from being in my pocket jeans with no other items (I'm still in shock at how easy it gets damaged). I'm also having issues primarily with the soft keys, it goes all crazy and recognizes multiple touches, seems that other parts of the screen are not affected (I tested this particular area of the screen in landscape mode and seems to have this problem in whatever the area is displaying). No oleophobic screen also noticeable, so my search begins for a good screen protector.
It looks quite amazing without the Sony logo though.
What would compel you to take out the factory shatter proof film from Sony?

Scratchs? I also saw people doing this on Dell 40" LED Screen to improve image quality but you risk to damage the Phone or the Display so I don't know how much is it worth.

As the previous reply said, scratches are probably a good motivator. Sony won't replace the ASF film under warranty and since many people have it scratched, they are probably quite tempted to just remove it..

Not to mention the fact that at least according to Sony, the film is supposed to make the touchscreen more sensitive and accurate, and after removing it, it will be too late to put it back.

Because when I look at my screen in my "flagship" 2013 phone I don't like seeing scratches, what is the point in having a device with FullHd Triluminos display etc etc when I can't enjoy it because of Sony's poor quality ASF..personally I don't know how someone thought of this as a standard, but hey I'm no engineer. By the way I applied a screen protector and everything's back to normal.
I for my part removed the ASF because my phone fell around 30cm on the floor, so almost just tickled it, and took such nasty and heavy scratches from it that it was impossible to keep it that way. Also it had a lot of minor scratches from just keeping it in my pocket.
What I can confirm is, that the touch issues are especially in the lower part of the screen. Also it seems like this problem occurs more often if the phone is "cold", for example if I use it outside.
I hope that this will be fixed software-wise through firmware/app (by better calibrating or smth like that) or trough a 3rd party screen protector.
the winter solved the issue
I removed the screen protector but there's no issues with touch screen
I think the problem is only in summer or hot climate because fingers have alot of oil in this time
what!!

Wow what a strange solution..what made you remove it in the first place? Was there any other change in circumstances that could explain the fix? I'm really interested since the way you explained your problem in the first post was exactly my issue as soon as I removed the ASF.
I'm waiting on 4.3 to even consider removing the screen protector as it cost me a lot of trouble putting it without a single particle of dust/bubbles/alignment. Anyway I live in a place where there's no "winter", it's always hot in here.
Actually it happens more in winter for me... Maybe because of the static electricity I guess... And the Aluminum frame...
Since 4.3 update, touchscreen problem is worse, even with the screen protector it sometimes skips when trying to use Swype keyboard in all situations, with or without case, cold or hot weather, touching the aluminium frame or not..seems to have something to do with oily fingers. Still hoping that a firmware update may correct it.

I do not use swypette but same here, after update the touch screen is worse. I know the sensitivity or the respond of the touch can be modified but at the moment everybody have something else in mind than try to fix this.
Hey guys,
A few days ago, I removed the ASF screenprotector from my Xperia Z1 And all went well, the phone feels nice now! BUT the touchscreen is all messed up now...
One press on home button = multiple presses on actual OS. Today I was listening to music and it didn't work at all! Wouldn't repsond to touch anymore, I had to wipe it off to get it to work again. Sometimes it behaves normally but this is too annoying to live with each and every day! I thought to myself: hey you dumb*** it's probably the glue residue from the ASF. So I washed my phone a billion times (even with soap once) and it doesn't fix it. IDK if the residue is still there or if my touchscreen is just messed up.
Any help is appreciated!
Thank you,

All you need is a oleophobic screen protector to prevent these ghost touchs. Same happened here.
Just got my nillkin h+ 9H screen protector, and I must say: even though I hate screenprotectors this has to be one of the best I have ever used! (0 bubbles ) I was however not so impressed by the back protector which feels like plastic and was not as easy to apply (lots of bubbles). The screen protector on the front feels nice and got rid of the "ghost touch" problem I had. I absolutely recommend this screen protector! One more thing: you'll want to watch a video on how to apply it since the English guide on the package is absolute garbage (I couldn't understand it)
Hello,
I've noticed this mark on my screen
Only see it when screen is off
Idk what it is
I've been playing pubg mobile alot lately
Perhaps it's due to pressure on this area ?
Can it be removed ?
Thank you

Looks like a combination of heat and pressure, nothing you can do to fix it other than buy a new screen and be a bit more gentle.
Looks like a part of the oleophobic coating has worn off. Has happened on mine too. Have put a screen protector on to hide it.
I had the same after playing pubg mobile daily for 3 months straight on my ipad pro. i managed to clean the screen and put a screenprotector on it. The mark i had was in fact fat from my fingers. The oleophobic coating was gone but when u clean your screen you cannot see its missing.
It took a lot to remove the fat since i was used to quickly swipe the oleophobic coated screen. if the coating is gone it takes a lot more to get rid of the fat. try soap and water maybe and put on a protector after.
