Enjoying cm10.1 via bokbokans hybrid bootloader, but having a strange problem. Seems the "..." context menu trigger is missing from several apps. First one I noted was Calendar. Then Ad away. Now Tasker. I cannot get into preferences menus in these programs. I worked around this for a couple of them by using Tasker tasks calling preference menus via Secure Settings launch activity setting, but there are some programs that is not an option.
Is anyone else having this problem? Any idea of a fix?
Using a Nook HD+ tablet. And the problem is not there when I boot into B&N stock ROM, only happens when I'm in CM10.1

You can make the "..." menu button always appear by entering Settings > Systems > Buttons and layout. Tap on a blank space (+), and add Menu (alwaysShow) button.

e.mote, Thank you very much!

I enabled the Quick Menu from the Task Manager menu, but it does not work.
It looks I can only run 1 application at one time.
Also, the "Recent program" in the Start menu is greyed out.
Hmm, you suppose to be able to switch to the running applications via the Quick Menu, right?
In my case, there is only [x] button in the top right corner. No Quick Menu icon.
It is for sure enabled!
I think, I figured it out ...
But still, is there any good tool to switch between application by using a hardware key?
I have my Nook Color rooted, running zeam, and softbuttons.
I mistakenly chose to have the Nooks home button set to go to the nook "home" and not the zeam home.
In the dialog that comes up when you pick which action you want the button to perform (softbuttons, zeam, home) there is a checkbox that says something like "always perform this action". It also says you can go into application settings and change the preference.
For the life if me, I cant figure out where the heck to change it back to to the default setting, or switch it to go to zeam (which is what I want it to do at this point).
Is this something that can be done in the software on the Nook, or will I have to resort to this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=873984 ?
Thanks
I did the same thing with ADW launcher. Pretty sure all I did to fix it was to uninstall ADW then reinstall it from the market. After the reinstall, it popped up the "which do you want to use" dialog again.
Download Home Switcher from the market, and use it to change your home to SoftKeys. Afterwards, modify SoftKeys settings to switch which home you'd like to come up, and whether it is a single or double button trigger.
Nook color tools > all settings. > manage applications > menu in soft keys > filter > all > home > clear defaults.
Installing any new launcher ( or re installing zeem) will give you the window to choose again.

..worked like a charm, thank you.
Hi. My power button starts to cause problems and sometimes I have to torment to bring up the menu (profiles, screenshot, reboot). Is there any way to create a shortcut to the menu? Eg "1Tap Quick Bar" app creates a shortcut, but only to reboot (even without the choice standard/CWM). I searched all activities of system apps but found nothing. As a last resort can I map the camera button as power one?
Just go to market and type "Shutdown Menu". It has everything you need.
OK thanks, but it solves my request partially. I need whole power menu with screenshot and profiles
i have my HTC button mapped to the menu button. i've noticed that all the mods that remove the black 3-dot menu button that pops up across the bottom of the screen also remove the built-in 3-dot menu button in apps (like the one in the upper right of the Google Play Store, for instance). i assume this is because they are being told there is a hardware menu button, so they shouldn't show their built-in menus.
my question: is there a way to remove the annoying black bar across the bottom menu button, but keep the built-in app menu buttons?
Install a jellybean sense rom. Hold home for menu and keep the built in menu on apps that have it.
thanks, but i was hoping for a way that would work across ROMs.
build.prop change to fix this
I've managed to fix this by changing build.prop
Edit or add the entry
qemu.hw.mainkeys=0
In /system/buildprop, save and reboot
The value was 1 previously.
Edit: This is also with having the Bulletproof ROM installed.
Edit 2: On further inspection, I can't seem to get it to work while also hiding the three dot menu on the legacy apps. Gah.

OK so I have it working again as expected and I am not sure how I did it ... in the Play Store app I get the three dot menu up the top right and in other apps, the menu bar is missing. My build.prop file has no entry for qemu.hw.mainkeys anymore... so maybe it's something in my ROM? Currently Bulletproof 5.3.
Is their an option on the N4 to show the menu options on the screen? I know i can drag the menu icon to my home screen. but im looking for a quick way to access the menu settings.
Holding down the left "recents app" button down should bring up the respective menu on whatever screen you are currently on.
