Hi all!
Just a quick question about mircast, I've seen the XZ supports miracast which I am happy about. When I heard about the Nexus 4 having it and what it did I was really looking forward to the 'mirroring' feature most of all, I didn't get a N4 but got a Note 2 at the time....this doesn't have miracast built in but has Samsung's Allcast feature, which is kinda the same but requires a Allcast dongle too.
Now my questions are with the XZ when I get it on Friday (woop!), I would like to use miracast 'mirroring' feature with my TV (hopefully) has anyone got any experience with miracast at all?
I know I will probably need to buy a mircast dongle for it to work as my TV Pananasonic TX-L42ET5B doesn't support it, so do Panasonic do a miracast dongle at all as I can't find one. I also have a Sony BDV-EF200 BD 2.1 Home Cinema System and this doesn't support miracast either, so any idea's of a dongle again??
Thanks in advance as I know I might be asking a lot here.
The Netgear PTV3000 works with all TV's (HDMI output). Make sure to update it to the latest firmware version and you can use it to Miracast just fine.

Are Miracast and Mirrorlink the same (ie just Sony giving Miracast its own name)?
I expect the 2013 Bravia TVs will support this natively.

Not heard of mirrorlink, isn't it a different?
Well that's what I am wondering as the Xperia Z has MirrorLink and no mention of Miracast! The Nexus 4 has Miracast.

Hmm that is true...
Hi,
I'm looking for a device that would allow me to replicate the screen of my HTC one on my full HD TV.
I would like to to able to do the same thing with the same device but with my mac
I think my solution is called miracast.
Am i right ?
Which device is known to work perfectly with the HTC One ?
Any idea of how to make it work with my macbook pro and iPad ?
many thanks !
HD MediaLink
Are you talking about the HD Media Link? This little accessory mirrors the screen on the HTC One to your TV. But depending on what you're doing, your experience may vary. If you like to look at photos and basically anything still, then this will work. But any fast paced moving pixels, forget about it. The only game that I've tried that works well is angry birds, but even then it stutters. I don't know how you plan on using it, but I'd say it's not worth $90. ATT gave it away for free during their preorder promotion.
This device, to the best of my knowledge, does not work with any other device besides HTC devices with at least Sense 4.0. If you want your mac/iphone/ipod to work, you need to get an appletv. Hope this helps.

Hi,
No i'm not talking about the Media Link that seems to work only with HTC devices.
I'm talking about a miracast dongle/box that i'll be able to use with my htc one, my iPad, my S2, my macbook pro, etc
Anyone have try Netgear PTV3000 with HTC One?
According to Google, the HTC One supports Miracast, but for your Apple devices only Airplay will work. Try to find a device that supports both.

There is a device called Xiaomi Box by a chinese company which is the only known device which supports Miracast as well as Airplay. Although this device is very hard to get due to its high demand in china. Try your luck. Most other devices like Belkin screencast, netgear ptv 3000, etc only support miracast.
Samsung allshare cast dongle is miracast

I tried a Samsung allshare cast dongle with the HTC One and it seems to work. The One sees it as a miracast device and connects OK. The screen updates just fine but there is a serious audio sync issue when playing videos. I need to do some more testing.

I can confirm this does work with the HTC One
Miracast should be universal solution for Android devices, it is still young technology and there is not much information or tests and reviews.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Miracast
http://www.theregister.co.uk/2013/02/21/feature_wtf_is_miracast/
Bit of a flop about this is that we can't use existing technology, wireless connection, TV, PC's or consoles for that, like with DLNA. Those are designated dongles that plug into TV or monitor. If you type "miracast" in eBay search you'll find some dongles, but IMHO they are still too expensive, on par with Android media players which are far more complex and versatile. There are some hints that it can be enabled in Windows 7/8.1 using Intel WiDi but that is hardware limited. Maybe not for long

AMD is pushing AMD Wireless Display or AWD...
ZK-W18 Mirasharer doesn't work
just received my ZK-W18 mirasharer from Ebay and so far I am having trouble connecting it to my HTC One.
Sorry duplicate post.
There is a video here about HTC One Miracast(NETGEAR PTV3000)

Just tried it with Sony Bravia W905 and it was no-go
One sees Bravia as Miracast compatible device, Bravia registers One and then after looong waiting nothing happens. And again, and again, reboot, restart, nothing. Oh well.

Yep, I tried configuring my One with Sony W655 and same story as above, both see each other, configured but then looong wait and nothing...
Maybe 4.2.2 will fix that?
I already am on 4.2.2. - ARHD 12. We even updated software on TV, didn't help.
Well, in that case it sucks...
It would be great to have this functionality out of the box...
Has anyone tried these HDMI DLNA devicse with our HTC ONE? I just want to play movies on the TV with this:

Get yourself the Samsung allshare dongle. It works flawlessly. Sad part it works better with my HTC one then with my samsung tablet

I have a Raspberry Pi connected to my TV, running XBMC (xbian).
I can simply use the "Select Player" option in the top right menu on my HTC when viewing pictures and select my XBMC device (xbian) I can then control the slideshow, shown on my TV pretty cool.
The videos I made with the HTC One are using 22mbit/s bitrate (ridiculously high) so that will never work via Wifi (unless you have a very expensive 11ac router).
But I could test it with other videos of course... will report back.
using the Yatse app, you will be able to stream anything to XBMC btw... but its a paid app. I think it uses DLNA tech.

Hi Globen, is this with videos taken on the HTC One or streaming videos? What's a youtube video like? I only ask because mine has a serious lipsync issue but works fine for photos and non-video screens.

Hi fellas,
My previous S4 was using MHL and it seems that not all MHL cables are compatible with all phones.
However, with the G2, I need to get a slimport-HDMI cable.
For those familiar with slimport, can I just go out there and get any one and be guaranteed that it will work?
There are many that are meant for the Nexus4. I'm betting those would most certainly work.
Those who got it for your device which works well, care to post a link to the product?
Thanks!

Well, I'm assuming Slimport is a better and more controlled standard than MHL so I hope any existing slimport adapters out there will work with our LG.
Like I mentioned, MHL wasn't the same for all...
Is their anything like Samsung's all share cast I'd like a wireless way to connect to tv.
Sent from my LG-D800 using Tapatalk 4
Slimport is in fact just a single "thing". Right now, you can only buy a single HDMI adapter or a single VGA adapter.....from Slimport. Even though it's a "standard", no other company makes the things -- at least I haven't found any yet. I bought my slimport adapter back when the Nexus 4 came to market.
Our G2's also support Miracast which I can confirm works with my Netgear PTV3000.

So I assume your slimport which you bought for N4 works for your G2 as well?
Yea the choices for such adapters are pretty limited right now.. and I gotta be prepared to fork out the cash for it.
Hey everyone. I gotta say, the droid turbo is an incredible phone even without the promised 48 hour battery life. However, I can not find any info on support for MHL or not. I've got a pioneer radio (this one to be exact) that demands it and so far I can't get it to work. Any help/alternatives to MHL? Thanks.

When I looked for the spec everything I read kept referring to some form of casting or mirroring wirelessly. I am disappointed and pretty confident there is no MHL

I don't know about MHL, but it is compatible with WiDi, MiraCast and AllCast/AllShare.
Just turn on your WiFi then bring up the toggles from the notifications screen and you will see a Cast Screen option.

Yeah i knew that, but i don't know how to get the radio to communicate with my phone.
This is on Motorola site. Doesn't say what phone it works with but I would assume it would work with ours. Too bad it's out of stock for the $3 bucks they want I would have given it a shot.

Pretty sure that's for the older phones that had mini-HDMI ports on them.

I think it is too. Is there a way to stream to a chromecast without a network?
Any luck on this? I just recently bought a pioneer radio as well, and trying to do the same thing. I have everything connected, but it turbo doesn't play along. Have you made any progress with yours? Bought a new phone that does support mhl??

Droid Turbo doesn't support video out over a wired connection. Your best bet is to buy a Miracast dongle like the Microsoft Wireless Display Adapter or Belkin Miracast Adapter and an HDMI coupler (Female to Female).
Connect the coupler to the HDMI sticking out of the radion and connect the adapter to the coupler. You'll need to provide power the wireless adapter as well.
For the Pioneer radio set the settings to HDMI connection type for AppRadio Mode, pair the Bluetooth from phone the radio and go to your display settings on your phone and connect to the wireless adapter.
PM me if you need more help.
