as far as I know changing the VM heap size causes the battery drain.
higher VM heap means better performance and more battery use I recommend setting it to 32..
also there has been some controversies over battery drain by seeder..
i have this :

i have this numbers :
vm heap size :64
vm heap start size :2
heap growth limit: 16
verification (v=) all
optimization (o=) all
register mapping (m=) off
its ok ??
I don't know about your device.
But keep VM heap size to 32 and then repost the results.
Also repeat the test with seeder removed too..

Why do you keep bluetooth on when you are not using it?
Those 3 apks on the top left are? Every background app is draining battery. You can'f pump up background apps, leave bt on and say I want great battery life.

Remove that batteryguru, close apps that you do not use (completly, do not just press home). Make 2-3 apps to be max in background, you have that in Developer options in settings.
Stop BT when not using it.

All credit goes to Juwell for the script.
MORE SMOOTHNESS, MORE SPEED, LESS LAGS AND ENOUGH FREE MEMORY
Hi guys,
after long time of testing I found the best balance for RAM, this script will make your RAM in the best optimization, the best optimization means the best balance between free memory, multitask, speed of launching apps and system speed. It means that you'll still have enough free memory (you'll have free memory as much as you need, because it is not good if you have really a lot of free memory, because Android's work with memory is different from other OS) and you can fully use your multitask, my script doesn't kill your app automatically when you minimize it. Your system and switching between apps or launching apps will be very fast.
Now you don't have to use Task Killer!

Requirements: Root, Kernel which supports init.d
Lowmemorykiller values
-Values which mainly affect your multitask and free memory. Values of my script were made for combination of using multitask and still have enough free memory.
VM values
-Very important values which affect your battery consumption, system speed and speed of launching apps.

HOW TO CHECK IF SCRIPT WORKS
Download "AutoKiller Memory Optimizer" and check values:
LMK values
10MB, 16MB, 24MB, 48MB, 56MB, 72MB
VM values
50, 10, 5, 10, 90, 5
ROM devs can use Juwell's script in their ROMs, but give the proper credit.

I have been testing this script with Rewind 3D Sense 3.0 and switching between apps and navagating threw the homescreen is a lot smoother.
Downside, it kills my battery pretty fast, 3 hours and already down to 50% lite use.
I attached the flashable.zip and the script by itself.
Enjoy!!

That would be overkill. The task killer apps actually hurt the phone's battery more than help anyway, so this script should be enough.

Manually moved s97ramscript using root explorer. Set Permissions rwxrwxrwx, rebooted and I am not seeing the correct values in Autokiller Memory Optimizer.
Not really sure wtf is going on here, running MIUI with incredikernel, both latest versions.
I had the same issue with the script. Remove "s" from the script so it should be "97ramscript". It should work. Worked for me after I did that.
whats different between this one and V6 SuperCharger? V6 supercharger doesnt require Cw flashing, just script manager and busybox 1.18.2

Having empty space of ram helps the battery to stabilize and helps opened applications run faster.

Well sir if ram managing is your problem, then I have the perfect product for you!
Ram Manager.
Set it to Balance (More Multi tasking) or Hard Multi tasking and you'll be running as many apps as the phone can handle.
So, I'm using DjangoManouche 1.5b5. Kernel is Gueste's 1.3.3(?) OC version. I chose 20s and I'm just wondering what is the difference between that and 20q(I live in FIN if it matters). I chose better multitasking, Pdroid and FD. What are Pdroid and FD?
In anyway, icQ, Tapatalk and Dolphin browser HD aren't staying up. It's a little annoying because I cannot get pop-up messages in icQ and the browser must reload pages every time. It happens when I'm using any other app for a few minutes and trying to use the previously used one.
The problem came back with DM ROM and I had some kind of lightly customized CM ROM. I just would like to fix that problem if it could be possible. Sorry for postig that problem on that sectio but I have no rights to post in development section yet.
Pdroid is privacy framework, FD is fast dormacy. It looks like youre low on ram. I would suggest to use latest cm kang with etana kernel with 48 ramhack.

no offense to anyone or any ROM, if it is the free RAM which is the cause, I would suggest that your stock ROM based choice is more than good...I am on DJ1.5B5 and I have a minimum of 140Mb always and have no issues....
so, investigate using different options mate....I can guarantee this ROM ....and its performance
I don't want to change to different rom. That rom has a lot pf options and there must be a way to make it work. I have Lg's launcher, which can take too much RAM. I should change that to Adw launcher. Well, do you have any recommendations what I should change?

I assume you have installed with an option to have a lot of free RAM. Whaddayouknow, to have a lot of free RAM the system will kill background apps.
Reinstall DM with stock OOM values, or if you know how, change them back to stock values.

BTW, I have worse problem than that. I cannot set music volume any lower in Poweramp. I set it to zero and still I hear music too loud. The problem doesn't exist in Youtube(adding volume is still a little bad). What can I do because I dont want to destroy my ears?
Edit: I paussed the music player and now it's a lot better. I added some volume when the player was paussed and then it was better. Still I cant set volume as much as I want. Help, please.
Edit 2: Okay guys, I fixed that. I disabled direct volume contol and now it's normal.

I think the battery is undersized.
If we turn off all features why do we need smart phone?
When i was on gingerbread my battery would last about two days if phone was not used much.If i left fone overnight and wake up in the morning, the battery drop would b 1% or sometimes same as i left b4!!
But since i upgraded to jellybean,my battery dsnt even last a day.Overnight drop is about 25-30%(huge from before).
Do u guys also hv the same prob?
I am rooted and using tz 3.5(same prob was there on stock jb also,so i dont think its the kernel).
I am a hardcore battery saver(haha,i use total black wallpaper as i heard amoled screen dsnt consume power to show black, lowest brightness, swtich off wifi/gps/bluetotth etc when not in use)but still my battery dsnt last long enuf as it did in gb.
So is there a solution to this,or its the way jb is and nothing can be done
PS:- I read about battery calibration in the forums, and did it but it dint change nything.
Another thing I have found to help save battery with JB:
Enable JIT: echo "dalvik.vm.execution-mode=int:jit" >>/system/build.prop
Also: remove Samsung bloatware - some of them get started in the background and consume power.

Till now jellybean for me on this device has been great.... works like a charm... first thing go to developers mode enable it and set background apps to 1 , 2, 3 or 4 which ever pleases you it clears all background apps which you dont wana use! next thing clear out all samsung bloatware junk if your rooted thats goana help alot, also the final thing if your not a big fan of high colours so lower your brightness level... follow these points and everything is perfect and dandy

Pimp my ROM (Alpha) this need to be configurated as you like
SGS Touchscreen Booster set preset "super optimized" and check "start service at boot"
Memory Optimizer(Root) set as fast mode and then appy
After all setting restart the phone
Here you have my build.prop is from XXLPZ version with Thunderzap 3.5 kernel and Pimp My Rom installed so if you have these you can use it but i recomand to back up your own build.prop
P.S. I'm not responsable if will not work for you... you will need to install after that Sony BRAVIA Engine 2 and xLoud & ClearAudio+ for these only go to APPS & MODS then to each app after only click on each install but dont restart after that enter recovery mod and you will have in the sdcard a folder named pymp my rom there you'll find the zip packages install them after that reboot

I assume your Rooted and have installed a Custom stock based Rom.
if you have, then tweak the Minfree values
also suggest you tweak the CPU Governor,
I have it at the following settings with Trickster Mod (I've got the Paid Pro version)
Minfree values
Foreground App 22
Visible App 34
Secondary Server 40
Hidden App 74
Content Provider 86
Empty App 90
Read Ahead buffer 1024
On-Demand Governor
down_differential 15
io_is_busy 1
sampling_down_factor 2
sampling_rate 50000
up_threshold 80
all other settings 0,
make sure you hit the tick and set on boot
.
I havent had any lag since.

I wanted to get rid of the lag so I downloaded ram manager. I'm running on stock but I'm rooted. I set most of the options like in the third post, but can I change swappiness option too? And those "dirty..." settings?

Yeah Ram manager will do the trick as well, I dunno about swappiness and others settings, I dunno exactly what they do ...
regards
I paid for the app and i tweaked the minfree settings but when i try to acces the Governor control it says This Control is not available.
Edit : Nevermind i found out that i did not apply the settings before trying to tweak the Governor.
Edit2: If i increase the sampling rate to about 90000 the speed will increase or just burn my phone ?

You don't really need to in increase it that much, higher sampling rate causes the cpu to stay at higher frequencies longer before dropping down to lower ones.
And no it won't burn out out your cpu, probably just make it warmer

Ok so ill leave it about 60000 because i need it to run fast but i dont need it to drain my battery and get warm.
