Best Roms for Wifi Calling - Samsung Galaxy Exhibit 4G

I put my wife on CM10 and it has seriously revived her phone. However, my mother in law just left T-Mobile and now their talks are no longer mobile to mobile. Consequently, she needs wifi calling now.
What are the best roms to look at that are compatible with wifi calling?

Well cm10 doesn't have WiFi calling. Only the Ginger bread Roms have WiFi calling. So I would recommend Peach Sunrise.

It probably doesn't. I was just curious.

So we just ended up changing our plan to the new simple talk plans. Our bill went up $10 bucks a month, but not terrible overall.

$50 a month unlimited everything!!!!

So I switched to pre paid and I'm loving it. I get the same speeds as on a plan,(my area sucks) but unlimited data, for less money. 2 thumbs up!
What carryer you on? What was the specific plan?
So that we may all have a lookieloo and benefit from your shared joy
AT&T $50 unlimeted go phone. Buy a crappy phone activate it and then put the sim in your thrill, but you gota activate it on the crappy phone. Don't tell them your using a smart phone.
Or straight talk for 45/mo
Just order an att compatible sim card from them and your good yo go... full 4g
And so I have spoken it.. and so it shall be.
What r u running I just got one on prepaid stock it doesn't work on data.

I'm running thrillseeker. If you activate the sim through the thrill then att knows your on a smart phone and want to charge you extra for data. activate the sim through an old crappy go phone and it will work.
Never knew that!
Just a quick question, If I got a Skyrocket. Activated on a crappy phone, then got the prepaid thing for AT&T would I get 4G LTE speeds if my area has it or no.. Thank you
IDK? Not sure how all that works? The pre paid card says 3g???

[Q] Where to purchase LT30a for use on T-Mobile USA?

Looking to get the LT30a for use on T-Mobile USA's "4G" (really 3.5G) but having a hard time locating online retailers caring this phone. Any advice? I was considering on getting the LT28H until I saw the LT30a (in white) and fell in love; well really lust :silly:
Thanks!
Check ebay. There are some reputable sellers on there

No, unfortunately. There are special drivers needed as it shuts down the part of the cellular function in order to save battery so it's not as easy as just installing an app. Also, the new T-mobile wifi calling for ICS and JB is now part of the system instead of an addon app like the gingerbread one. Luckily I moved to a place where reception is good, because I used to have to rely on WiFi calling all the time.

Well that's a shame. I had heard that it was a driver/kernel issue. I'm using one of those CelFi repeater units from T-Mobile as I was an original BETA tester for the pilot project back in 2010. The unit works well but I recently move from Miami to DC and my area has HORRIBLE T-Mobile signal; im in a true dead zone. The repeater window unit only pics up 1 bar at best :/ and them tries to amplify it to 5 bars in the house which works well but the speed stinks. So I just use WiFi calling 99.9% of the time. This now has me worried about jumping onto one of these non T-Mobile branded Android phones.
Yeah, I know how you feel. The only hope is once the LTE network is up and running that they will be more aggressive in getting other phones, but I am not going to hold my breath.

I bought two nexus 5's...i guess ill just sell em when they come in...crap verizon!!!!
It rather blows my mind that every other carrier supports it other than Verizon, I think it says a lot about them and their policies, becoming more and more locked down (think Knox for S4 and others). It makes me think a lot about George Orwells Nineteen Eighty-Four....

Barely, It does support Band 4 LTE and CDMA. VZW operates mostly on Band 13 LTE and just lit up Band 4.
The modem itself should support all bands because the baseband is the same in the Note 3, LG G2 etc. It should support Cat 4 LTE but the spec list does not necessarily list that.

I have four phones, all with insurance, unlimited data, unlimited text and sharing 1400 minutes.
Bill after all taxes and fees is $215. :good:
As long as my bill is this cheap with Verizon how can I leave????
I'm held hostage by Verizon.....
I have the Moto X on Verizon and I bought a Nexus 5. I'll try TMO and AT&T both on the month to month option to see which I get better service with. If it's comparable to Verizon at all I'll port my number over
Someone test it on Verizon. I was going to order one to test as in theory it should work. Thank you

[Q] Q: T-Mobile Wifi Calling ? How?

Alright so it was confirmed that the nexus supports T-mobile's Wifi Calling. How exactly do you conifgure it ? I didn't see anything in the settings, and didn't see a Wifi Calling app in the playstore.
Does anyone know how to get Wifi Calling working on the new Nexus with T-Mobile ?

Yes. You will have to wait until 2015 to get Wifi calling working.
You have to wait until next year. I'm in the same boat. In the mean time, you could do wifi calling using hangouts.

I'm guessing there's no way to tether now that there's no rooting...? If that's the case I'm gonna have to return it. Any recommendations on a similar rootable phone. I just traded in my note 4.

without root you have to go off the tethering on your plan if you have it. dont go with the new tmobile unlimited plans because they charge for tethering and it's not as much as you can get now. there's really not anything similar to the note 7. the note 5 comes to mind but you had the note 4 so i'm guessing you didnt like the note 5. the international note 7 has root so you could go that route. it has bands for tmobile use.

tmobile uses Frequencies: Band 2 (1900 MHz), Band 4 (1700/2100 MHz), Band 12 (700 MHz).
the n930F uses:
LTE Cat9 700/800/850/900/1700/1800/1900/2100/2600 (Bands 1,2,3,4,5,7,8,12,13,17,18,19,20,25,26,28)
TD-LTE 1900/2300/2500/2600 (Bands 38,39,40,41)
so yes it is tmobile compatible.

I'll recommend a Nexus 6P, it's a gorgeous phone, and it's full pure android, so no problem rooting it legally from google.
no problem with bands, as it's multi band.
I'm using Wind (T-mobile partner), I too only buy phones that works with AWS bands
for the past few years, all phones are true multi-bands, so we no longer have issues with phones not supporting AWS
I too was considering the Nexus 6P before picking up the Note 7.... which I might either return or sell, if root is not available in the next 30 days

I understand why someone wouldn't need it but not knowing the use case of the guy asking the question it's better to assume all possibilities rather than just your own.
I for one cannot send a text message at home without WiFi calling connected. That may be a consideration for him to take into account when making his decision.
Also the area he lives in may not support volte

Titanium Backup, i've been using it for many many years.
The stupid Samsung "Smart Switch" (not smart enough) software doesn't work, it doesn't transfer your Apps/Games and safe games, or Apps data.
Which is why Titanium Backup is a must.
Then I also use use Droid Firewall, to manually control what comes in and out via. It's a great tool to avoid browser malware from being installed into your phone unexpectedly while browsing the web, or trying out some AD Bomb Infested Apps from Google Play.
Being able to choose what gets to connect to the internet, makes it easy to identify. Nothing goes behind my back without knowing which App is sending/receiving data.
There are a lot of other Apps I use which requires root, but they are of less importance. Apps like Widgetsoid, CPU Speed control, GPU speed control, SD card Boost, restart to Recovery Mode, and much more, basically all the Apps that can let you have full control over your phone.
Which is why most manufacture they do not like the idea of the "End User" messing around with their phone, because we are not "Owner" of our own phone, so we don't get to be "Admins"
That's the only nice thing about Nexus phones, you are guaranteed Admin / Root access.
But unfortunately as you mentioned, Nexus phones even the top of the line, are not always the best.
Samsung makes the best phone, but they are getting worse and worse at letting the "Consumer" do what they want with the phone.
