Hi, I hope this thread is ok, I have been searching for an hour and cannot find anything about the Paranoid Android ROM in the General forum, only in the Dev forum.
I think the features of this rom are very good but the text on the status bar is so small when on the Salsa screen, The screen size is set to 'Phone' in the ParanoidAndroid settings (360px), is there any way to make the status bar bigger ?
Thanks,
Mike

It is OK in phone mode. The problem is when someone loads into phablet mode..... Then text gets really small. And that problem is with the screen size..... Because when I use phablet mode on my 7 inch tab then things work well...... I actually find the size to be as big as cm10. However in settings/system/status bar I have set my clock to big size..... So things run well on my phone.....

it's not easy! because you have to decompile systemUI and change the size of png file in the folder res also need to modify an existing xml file in smali folder, after that you can recompile in order to obtain apk file as you wish

I think it must have defaulted to Phablet mode.
Although settings/paranoid settings/interface/ is all set to phone mode, when i went to settings/paranoid settings/launch/ and selected Stock UI it fixed the problem.
Thanks for the reply.

I used the ROM for a day, installed the proposed sd-script and it got very slow. Has it something to do with the used SD card? I use a Class 10 16GB SD-Card with a 500MB ext3 partition.

I changed from CM7 to this ROM, using the same 2GB SD card with the same 500MB ext3 partition, this ROM does lag a little but I assumed that was because it is Android 4.1 rather Android 2.3.
There are some ideas to increase performance in this post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2290110&page=3
cm10 roms are slow any way you try. You can try and speed it up by reducing animations and such but it will only increase it slightly.
Am I being lame, there is no button on the Slim Paranoid status bar dropdown to clear the notifications.
There is one on the stock rom and on CM7, is there a way to enable it in this rom ?
Don't know to he honest. I just swipe them away normally, unless I have to many but that's not normal for me lol.

Hi all,
I'm really not a fan of the stock Tron-Like status bar and am thinking about changing it. I have looked into it and can prob figure out how to do everything bar the clock. Would it be possible for someone to walk me through this, or even better provide a CWM flashable zip to change from Stock Xoom to Stock Galaxy Tab?
I'm currently running stock UK 3.1 as i haven't seen a need to Root up until now. I would prefer to stay on the UK 3.1 also, as although i have tried Hammerhead and Morray, i dislike the soundset for the lock-screen and keyboard. (mainly the KB is far too quiet!)
Many Thanks in Advance!
Dex
it wouldn't be hard to change but it would require a rom that has the images you want and we could only change images.
I'm searching for the images now! Its weird, all the images on the Web show the Galaxy 10.1 as having different icons, but every rom i download has Stock HC ones...

For some odd reason everyone likes the stock ones. I don't on my build of mantaray i have the icons and clock font changed. You'll probably have to find a stock rom to get images.
I'll keep looking, in the mean time, i have worked out how to change the font of the clock - do you have any clue on how to change the colour?
Thanks
Just outta curiosity how did u change the font for the clock? I have font changer but I just want to change the clock font

Hi Everyone,
I've been modding my install of Moray for the last couple days - changing images and backgrounds, trying to remove as much of the blue blur as I can. I've used some images from a tab 10.1 rom I downloaded. I've been pretty successful at this so far.
I've also changed the stock clock, but once I replace the font files, the clock on the lockscreen has a lot of extra space between it and the date, as well a very little bit of the left side is cut off. Any suggestions as to how this can be solved?
Snapshots are below of before & after.

I noticed the font not quite fitting on the lock screen too, so for now i've gone back to stock font for that.
I've used the Galaxy Tab icons and given them the same colour as the Wifi and Battery icons, then used the DroidSans font for the clock and used the same colour there too.
Here is a screen, its simple but far preferable.

How did you change the status bar font, and leave the lockscreen font as stock? Which of the three stock files did you modify?
Also, how did you change the colour of the clock in the status bar? I assumed this was possible with xml files, buti haven't adventured into this area yet.

The status bar clock colour can be changed in SystemUI.apk/res/layout-xlarge/status-bar-notification-area.xml, under the entry "holoclock"
I changed only the AndroidClock-Solid.ttf for the font, the other 2 fonts combine to make the lock screen and notification pop-up font.
All is explained really well on the XML editing here on method 2 in post 3.
Hope This Helps
I would like to change the status bar too!
Here are the pngs for
Wifi
Battery
And toggles (bottom left)
You can edit them how you like and place the in the right apks
(systemui or framework.res)
inside the zip tells you where i got them from
Hope it helps!
Hi all,
I've just changed my dpi to 213, all ok but notification bar isn;t full screen with this dpi config, is there any hack/script/app to "fix" this? or there is any source code in AOSP that we can change to make it full screen ?
Cheers,

Which rom are you on, a lot of the new AOSP roms are set to tablet mode at 160 not 213.

I guess what you are talking about is called the phablet UI it is functioning as designed... I mean the notification drawer still needs to be pulled down but it dosent cover the whole screen till bottom right?
I hope i understood you correctly...

Greetings, lovely xda community!
I am very happy with all the solutions and innovations I find on these forums.. I am on Ultimate v5 at the moment..
Lately, caught more of the DPI changing texts, from 320 to 240..
But, apparently these is DPI change for apps and for the whole screen of the Note..
So, since my understanding is limited, what I hope to be able to do is to change general DPI of the screen, so that I would be able to put more apps per one homescreen.. I mean, I like Note`s big screen real estate, but there is too much empty space between the apps icons, so maybe something like 6x6 would be better than the usual 5x5... (hmm. I wanted to add attachment of my screenshots of the present state of my screen and homescreens/app icons, but none of the message edit and attachment buttons do not work )..
Anyway, I tried some dpi changers and density changers from Play store.. Boy, I barely managed to get the phone working normally again.. I just made the keyboard pop up with massive numbers and only upper 30 percent of the normal keyboard..
now back to normal..
so, how can I do it? I do not need to run tablet apps,so I do not need dpi change that allows me to download tablet apps from play store..
I would like to fit more icons on the homescreen...
How is that done?
By the way, I did google and search this forum, but it mostly speaks about dpi change for apps..
And ok, there is the "edit build prop", but is that what I need for my intentions, and how can I do it.. and possible negative consequences?
Thanks for stopping and answering!
Peace out...
Hi there, some apps look better in certain dpi modes than others.
I suggest you look at the rom "paranoid android 3 build by beerbong" in the original android development section of the n7000 forum at xda.
Its an aosp rom (google android without the samsung stuff) and it allows changing the dpi of the whole phone (phone, phablet and tablet mode) and changing the dpi of apps alone.
Its a work of art and i suggest you take a look at that rather than messing around with buildprop editors. Goodluck!

1. Get Texdroider_dpi
2. Settings->Launcher->HomeScreen->Grid-> (I set mine to 9X9).
3. Using Texdroider I set my font size to 132 dpi (If you do this leave your Texdroider icon in the middle of one of your screens. Someday when your screen is changed back to default it will be nice to be able to find the icon).
Also, there are several good launchers available free from the play store. I use apex and I'm I'm pleased with it.
Welcome.
I have a question for you.
Well, I have your P7310 stock ics and I have a little problem.
Well, on the desktop and drawer status bar just lags - lack of liquidity.
Complete declines animation.
In any other application running smoothly just a launcher lag.
Do you also have such problems.
Is there any possibility of swapping statusbar from another rom eg AOSP CM10.1?
The easiest thing to try would be a different launcher. I like Holo HD, but there are other good ones too. You can try replacing the SystemUI.apk, but you need to replace two libraries as well. AAccount posted them in one of his threads:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=38088583&postcount=1135
You will need root access, and a root browser type app, and this may make your system unstable, so I would recommend installing a custom recovery and making a nandroid backup first.
Of course I have tried other launcher.
Only in Nova Launcher it a little better:
Desktop - the status bar work really bad
Drawer - the status bar work perfetct
Only issue with desktop :/
Tried to replace the files that are above?
This helped to something.
And one more thing.
What is the exact path of the files.
All I know is that you must put the SystemUI.apk to system / app
And the rest of the files do not know where to move.
I would ask for a little help.
I have a custom recovery, backup made so I am calm.
Now, the question is not about.
I was happy to at CM10.1 RC2 but unfortunately it seems STOCK ICS is faster as can be seen in games.
Is throwing another kernel to be something CM10.1 helped performance in games, etc.
Sorry for bad english
You could try to change animation speed in developers options, and/or you could try Addem1234's CM9-ROM (with AA's 1.8.7-kernel).
I believe they go in system/framework.
I have had no problems with lag with CM10.1 and it's default kernel, even in games. I just had to use extended desktop to hide the nav bar and set the status bar to autohide. In addition, I overclocked and made various memory tweaks, as well as installed crossbreeder. Finally, I don't use the persistent search bar, but I add the widget separately to all of my screens. Each of these things may have helped a little or not at all, but all together, they give me a system with which I am very happy.
I used all these same settings on cm9, and I see little to no difference.
Addem1234 cm-9 is faster than CM10.1 C-o-M ?

Last time I tried: Yes.

I think they are pretty comparable when I get them set up properly. CM9 is starting from a faster place, I will grant that. In a fully optimized configuration, I am hard pressed to see a significant difference.
