System partition not booting up? - Sprint HTC One (M7)

I'll try to keep this one explained simple
- Was running have boot loader unlocked and am rooted, was trickdroid
- Decided to try what else was out there for ROMS, switched to Renovate rom, was a downgrade from trickdroid in my eyes
- Decided to switch to one more rom before making the jump back to trickdroid, accidentally wiped internal storage data along with everything else
- After wasting most of my day messing with this crap, I finally got everything back to somewhat operational again
- My internal memory and Cache at one point were unmountable and read 0MB, had to do a factory reset via boot loader then a full wipe using TWRP
- Finally have trickdroid installed and its semi operational, aside from the fact that when I load it, it instantly has no service, no internet, nothing. It sends me to the launcher portion and there are no apps on there either. Shortly after it starts it will restart the device.
-After doing several restarts into recovery I have confirmed that the system partition consistently unchecks itself and I have already attempted fixing permissions several times and doing a system wipe and full ROM install again.. same issue to no avail.
- Last night I actually managed to pull up icons and programs, somehow, but again there was no system being loaded up
A little help please? I am in a state of a soft brick at this point, which is not bad considering I had a SUPER HARD brick earlier.
Help me, please. I just want to get this phone back to a functioning state!

A hard brick is unrecoverable. It means your phone is literally as responsive as a brick. I would say your phone is pretty functional if the actual OS loads.
Anyway, have you tried RUU? That usually brings everything back to normal. Be sure to use the correct one, and note that you will lose EVERYTHING. Even root.
EDIT: Try this.

So I did try using this link and downloaded the full zip file and unzipped as per instructions of QBKing77 off of youtube, then clicked setup.exe within the folder which was unzipped, but after it ran through its setup process, nothing else popped up? I tried doing it as well through hasoons all in one toolkit but while that worked, it didn't work as expected and it just stayed at the black htc screen. I'm lost at the moment.

Trickdroid works on the Sprint variant?

We should add to the Q/A sticky the names of ROMs NOT to flash like Android revolution, trickdroid, etc.
P.S. He tried RUU, he's having trouble.

It wouldn't be as bad if the Int'l forum was marked so. If I were new, I would assume all HTC Ones are the same too.

Very true there are HTC One forums for:
International
Sprint
AT&T
T-Mobile
So it could be confusing to some

Hello from my finally unbricked one! Turns out I was having issues with the computer itself launching installshield so it wouldn't keep the factory RUU running. I did it from a different computer and it did it in stride.. I'm so happy to have this thing back. So on a sidenote I had to rwlock bootloader and then I had to reload the factory RUU.

Need help fixing my phone, stuck on htc screen.

Well after installing few games and reflashing my recovery after accidentally putting an older version on, I somehow in turn corrupted my boot loader, system files, data etc, so much so that my backups would boot once but never a second time, clearing my cache and dalvik only made it stuck on htc screen and afterwards it just repeatedly booted into clockwork over and over. This all happening after trying to also make a new nand backup where it hung at system for 30 minutes only to eat up my battery from 100 to 10.
it does charge, I tried using the buttons to boot into fastboot and hboot but it doesn't seem to work, but fastboot usb comes up with I turn it on while connected to the computer but sadly I keep getting error 171 when I try to RUU it.

I called sprint and was told since I have had the phone for less than a year I can get a free one from htc just need to go to sprint and let them fiddle with it, if they can fix it then it's a free repair if they can't its a free replacement, I am supposing no traces of rooting can even be seen the phone literally has nothing on it, it nuked itself while I went to take a leak, left it on updating 10 applications, backing up the others and flashing my cw3 recovery, after that it was acting up, kept booting to recovery than after flashing things and formatting it nuked everything else recovery and all.

Well, maybe you have a brick. Cool you have the warranty. And if xda can't find a way to fix it, sprint almost surely cannot, lol. I would say get the new one sent to you, that way when you send the old one back it will be too late for them to tell at you - IF they figure it out.

Yeah, I may not post alot but that's due to college and church, otherwise I would be making guides and helping out in Q&A instead of asking for it now haha, I tried so many things and nothing worked so I concluded a brick, sadly I'll never know why my phone randomly nuked itself, I didn't do anything I normally don't was so odd.
Update: they couldn't fix it so they are sending me a new phone.

HTC one (sprint) accidentally flashed a 4.2.2 rom

So I have screwed up pretty bad and now tried fixing the problem myself before asking for help.
Earlier I flashed Android Revolution HD 12.3 to finally realize that I didnt work with sprint, however I forgot to make a back-up for my phone. I have tried using adb sideload to install viper's rom v1.1.0 via TWRP. After the flash is complete and I click reboot, I get an error saying "No OS installed! Are you sure you want to reboot?"
If I swipe to reboot, I end up with a black screen with a toolbar at the top. I am totally lost and have been searching to forums for hours on end. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Edit: I have been able to get viperROM to boot to the startup screen, however with a minute or so I get an error which states "Precess system is not responding, would you like to close it?" Then my phone restarts to the black screen.
You messed up your partitions by flashing that rom. From bootloader select factory reset to get your partitions back and then sideload your sprint rom and you should be set.
Or this method will work too.

I tried the first method and didnt have any luck. I did notice that when looking through the install folder, the .zips are no longer listed. However, when the phone turns on for a few seconds and I am able to open files through my PC, they are listed there.
Second method got me to the startup screen. As I attempted to connect to wifi, I had no phone service and also there was an error connecting to wifi due to "temporarily avoiding poor connection". Then the phone instantly restarted back to a black screen.

You're lucky the partitions aren't aligned in a way that your hboot was overwritten. Otherwise you'd have a brick instead of a phone.

I know, I really lucked out. Took a solid 14+ hours of research and trial and error to figure out how to fix it. I had rooted my old evo 4G a few times thinking I still knew what I was doing, but that was a while ago. I should have definitely took some extra time to do some more research before I flashed.
This is why i don't flash roms from another section even though some have sprint version i just don't trust them

I flashed viper's sprint version of his ROM and havent been receiving text messages or phone calls. I think its time to just give up on keeping my phone rooted. I havent had any favorable results yet.
So I ran a RUU to get everything back to stock as described above, however I am no longer receiving text messages or phone calls. I can send them though. Would anyone know why?

[Q] Strangest soft-brick I have ever seen.

I will try to explain what happened in as much detail as possible, but if this is not descriptive enough feel free to ask for more information.
As the title suggests, I have soft-bricked my phone. I can not figure out what the hell is the problem here.
I have flashed a custom rom to my device, the latest viper rom to be exact. I am assuming you know what a boot loop is, but with this it is not a boot loop. It is rather a reboot loop (?). Instead of staying on the bootup, it will load into android. It will allow me to interact with settings and things for say 1-2 minutes, then it will reboot. Some times before it crashes it will show an error message of "system has stopped responding." Other times it will just *FLASH* go straight off without warning. I have tried to flash other roms, to no avail. I have tried to clear the cache, dalvic cache, entire system, all to no avail. I have zero idea of what can be causing this, and no thread or video or anything can seem to tell me.
So please. I'm coming to you as a man who has tried everything he could find for the past 3 days. I am hoping that this is a fix that I just did not see, and I am being an idiot. Never the less, please help me in fixing this problem.

Could be a bad download did you check the MD5 before flashing?
When you wiped pre-install did you wipe cache/dalvik cache/system/data or use superwipe(does the same thing just all in one session)?

It was not a bad download I believe, because I tried with like 5 different roms.

Usually not a big deal for roms but it will tell you if the MD5 matches from what was uploaded and what you downloaded
I have gotten some downloads that were a few MB's short
I use WinMD5Free http://www.winmd5.com/?rid=winmd5
Just copy the MD5 given on the file hosting site or the OP into the popup window then navigate to your download

What are the odds that OP downloaded 5 bad ROMs?
Question to Op: did you download it directly onto your phone?
I suggest not doing that. In my experience, they have resulted in bad downloads far too often. This includes ROM manager and goo.im apps.

I sent it to my phone using adb sideload.
I can't even have enough time on Android to download anything.
PS: Not sure if this will help you or not, but when I open the app drawer there is nothing.
There is no pre-loaded widgets, there is no shortcuts.
Just a toolbar, a home launcher with no apps, and the settings.
IIRC sideload only wipes cache and dalvik cache

I doubt it man.
Nothing seems to work.
I flashed a new rom, and now I can't even load recovery or get past fastboot.
Not sure what the rom has to do with not being able to run recovery, but whatever.
As was already mentioned, have you tried to RUU back to completely stock so at least you have a baseline to work from? It honestly sounds to me like something physical may have been fried if all the roms you flash after wiping clean give the same result. If you can RUU back to stock, and still have the issue, then you may have the option of having it replaced by Sprint. Do all the roms you flash give the exact same symptoms (including the app drawer issue?)
::EDIT:: In case you aren't sure how to run an RUU, here is a link to a thread walking you through it. CLICK ME!!! ::/EDIT::

RUU doesn't seem to work for me.
I have tried to run like 10 different RUU's and none of them work.
PS: Not all the roms give the exact same issues. The viper rom does what I said. Another rom (can't remember name) did the same thing as the viper rom. ARHD removes my recovery and doesn't even let me attempt to run it. That's all the roms I have tried so far, except RUU. RUU just says incorrect device or something.
EDIT: Just flashed Cyanogen mod rom. It shows all apps, and it does everything. The only problem is that it still reboot loops. Everything works, but the phone reboots itself after 30 seconds.

Plz Help! HTC One Stuck On Start Up Screen

I went to install the most recent up date. When it got done installing it started to reboot. It then got stuck on the HTC start up screen. I do not know a whole bunch on phones but did a little research and tried to recover and reboot the phone and neither worked. I would really like to find a fix that does not involve erasing all my data. I have all the pictures of my baby from the past year, from the time that he was born until now, and I would really hate to lose those. Thank you!

Maybe some more information... what ROM, was this a stock OTA? If you have custom recovery and are attempting to flash a custom ROM, then try to reflash...if you have lost your data already or to avoid data loss;try side-loading a ROM...can't tell you much from what I've read, but if you can hold power+ volume down simultaneously for about 15 secs you should end up in recovery, if you installed a custom recovery; e.g.Philz, TWRP, CWM...then you'll pop up there....
It is safe to say that if you don't have any of these custom recoveries then you'll need to use the RUU found in the Dev section....

Everything should be stock. So what would I have to do to do the option that you have stated? I apologize for my lack of knowledge.
does your pc recognize the the phone when you plug it in? you could try extracting the data like stated before, but you're not rooted so that'd be a problem. an ruu would be your best bet, even though you'll lose your data. I HIGHLY suggest creating a dropbox and backing up your photos, it has done wonders for me.

It recognizes it to an extent. My computer will ding recognizing that it is plugged in but since it does not go past the start up screen you can't get into the phone storage. I do have a dropbox but with the thousands of pictures on my phone it unfortunately only stored a month or so of pictures. I am not so much worried about the phone, as I have insurance on it and can get it replaced. Just really want the pictures. When looking online I had read something about unlocking the boot menu and downloading a ROM I believe. Do you know anything about that and if it would work for me? Or is that the same thing as the RUU?

No I have not done this. I am assuming there is no way to do that at this point?

... you can but then you are gonna lose everything after unlocking so there is no point ...
Mine gets stuck on boot screen occasionally. Sounds weird but hold the phone drectly up to a light bulb and try to reboot the phone. This works for my particular problem. Not sure why but it does.

Hold power and vol-down together until it reboots into bootloader. Connect to USB and select 'fastboot' on the bootloader menu. That should get you to fastboot. From there, you can HTCDEV unlock the thing (in all likelihood).

[Q] Need help reinstalling OS

Okay, so this morning I stupidly wiped my OS on accident (4.4.2 KitKat, Virgin Mobile, Rooted, S-ON) and now I need to install a fresh new one. So far nothing has yielded the results I desire, which is to just get my phone back up and running. I've tried flashing new images with fastboot and restoring from pre-made backups made with TWRP. I'm not sure what to do at this point. Any suggestions?

It gets to roughly 100%, and then claims to have failed. This only solved one issue - Instead of getting to the fist HTC boot screen, it loaded the first, then the VM splash, and then the second HTC screen, but only when rebooting from TWRP. I've tried flashing several other ROMs today, and I have no progress so far.
So. I fixed it myself, but only after trying something I didn't think would work, and it's honestly not something most people talk about when they talk about restoring to stock, as I couldn't find this tidbit anywhere. Sooo... I'll give a little list of what I did.
1 - Wiped System Partition to erase other installed ROMs. Apparently, flashing one ROM doesn't replace the first? Whatever, I did this in case I had flashed a broken ROM at some point or flashed a recovery ROM to the system partition.
2 - Wiped Cache Partition for the same reason as above. Since I had the phone sort of working at one point, I assumed that whatever it was doing had at least written something to the cache.
3 - Wiped Dalvik Cache to get rid of fragments of broken ROMs. I read somewhere that Dalvik cache needs to be wiped before installation of new ROMs in order to keep the old and new ROMs from interfering. With that assumption, and the assumption that wiping my system clean couldn't hurt any more than it did, I did that.
4 - RELOCKED THE BOOTLOADER. I have no idea what possessed me to do this. I figured that it was broken too far for me to fix, and that locking the bootloader might remove the *TAMPERED* and *UNLOCKED* flags from the bootloader. Upon further reading, I know this isn't true.... Anyhow, after using "fastboot oem lock", It locked the bootloader. At least something I did yielded results that time.
Now the one I certainly didn't expect...
5 - Ran the HTC Desire 510 Virgin Mobile RUU. Now, what's weird about this is during the time when my bootloader was unlocked, RUU never detected my phone. After relocking the bootloader, however, RUU detected my phone almost instantly and in ten minutes my OS was back up and running.
The only thing I used TWRP for in this process was wiping my partitions. I didn't have to fastboot flash a ROM or load a recovery. I just think that more people should know that restoring to or installing a factory new OS, with HTC at least, is much easier than most articles or forums make it sound.
Tried, but getting battery error

Had root, custom ROM, and removed some bloatware. Called VM to activate Wi-Fi hotspot. (Boy was that a mistake!). It didn't activate so CS Rep said to power down, remove battery for 1 min and she is going to go into phone to re-provision and call me back after she was finished. I never got the call back! After several reboots from VM rep, the phone ended up on the white HTC splash screen. I could get into recovery TWRP where I found the OS was missing.
So I started searching xda and found this post.........
Got everything up to step 5... Went to run the VM RUU and got an error message that the battery was below 30% when in fact it was at 100%. Tried NUMEROUS times with the same result...
HELP!! :crying:
EDIT:
Searching around xda, I gained alot of useful knowledge of this phone and found the "fix". Thank you all so much for everything! I used this link http://forum.xda-developers.com/desire-510/development/virgin-sprint-htc-desire-510-stock-t2961521 to finally fix it. I thought I was going to have to buy a new phone! :victory:
