have you ever taken a custom backup in recovery like backup of imei only? seems like you have lost it and there are only fewer options left for you that too is not guarantee if they would work or not. If still under warranty and if no sign of moisture anywhere outside or inside or on any part of motherboard or any sign of moisture then contact service center.

sim slot and emei are two separate things
check warantee/insurance if its covered, if not do a search flashing efs.img and option clear efs, note do a backup before of efs partition on and off the phone.
If you ever did an efs backup, now would be good time to restore it.
All at own risk.

How to repair IMEI ?

Hi Guys,
Here is my case.
Phone: Samsung Galaxy 3 LTE I9305 – Optus Branded.
I have done the following mistakes:
1- I flashed I9300 ROM not I9305.
2- Then I tried selecting NAND Erase all from Odin3.
3- Then I tried to re-flash the rom by selecting PHONE not PDA.
The total damage is:
Phone: Unknown
RF CAL Date: Unknown
BaseBand version: Unknown
So I think I lost the IMEI , I have no backup for it. So I have no network connection anymore.
I was able to:
1- To restore the stock rom.
2- Install Triangle away and clear the counter and the status back official.
I tried the following solutions to recover the IMEI, but it didn’t work out:
1- To flash the Param_Bin_I9305.tar.
2- I tried to use EFS Pro to recover and repair the IMEI.
3- I tried NV-items_reader_writer and QPST but:
a- The COM status NO Phone in both apps.
b- I was not able to see the option “RMNET + DM + MODEM ” under Qualcomm USB Settings. I can see RNDIS + DM + MODEM and others and they didn’t help.
I think I tried all solutions provided in the forum , I would appreciate your advice on this.
Cheers,

Nand erase was a bad idea as this would have erased all your efs area also including your mac addresses for bluetooth and wifi. So the problem runs alot deeper and is far more serious.
Best thing to do is warranty replacement. Had you have not selected nand erase I could have recovered your device for you.

Hi lyriquidperfection,
Thank you for your response.
1- Actually I'm able to connect to WIFI and Bluetooth, So do you think the erase was not successful? Do you see any luck?
2- I took Kies backup for all items just before I did the mistakes, does it help?
Thank You.

I removed the IMEI from one Mobile to remove the SIM lock I still can call and use the mobile like before
TWRP Recovery can Backup EFS what recovery do you use?
Maybe you can generate your own efs area the IMEI should print inside the mobile
Hi frogfire,
Thank you for the info!
Actually I tried to do that using QPST but:
a-The COM status is NO Phone when I connect the phone.
b- I was not able to see the option “RMNET + DM + MODEM ” under Qualcomm USB Settings. I can see RNDIS + DM + MODEM and other options which dont help.
Any idea?

Well you did wipe the NAND, nothing else you can do
Im not sure that NAND has been wiped successfully , because I can access the download option and the wifi is working.
Do you think it has been wiped and require a new motherboard?

You won't get more qualified help than from Samsung here. Exchange the board.
Thanks guys for the help anyway, I sent it to other service center, lets see how it goes.
So if they changed the main board, doesnt mean I will get new IMEI code for my phone?

Without a backup, not much.
The time to think about your IMEI number is BEFORE doing any flashing or modification to your device. Backing this up really should be the first thing anyone does before jumping into the fray.
Without a proper backup, you have an expensive media player.
going out on a whim here,, are we able to use someone elses backup to atleast get the stuff back then change the imei to our devices one?

[Q] i9305 Schematic/PCB photos for jtag

Hello,
I managed to give some hard times to me, after flashing an i9305 that I bought from eBay. The phone was rooted, in full working order, and when I flashed it to revert to stock, I managed to check EFS CLEAR, without taking any EFS backup beforehand. My odyssey is well knows to many of you; imei null/null, baseband null, to cut a long story short, I have a Samsung Galaxy S3 lte player. It does all but recognizing sim cards and provisioning networks (fair enough as I don't have a valid imei!!!).
I have gon ethrough the whole SGS2 forum, all topics, all solutions; I even unscrewed my phone to see if I can JTAG it, and that's only because QPST and EFS Pro cannot connect to my phone. Octopus and Samsung Tool CAN connect, but I cannot write imei. I cannot upload nvm files (I have a second, stock, and a friend of mine has one rooted from where we extracted the nvm in order to flash it on mine and rewrite imei), so as I read on the i9300 relevant thread, the phone can be jtaged in order to start receiving Rx and Tx commands and be able to upload the nvms and rewrite the imei.
The thing is that nobody tried to jtag this phone, and if someone did, nobody posted the resistance that has to be short circuit. As I saw here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=28073021&postcount=5 it is possible for i9300. Is there some schematic for i9305 then, or someone knows which resistance I have to short?
Any help will be appreciated...
you can still connect through Odin or adb, connecting is not the issue. there's nothing to write, imei is not stored in plain text, it's encrypted, so you won't be able to restore it if you don't have a backup. send it to service
I have the same problem bat I have imei back up sent it to repair center and after 2 month have it back
told me replace motherboard pay 250 euro bikose the binary counter 6.

Kalimera filaraki!
Unfortunately I was unable to fix it. Sotmax (member on both xda and myphone) offered to fix it. He could do it for a small cost but I would have to ship it from Thessaloniki to Kefalonia, and it was during the days that the ship workers were on strike. So it would delay a bit more, and I preferred to sell it. A guy over here (who then became friend and we exchange from time to time), bought it and fixed it in 10 minutes!!!!
He has schemas and JTAGs for most of the commercial phones, and I think that he had to open it and de/solder some pcb. It's not something difficult for him, but for you and me it's an issue!! The thing is that someone is now happy with the phone, and I am happy with my new gray 9305!
So if you need to fix it and you cannot find a workaround, you can always try talking to one of these 2 guys to have your work done! I know how much Sotmax is charging for the repair, and he says his job is guaranteed. you just have to be patient for 2 days to ship and 2 days to return (the fix takes no more than 30 minutes as he said). The other guy (his nickname is demernick at insomnia) didn't tell me how much he takes to fix, but it's much quicker as he only needs 1 day to ship from Florina to Thess, and another 1 day to return, so it's half time
There is also another one guy who writes in here. He says that he can do the job over the internet via teamviewer (you just have to follow his instructions and post the original IMEI from the box and phone under the battery), and he works with Octopus box ans Samsung Tool. If he manage to fix it, he charges you 10 euros via Paypal! He spent 2 days for me, so I donated that 10 euros to him for his work, even though he couldn't fix it... his website is cvxcvx.pl and I think his name in here has something to do with the website.
All 3 of them are trusted users. 2 of them are respected in here, and demernick is well established on insomnia!
If you need some extra help, feel free to contact me!

Are you sure you ticked EFS clear? Could it be that you had Perseus kernel prior to installing stock? I had some similar problem and as a result my phone only works with Perseus kernel installed.
I would try installing Perseus kernel to see if the phone magically springs back to life.

I was aware of Perseus, but that wasn't the issue. I DID tick the EFS Clear. After booting back to normal, the imei wasn null/null and the /efs folder was wiped out. it was en empty folder with just 1-2 files in it...

Thing is, the I9305 doesn't store IMEI in the EFS. Which is why I find this a little strange.

Phone does not connect to Network (started after being stuck at samsung logo)

Hi everyone,
I rooted my note and was using Jon ROM V3 for the last 3 months. Never had any malicious apps and my phone was working as usual.
Yesterday I took my phone and see that it is stuck at Samsung logo (an hour ago it was working fine). Tried reset and re-flashed ROM but no luck.
Later through download mode i flashed Official Indian Firmware(I live in India). Now I by passed the logo screen and the phone shows full signal bars but not able to connect to carrier network.
(tried all basic work out like removing battery/sim and re-inserting to phone and boot up)
I pressed power key and it did not show the power menu , it directly switched off mobile.
I rooted again with Philz kernel and flashed JON ROM. Still i see that my phone is not able to connect to any network. Also I observe that even here on this ROM when i press power key it directly turns off.
This is weird. I thought my IMEI was wiped off but im lucky to see that its still there.
I need your help. Im without my phone for the last 2 days now.
-
Jonathan
Note - I find that my IMEI number has been changed (to some generic IMEI 004999010640000) after i flashed the official firmware !!!! that's why it is not connecting to any network.
Someone please help me.
How did you flash the official firmware?
was it a tar file or a zip? I mean did you use odin?

It was a tar file The official Indian firmware I got from sammobile
either a glitch or you selected by accident clear efs.
anyways without efs backup hard to recover emei.
Do you get the simcard enter pinscreen on boot? If you dont then its not imei, if you do then you need someone like cvxcvx, search to fix it. That or Samsung

You have a so called "developer IMEI". If you didn't safe your EFS then there is no real chance to restore it yourself.
There is a member (cxlcxl) who has hardware and can restore the original IMEI remotely.
But you still can use your device. Try to change the Sim Pin in the settings: you can use the same Pin for old and new (this is easier for me because sometimes I forget the new number).
After this the network connection should come back.
My workaround in my Pristine Custom Rom: one different jar-file that doesn't have the checks on startup from my old XXLSC dump. With this it works completely normal: Sim and Pin are always recognized from startup. I'm using this for many months now.

[Q] No calling, no texting, everything else works

Hi everyone!
I bought recently a new galaxy s advanced and for some weird reason i can't make calls, can't text and can't receive anything. But i can unlock my sim without any problem and i can use mobile internet.
I had first the original gingerbread rom (i9070XXLK2), rupgraded it to 4.1.2 jelly bean(i9070XXLQE), rooted it, upgraded the kernel to this one: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2140597 and after that tried a cyanogen rom(this one => http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2497660 ), went after the cyanogen back to the 4.1.2 but nothing works.
atm it is running original 4.1.2 rooted and cwm.
I also tried galaxSim but it doesn't support the galaxy s advanced, also the *#simlock# thing does not work. I am not sure there is a simlock on the phone because mobile internet works.
If you need more info just ask! Not really sure what information you need to know.
I have no idea what to do now, i hope some1 can help me.

You must do Factory reset when you change ROM. Do it now.
Do you have I9070 or I9070P? On CM you do not have network unless you change tee folder if your phone is I9070P.

I have factory resetted it 3 or 4 times (after every rom flash).
It's an I9070, not the P one.
If some1 tries to call me they hear an automated message tape thing that says my number is blocked and i need to call my provider.
I did call my provider and there is nothing blocking my number or the phone.
When i put my sim in another phone everything works fine so the issue must be in the phone itself.
Thanks for trying to help :highfive:

I tried 3 different SIM's but all from the same provider, i am going to visit a friend tomorrow to lend his SIM (he has another provider). I wiped dalvik cache every time i factory resetted it (after every rom flash)
Is it possible there is a piece of hardware in the phone blocking the calls and the messages?
Found out something new, if i do phone (the app) => call settings => additional settings, i get a message saying "network or sim card error".
I am searching for an hour now for a fix but i can't find anything. I will keep searching for another couple of hours, i really want to fix this.

I don't know, as far i can see there is no sign of a provider/region lock. During boot no logo from a provider, sim can be unlocked when it asks for my PIN.
I tried to figure out if there is a simlock with *#SIMLOCK# but the code does not work. Any idea how i can see if there is a sim-lock?

I bought it from an auction, a phone shop went bust and they sold thousands of phones. They had over 20 shops and they were not promoting a provider.
it was brand new in a sealed box and as far as i know i don't have warranty.
Is there a place to check if there is still a warranty on the phone?
EDIT: just checked and i have still warranry (produced at oktober 2012) but the problem i have now is, i flashed it a couple of times, isn't my warranty ruined now?

I am not sure how is it in your country about that. You can go to some service center to see if the phone is locked to some carrier.
I just tried to check the binary counter, but as far as i can see it didn't move during the flashes and looks original
When i go in download mode i get this:
Odin mode
Product name: GT-I9070
Custom binary download: no
current binary: samsung official
I think this means it got still warranty?
If it is, i'm going to put back jelly bean on it and try to send it back to samsung, is there a chance they will fix it and won't find out i messed with it?

Thanks for the help, just switched back to JB (stock version of course) checked the download screen again and it's still good,
No root stuff on the phone anymore, eveything looks how it's suppose to i think
requested to rma the phone and it will be sent tomorrow.
i hope they fix it! Again thanks for the help! :highfive:
Sad news, the phone is back from RMA and there is a simlock on it, but the problem is i can't find a method to remove it 4 free (don't want to pay even more for the damn thing). I am going to a shop from the original carrier over a couple of days(i know which carrier simlocked the crap out of it and they have shops not really far from here) but i am not sure they unlock it for free, and tbh the people that work there probably have no clue how to do it, so i don't have a lot of hope for that so i want to try it first myself if that's possible, but i tried already a couple of things and none of them works. Anyone an idea how i can remove it?

I did not see anyone that unlocked sgsa here on the forum… And I did not see any guide about it for our device.

I was afraid of that, thanks to confirm. Went to the carrier which locked the phone and they said it is illegal to unlock it, which isn't true of course (checked it everywhere and it is legal) I will find a way to fix it with the carrier, thanks for the help.

[Q] Xperia Z IMEI number problem

Hi,
I am in serious problem with my xperia Z. One of my friend took the device for use. After his returning i have found that the wifi is not working and when i enter a sim card the device could not detect the sim card network (a red cross in the network bar) but its camera, audio, video is working as usually. After checking the settings i found that there is no IMEI number, its hust Blank! i contacted with the xperia customer care they said i would have to change my motherboard, which will cost nearly the phone's price!
Is there anyway i can put IMEI number in the device? I have the IMEI number in the box.

You can try with flashing new ROM via Flashtool, just find .ftf file that works for you (check your model and build number).

Ask your friend what he did with the phone...
Besides that do what was mentioned earlier: flash a stock .ftf file and see if it changes

Changing the motherboard he is idio*:silly:
Just flash FTF with flashtool
Dont forget to backup your data before you do!
The IMEI is stored in the TA partition. If that has somehow been corrupted, then the only fix is to replace the motherboard. Flashing an FTF will not help in that case.
Similar case here. Lots of solutions tried, but the motherboard ended up being replaced.

Now I can use camera, audio, video everything except network & wifi. If i flash the device then is there any chance that it would be permanently bricked?

It's very very unlikely that you'll brick your phone with Flashtool. I've never seen anyone say it's happened.
It uses the same method as the official Sony tools to flash firmware to your device, so it's safe.

Could any of you please help me with which flashtool i need to to install?
1. i have tried following the procedure mentioned in sonymobile/developer site. i have installed this flshtool given there. when i connected my device it said "Locked bootloader".
2. then i have unlocked the bootloader following sonymobile\unlockbootloader. then i connected the device again
3. now it says "No available services matched the connected device".
did i installed wrong flashtool? what should i do now?
You need the unofficial Flashtool.
www.flashtool.net
By unlocking your bootloader without making a backup of your TA partition, you invalidated your warranty and lost the unique DRM keys from your device forever. You should have asked here before doing that.

http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-z/general/ftf-10-5-0-230-c6602-c6603-journalist-t2759636 download your model specific FTF
Hey I have flashed my device with the C6602_10.5.A.0.230_Customized_US.ftf from your given link. but it has got worse. when i have powered ON the display flashed couple of time then the sony, Xperia logo passes by, then the blue Xperia Z screen for couple of minutes then it restarts again and again.. it is in a boot loop. I had to flash it with the previous C6602_10.1.1.A.1.253_GLOBAL-HSPA.ftf because the battery was draining down... still network and wifi broken
