i just got my nexus and its still on stock non root. but i remember when i was on lg optimus one, every rom/kernel i flashed made the cam performance lesser than stock. is it the same with our nexus? tia

No.
Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk 4 Beta
No. Its been said already but I'll elaborate. The camera will remain the same because the stock camera is AOSP. Because the different Roms get the camera from AOSP the camera will be the same. The beauty of having a nexus device is that anything from AOSP will work perfectly on our device.

Has it been ported to us yet?
Sent from my Nexus S 4G using XDA App
Nope. Touchwiz framework is required. Alot of time and heavy modding would be needed. Unless touchwiz is ported to the nexus we wont have camera video player etc that requires its framework.
Oh and wrong section

Camara360 or vignette. Dont think they do video though. I may be wrong though.

Tap to focus, burst, color modes, brightness control. I'm looking for it too, but I want the latest one. The one linked here is old. I tried pulling the apk from the latest MIUI build for our phones but it force closes.

Oh, both times when I flashed MIUI I did not test out the camera, will do now since there are quite a few improvements I see.

Same here. I've even dropped the new apk into the flashable zip and it still force closes. I've given up and just use the old one. Still better than stock.

The one feature i find amazing in the Samsung camera app is the "Add Me" feature which i can't find anywhere else.

Fix2 FC'd on me everytime I attempted to take a picture. Cleared data, no dice.
I can recommend the camera app MagicHour which was also recommended by Roman Guy a few weeks ago. Even though it's a bit laggy, it still does a nice job.

miui also use a custom framework?
Sent from my Nexus S using XDA Premium App
yeah but i thought it was mostly based off cm7 and thats what i tried it on. miui has some odd quirks and doesn't have the greatest battery life on my phone or i would just run it full time.
the camera is almost worth it haha. the stock and cm7 camera's are pitiful when compared to cm6 or other stock cameras. touch to focus seems like a must have feature to me.

Is there a way to get the 13mp working on cm? Would really love to utilize it.
Sent from my LG-VS980 using Tapatalk
Yea I've noticed that CM doesnt use the stock camera settings in its camera, the quality is horrible. I recommend buying (Snap Camera HDR) it will improve the quality of the photos and is able to capture in 13mp.
Sent from my VS980 4G using Tapatalk
I have no clue what either of you are talking about, 13mp works perfectly in CM11 a and IMO the CM11 camera takes better pictures than the stock ROM.
I believe their is a modded kk aosp camera in jishnus or xdadebb's post that will work. Its in one of the non variant g2 development sections

Thanks guys. Can't find the post in the lg g2 threads, but I will continue looking.

Focal on the play store is pretty good and it's free. I've had pretty good success with it and I believe it's made by CM guys. It has a lot of features, but the interface is a bit clunky
I've found that the Jishnu LG stock camera port:
1. Has pretty bad focusing issues
2. You have to exit the app to look at the photo you just took
3. Front Camera crashes the app
That's enough that I won't use it.
Well.....snapchat lol....no better cam is out right now until you actually use liquid smooth....best ROM out

After owning my Note 4 for a few days, I already miss stock Android found on Nexus devices. I'm really thinking about returning this and getting a Nexus 6 just for that reason.
Are there any good *fully working* (i.e. EVERY FEATURE WORKS) stock Android roms available for the Note 4? I'm not even talking Cyanogen here as even that is a bit too modded for my taste. I just like the simplicity of stock Nexus roms.

Cm12 just landed in the development threads, it's an alpha, but pretty smooth so far. I'm sure development will be pretty fast.

As I mentioned, I don't want Cyanogen. Just Nexus style AOSP.

Probably not going to be made for this device since AOSP styles (like Nexus 5 and below) are from 4.x firmwares.
Going forward not backward. Cyanogen is the closest you'll get.
Why buy a Note to rip out all its pen goodness? Just curious.

Xenon Hd. Buttery smooth, love the layers as well but missing the camera quality of touchwiz roms.
Moved to Q&A.
Haven't tried any other aosp roms other than Temasek's. I've used his roms in the past, always a big fan of his work.
