[Q] All system files GONE. Help? - Galaxy S III Mini Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I rooted my S3 Mini (GT-I8190N) and went to flash CM10 beta2 on it. After I flashed it, I realized that I had forgotten to wipe the cache, dalvik cache and factory reset. I went to seek advice on the net, but being me, I misinterpreted it, therefore (noob alert) booting into CWM and formatting /system, /data, /preload, /efs, etc etc. Now, when I boot up my phone, It just shows me the S3 Mini sign and stays like that. Help? (Sorry for being a noob)

Nevermind
Well... I found the solution. I just needed to reflash the kernel. Thanks anyways

Galaxy Mini Stuck at bootloop!

Guys i've bricked my phone once already with this damned app called ROM manager, luckily the samsung guys replaced the motherboard, but it was loaded with dreaded stock 2.2 FW after much thought i decided to upgrade it back to 2.3(i've done it many times) but suddenly somethin went wrong! Odin displayed pass message but my galaxy mini won't boot beyond the samsung logo!
i cleaned cache through recovery console but no use, reflashed with the same firmware damn it didn't work either. Finally i collected the courage to wipe data/factory reset through the recovery console n guess what it worked!!
bit i rele wanna know what caused the bootloop in the first place??
Sorry but wipe the base after the flash.
I am not surprised that he fell in bootloop. Me too this happened if I did wipe.
just reflash the firmware...if it doesnt work, try a different firmware...
i tried the asian version of gingerbread on my phone...and i had the same problem...but the european version worked for me...
try to wipe data/reset and wipe cache partition and also dalvik cache
After and before all ROM flashes you must wipe your data and cache. Everybody knows that.
You don't need to make useless threads that you fixed your problems or something, we don't need to know that.

It was because of your previous data and cache.... Wiping both data and cache solves the problem.

If you read the first post, you'll see that he solved it himself.
he has asked the question because he clearly has not made the association between what he has done to fix the issue with what caused the issue.

That bootloop was caused because of errors that came when 2.2 data or cache was trying to load in 2.3. I might be wrong, but what else can it be?
SwankyShaan
Yeah it happened with the Asian version, we're supposed to clear the cache afta the upgrade right?
then I don't think its related with the cache it has to be with 2.2 redundant data I feel either way its such a pain clearing all the apps n data:-(
Hi
Mine is Gingerbread 2.3.4 on H3G.
First I rooted it, then installed CWM Recovery via Odin method, it gave PASS and things went ok.
Today morning going thru some threads came across the similar thread for CWM Recovery where it said to Wipe Data after install CWM Recovery, so I went in Recovery mode and wiped data and partition cache as well.
Now the problem started when I restarted the phone, it just wont pass Samsung logo and then back to 3 animation.
whats gone wrong, what should I do now.
thanks

ROM MANAGER DOESN'T BRICK IF YOU USE IT OVER CWM!!!!!!!

Problems after factory reset

I've majorly screwed up. I'm using a samsung galaxy ace s5830. After partioning my sd card I found that I couldn't root my phone since cwm was not allowing it. So I got frustrated and did a factory reset. Now my phone will not get passed the samsung intro and the blinking samsung sign. Please help
Reflash a rom with odin, it will wipe anything wrong (just remember to wipe data, wipe cache, and wipe dalvik cache)
Thanks will do so. can you shed some light as to how a simple factory reset got me into a boot loop

After wipe data/factory reset, bootloops can be solved by wiping cache and dalvik cache.
If something got messed in the kernel while trying to flash the root zip, then wiping everything will still keep an error, maybe that's what caused the bootloop, this is fixed with a fresh odin flash.
Check that your root zip is compatible and thay you use the correct recovery to flash it (sometimes it must be done through stock recovery, sometimes through cwm)

[Q] I9305 Won't boot new rom

Hi. My galaxy s3 4g I9305 OPTUS AUSTRALIA. has been rooted cwm installed. I have tried to install Xtreme.v6.1 and supreme rom 5.0. Neither would fire up after multiple attempts. I have wiped delvic cache, cache partition, wipe data/ factory reset, battery stats and fix permissions.
both roms load (flash) sucessfully then I get the samsung reboot screen and after that a pulsing samsung logo which stays for hours. can any one tell me what I may have missed? Flash is done via cwm install zip from sd card.

Try to do the 3 wipes...
I would try TWP recovery, as big as CWM is I have found many bugs and such with it and so far absolutely zero with TWP. Is it giving you any errors when trying to flash via CWM? Read the text because it may just be warnings and install anyway. There are also logs you can upload (go to advanced settings I believe)

[Q] Help Stuck in CWM bootloop after formatting system

Hey guys sorry if this has already been posted. I tried to search through the other threads but couldn't find anything with my exact problem. I am a noob when it comes to this stuff so please bear with me. I was trying to reinstall my ROM when I made the dumb mistake to format system, When I was in recovery I wiped data/factory reset, wiped the cache partition, wiped Dalvik cache, and then for some reason went to format system. After I did that and went to reboot the phone it asked me to fix root. I did this and it started the CWM bootloop. Does anyone have any ideas what I can do to fix it?
exitrecovery.zip will stop the boot loop.

Also try this...
Pull battery..
Count to 10.
Replace battery.
Press and hold Volume Down and power until the Factory Reset screen comes up..
Hit the power button twice, once to start and the second to confirm.
This should put you into your recovery mode... There you should be able to install the ROM again..
At least this is what has always worked for me...

[Q] Is my phone broke?

Sorry if this is in the wrong section
I was trying to flash a rom on my Samsung galaxy mini. So I wiped data/factory reset and cache partition only to realise I had not installed CWM recovery last night like I thought. So now I've got a phone that's useless.
Is there anything I can do about it or is it one for the bin? I have two of them could I copy the data from the other?

Wipe data does not mean it's broken. It will just reboot to stock rom like you turned it on for first time vever.
