[Q] WP8 GDR3 Changelog? - Windows Phone 8 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello, is there any info on the WP8 GDR3 update ? A changelog wold be nice, but all i can finde is something about 5 colums in live title and support for HD LCD and CPU Support thats all

There is no changelog and this is currently all the information that is available. The GDR updates don't bring a lot of user facing new functionality. Microsoft only delivers that with Major Updates like Blue which is supposed to hit in early 2014.

[Q] Mango Update ?

What would you do if there was a update for mango ?
Will you update your phone the very first second it's open for download ?
or Will you wait to see the feedback from other members and wait few weeks or a even few months ?.
I cant see anyone waiting, the features in mango fill so many holes in WP7 as it is at the moment such as multi tasking and improved IE, thats just my prediction anyway on this poll
The sooner the update comes out the better, I will update it the second I know its out and will update sooner if it is leaked somehow.
WP7 as it is at the moment is still an amazing OS but there are things that need to be added such as socket support so that developers can make more network rich applications. such as RDP without a proxy in the middle.

English translation from that link using google translate
Sony XPERIA T, currently the best communicator Sony, was certified yesterday marked a new firmware 7.0.A.3.193. Although we do not know what news will bring us to the issue forward a lot. According to the changes in the numbering of the innovation after all should be quite significant. On the other hand, I must immediately add that even with the current firmware version I Model T XPERIA extremely satisfied.
Although I have a new version of firmware joy, much happier would I do if manufacturer officially announced the time in which their phones will upgrade to Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. Now this powerful phones should be updated first, and wait by the manufacturer in their presentation stated that they will get a new Android very soon after they enter the market. Personally, therefore, I firmly believe that the new Android comes up in November this year and will be a great tuned product. Existing Android 4.0.4, which is very well tuned and fully functional, the best models in this book are not fit but wants it and just go with the times. Samsung Galaxy S3 already received the update, HTC One X receives it every day. Sony was just as it will last, but it wants to minimize the loss of competition. In terms of hardware missing model T XPERIA nothing important, what would prevent an update soon. But back to the topic of the article - what do you expect from the new version 7.0.A.3.193 you? What news would you have done happy? You can discuss this topic on our forums.

Was about to say the same thing....
The Xperia T's that were on display at IFA ran the 7.0.A.3.X branch and contained several features missing from 7.0.A.1.X including the updated media apps (Xperia V style) and WiFi Miracast mirroring. My guess is that this update will contain those things too.

question about roms of WP8 and one for devs

about the rom, i want to know is WP8 rom are all Microsoft?
i mean if Microsoft put an OTA update on there cloud will i get is on the same day on 8X or 920?
or its like android where nokia or htc have to deliver it after optimization for there phone?
and for devs if some one is working on hacking WP8? and if soo is it going to be a custom rom or a jailbreak like IOS?
thanks
Won't be anything like IOS, far far far from It. It'll be exactly like WP7. Each device will require different exploits.
Some devices will get custom mods(hopefully), some won't. Simple as that.
Regarding your first question all updates come from Microsoft.
Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
The process with WP7 has been like this:
- Microsoft develops the OS specific updates
- Updates get sent to OEMs and Carriers for Testing and driver updates in case of the OEMs
- after approval by their partners Microsoft deploys the updates from their servers
There has been lots of speculation that with the introduction of the OTA Update system Microsoft will push smaller OS updates without carrier/oem testing. Actually installing an additional language pack for voice recognition which many people have done already uses that same update system. Core system updates still will have to go through the OEMs to ensure there are no compatibility issues with their hardware.
In that way there is no guarantee that all updates will be pushed to all devices in the same timeframe (Microsoft has never notified all devices of an update on the same day - they are using a staggered approach that rolls out updates over 3 - 4 weeks, similar to what they are doing with XBox dashboard updates, though it seems that manually checking on the phone should make the update appear anyway).
All in all past updates following Nodo (Microsoft's first update to WP7) have arrived on the majority of phones over such a 3-4 week timeframe, although there have been exceptions (Tango was not rolled out on some US carriers at all and Telefonica in spain regularly lagged behind by some months).
thanks ppl !! i got it now! i just hope in WP8 it wont be like android where users wait 6 months for a jelly been update or 4.1 -> 4.2
How long do you think ppl have been waiting for 7.8, duh

i meant after the update is published and has been delivered to HTC Samsung and ech
7.8 went RTM around two weeks ago. People are waiting for updates naturally but it's not like Microsoft releases them for some while everyone else has to wait.
soo basically we will never escape the wait for an update... beside nexus but i dont like android...

There is rumor of an 8.1 release, probably not for another 3 to 6 months, maybe longer. It is rumored to bring many of the requested features that users have been complaining is missing

Windows Blue is the next big update wave across Microsoft's assets including Windows 8 and Windows Phone 8. It's expected during summer/fall of 2013 (I'd guess rather fall).
Until then I suspect that we will see another smaller update bringing CardDAV/CalDAV support as it seems Microsoft is working on it after Google anounced to cut EAS support in GMail and that after Microsoft intervened Google pushed back the cut off date to July. That's all based on what little information we have.
The whole IT industry seems to have moved to a model of not giving us exact information on roadmaps so no one can give you a definitive answer.
LOL I'm still waiting on Portico.

[Question]Razer 2 pie stock firmware

Can anyone comment full pie firmware for Razer 2
Let's see what the system says...
there's no pie firmware yet ?
This brings up a good point though. For all their marketing about this being a flagship phone, they released with a version of Android that launched 08/21/2017, and we are still not updated with a version released almost a year ago. We should be hitting Razer's social media with this as our silence tells them that we are content with Samsung-esque update cycles.
Accidental double post
this is the response I got from them about the release date, Like the last paragraph....
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hi Thomas,
Great day! Thank you for contacting Razer support. This is regarding your concern about the availability of Android Pie for Razer phones. Razer is committed to supporting the latest versions of Android and we are working on releasing Android P for the Razer Phone. We do not have a defined release date yet and the dates may vary based on your region and mobile provider. To ensure you get the release as soon as it is available, please be sure your Razer Phone always has the latest software updates installed via OTA.
We don't suggest to download the android P from a computer to your Razer phone as it will automatically void the limited warranty of the phone and may cause some apps to work as it should be.
