Just got a new HTC One yesterday, rooted and s-off without too much grief thanks to you guys and was flashing a few of the AOSP-based ROMs when suddenly, data completely stopped working and nothing I've done seems to fix it.
Basically it's mostly showing the completely empty triangle, no white bars or blue bars or anything. I've tried messing with the settings in Mobile Networks (although I make sure not to turn on roaming), I've tried turning Airplane mode on and off, hitting the tile in Power Menu, taking the Sim card out, I've tried re-flashing different ROMs, the same ROM, I even went back to the stock backup I made in TWRP immediately after getting s-off and the problem is persisting.
Is there some critical step with the CID or something I missed and I've completely screwed over the phone? The only thing I haven't tried is relocking the bootloader and flashing the stock RUU but I'm willing to try that if there's nothing else.
Anyone has any ideas, please let me know.

The AOSP ROM you flashed is for the international/AT&T/T-mobile version. I'm guessing you need the CDMA(Sprint) AOSP ROM.

As long as you can get into recovery I would try to wipe then install a new ROM meant for the sprint version. If not the RUU should def fix your problem.

Have you tried going back to a stock Rom calling sprint on another phone and have them re provision your device? That's what I have done in the past when that happened on my gs3. Try that before you go through all that hassle with relocking and Ruu.
Your s-off no need to relock the bootloader. Sounds like Your APN's are messed up.

Well, it seems to magically be getting data again. I guess I freaked out too soon - but I've had this problem with another HTC phone so I was expecting the worst. If it happens again, I'll try what you suggested Jahspree, thanks.
Benny3 - Is there any way to mess with those on a Sprint phone? I'm used to doing it with AT&T, but I don't see any option on this one.

Hi all, I'm a normal XDA user with my HTC hero.
My girlfriend recently bought the Rogers Samsung Captivate, and had a few issues with it. First the battery life was only lasting half the day. Then one day, it restarted itself 5 times. Then it seemed like it was laggy. At first when she told me about the battery issue I thought, ok maybe if we put a custom ROM on, it may help. So I rooted, put clockwork recovery, then installed Assonance ROM. We seemed to have gotten rid of the lag but the random restarts seemed to persist, then she was having Sms's coming in weird, so I decided we should put it back to stock and get it back to rogers. So i tried doing a restore from clockwork, but it still has the AT&T logo, and when the phone boots, I have a black screen that says no service on the top right, and swipe screen to unlock, but it won't unlock.
All I want is this thing back to stock, no AT&T screen so I can try to warranty this thing.
Thanks in advance for any help, I've done some searching and can't seem to get this thing back to life.
Thanks,
AZ

Scroll down and you will see a link to the stock Roger's ROM.
Microwave...15 seconds...you don't want to overcook
I have that, i'm trying to install it, but it's taking a long time to start installing update. I've tried reformatting everything, I've tried renaming the Rogers stock to update.zip.
any thoughts on how long it should take to install, or any better instructions on how to get back to stock?
Still stuck at installing update after 15 minutes.
also, is there go instructions on how to get rid of the AT&T Logo, or will the stock rom/firmware fix that?
Ok So, I unzipped the stock firmware and it seems to have installed, but I still get the AT&T logo, and I'm still frozen at the swipe screen to unlock section. I can't swipe at all or do anything for some reason.

I'd just like to post that I had this exact same issue when I tried to restore to my original ROM Manager backup, and a solution would benefit both of us.

Nope. I'd always be stuck at that black lock screen unable to unlock. After one erase and restore there was a background image instead of blackness, but it didn't go any further. I just decided to stick with Assonance, but that's not really an option for you unfortunately.
so I was wrong right from the beginning, I didn't flash Assonance, i flashed Cognitionv2.3b8. Sorry for the confusion
I clipped this from the above link to the rogers stock rom.
"Be aware when installing AT&T Firmware 2.2 and trying to recover to Rogers stock, you will have a short AT&T display on boot up. One way to remove this is to flash the phone with firmware from a Samsung I9000 model and then reflash it with the Rogers Firmware. This will remove the AT&T logo. However, there is a chance that this method may, in certain circumstances, leave a seemingly random pixlation on screen upon boot-up for the time the AT&T logo was meant to be displayed. A very minor issue and doesn't affect the phone or boot process"
So try to find a stock I9000 rom I guess. The assonance rom is based off the I9000(Or at least that what it says on boot :/). I'm not sure if that will be good enough. I'm running Assonance right now on my fiance's rogers captivate. It's been working great since she has gotten it. So maybe even just flashing Assonance will fix things for you.
As a side note, I returned my x10 with a custom rom on it for warranty and I never heard from them. My understanding(hearsay) is that it doesn't even go to rogers. I'm in Ontario, and I believe it goes to a refurbishing company that is contracted by rogers where they check for water damage.
So I'm not sure where you are located but it may be the same.
(Disclaimer: I'm not saying you WONT get billed for the phone if you send it back with custom rom on it.. I'm simply saying that I didn't and I have heard of others not being as well. Perhaps we were just lucky)
Good Luck.
If you try this let me know if it works, should I ever need to send hers in for warranty.

I am smart enough apparantly to get myself into trouble with flashing and rooting...I thought i had a pretty good grip on this till this happened.
I know you guys are working hard and my problems are small and silly in the grand scheme of things, if I missed something in my searches I apologize, I looked for hours and found one other post, but that persons issue was slightly different than mine. I own a Htc vivid ( holiday, raider) I was originally running the stock ICS ruu, I reflashed to the Pre-rooted ICS rom, it froze due to my "fiddling" with the font settings. I tried to flash back to the original ICS RUU, when the Prerooted version would not take on my phone. Everything seemed great until it froze at 34%. I have attempted to boot into recovery (volume - and power) and get nothing but the black screen with four triangles in the corners and the HTC logo in the middle, I am using the original USB cord, I have tried rerunning this from a few different computers with it only to get stuck at the 34% mark again and again. I would love to get back to ICS pre rooted again, but at this point I am close to tossing it in the microwave for a few seconds and warrantying the phone out. Advice? Suggestions?
I appreciate any help thrown my way, as I said I know you guys are busy making awesome stuff happen, and my problems are small by comparison.
Thank you ahead of time!
Another member was (could still be) having what sounds identical (RUU stopping at 34%). Not sure if he's gotten it fixed, I do believe TheCubed is helping him with it still, you might hop on IRC (Freenode, #htc-holiday) and talk to TheCubed when he gets on.
If you manage to get back into the hboot try to re lock your bootloader and it'll reset everything if memory serves me right.

other user with same issue - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1581902
might want to follow that. I don't have any suggestions at this point other than the last suggestion in that thread. IF you can get to bootloader, try relocking bootloader and running the ph39img that thecubed posted to restore to GB, then try running the RUU.
Did you try to run the RUU while you were unlocked???? You need to be locked to run the RUU
Could it also be a bad RUU download? I would try downloading the RUU again, from another server if possible, and see if it gets stuck at the 34%.

So I wanted to overclock the HTC One and I went and installed this
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2307371
and now I'm stuck in a bootloop and a nfc msg comes up from time to time with a black screen when it boots all the way up, stays on for about 30 seconds and then reboots itself? Can anyone help please? I've tried reflashing my backup I made and still the same thing. I tried flashing a different kernel, the stock rooted kernel for sprint htc and still the black screen with a x next to the singal bar and the battery icon?? and reboots after 30 seconds?? Need help?

Are you flashing things from the HTC one forum. Or the SPRINT Htc one forum. You need to be in the Sprint htc forum as most of the things in the HTC one forum won't work on the sprint model. We have m7spr or something like that. Most of those are gsm.

If none of that worked use the RUU. Hopefully you're still on 1.29 firmware because I don't think a 1.31 has been released yet.

If you are on 1.31, the only way to RUU back at this point is to get s-off. I understand revone should still work for you. S-off will allow you to RUU an old (1.29) firmware. That is until we get a signed RUU of 1.31.

You screwed up your flash with a GSM HTC One kernel. The only real fix at the moment is to RUU your device and be more careful next time.
Thanks

Thanks for the replies. I RUU a new version and that worked.
Edit: Reread and missed things, no longer applies.
Also, overclocking an S600 is silly. I don't want to seem pessimistic, but that 1 to 2% performance improvement really doesn't mean anything.
Received a warranty replacement for my HTC One (M7), which is a brand new handset running 4.4.2 and sense 6.0. The wifi on the device will not turn on at all. It just looks like it is continuously trying to start with no way to stop it. My last two of the same phone had hardware issues and I am hoping for an easier fix than sending it away again under the warranty.
So far I have tried:
- Factory reset
- Tried to boot to recovery to clear the caches, but it just goes to a black screen
- Toggling between Airplane mode (as suggested on some forums)
- Tested setting up as a portable hotspot. It goes through the steps and completes, but then just says that the feature is still switched off
Any help would be appreciated. I would rather not flash a custom rom, but am open to the idea if needed. If this is a hardware fault and needs to go away under warranty I would be better to find out now and send it off sooner.

Have you ruled out the possibility of it being your Router ?
have you tried to get wifi in different areas ? If it never connects to wifi anywhere it's most likely a hardware issue. I have never had a wifi issue with dozens of different software configurations. Unlocking the bootloader may void your chance of sending it back
If you dont want to send your phone back, i`d try to make a factory reset first. If that does not solve your problems, s-off your phone, install a custom recovery and flash a custom rom from xda. If that makes no difference try to flash a different firmware (that matches with your phone!!).
I hope that helped.
Good luck and if you have any questions, feel free to ask in this thread. :good:

In the house we have multiple tablets, computers, other phones, Chromecast, etc etc. My previous HTC Ones never had any issues with my wireless. The issue remains that the wireless on the device will not turn on at all in order to search for or connect to the WLAN. It just says "Turning on.." indefinitely.

I was hoping to avoid installing a custom rom this time around (had the stock M7 Google rom on previously). I may try a new rom just to rule out hardware issues. It's sounding more and more like Im going to have to return the phone...
I was/am rooted/unlocked, I flashed an unlocker for the hotspot, then the message for com.android.phone began popping up continuously. Tried accessing the bootloader, but for whatever reason, it won't let me get to it. It also appears that my Airplane Mode icon in Settings keeps rapidly blinking on and off.
I managed to turn on Debugging, but it doesn't seem that ADB can see the phone. I've tried to ADB into the bootloader and it won't work.
Windows DOES see the phone in Computer, so I know it does at least see it to access the drives on it.
Please, please tell me that there is still some way to make my phone work again.
Found my way into Recovery. Did a Factory Reset, but the issue is still there. Is there something I can flash that would fix the issue?
I don't care if I go back to stock, locked, unrooted. I just want my phone back. ^^;

Wow im just going down the list in Q&A and you keep popping up, lol. You are having way too many problems with a brand new phone, i would READ this thread and RUU.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2729173
And if you do RUU and first thing you should do is a nandroid backup in recovery. Also depending on what firmware you have i would S-off(then again with your track record maybe not) If something stops working after you just did something(like flash a mod or app) you can always go into recovery and restore a nand backup.
