error in /cache/recovery/sec_csc.zip - Captivate Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Got friend's phone caught up somewhere in between while the phone was working fine.
Running on Remics-JB and it restarted at once.
So thought to go back to recovery using the one click recovery uckf1 with bootloaders.
The flash was successful, however when it got reboot it said, "E: error in cache/recovery/sec_csc.zip"
Can anyone help me on this please.

U could try Wipe data/factory reset in the Stock Recovery then Reboot, if ya got ur stuff backed up already or if it doesn't matter at this point.
If that doesn't fix it then use the Stock KK4 One Click without bootloaders...Odin or Heimdall, whichever u r comfortable with, found here...http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=18370912&postcount=3

Did not work.
Now the phone shows new screen.

That screen just means that ur flash to stock was not successful. And that screen works just like a Download Mode screen. See this thread for info on Captivate - PC Connection Issues...http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=33227541&postcount=1
Try a different micro usb/usb cable and see if that will make the Odin or Heimdall flash to Stock KK4 successful.

Tab only boots to recovery and wont flash after dalvik cache clear

I was running galaxian soup ROM 1.4 and wanted to flash to 1.5.1. Unfortuantely I was not paying as much attention as I should have been and cleared the cache before doing a wipe cache worked ok, dalvik cache got part way through and tehn rebooted.
Now the device wont boot into the OS and instead reboots into recovery. When in recovery, attempting to do a wipe or a flash or a dalvik cache clear all start and then reboot.
Anyone have an idea on next troubleshooting steps? ANy help is greatly appreciated.
Odin to stock & try again.

Thanks for the reply.
I used odin to get to stock based on the instructions and files in this thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1406137
The process seemed to work, the odin screen gave me a green pass

and the device reboot but when it did it just reboot to this screen.
Any help is appreciated.
That's a bad flash..
Redownload the ROM and flash again.
Gotta love when Odin brain farts.
;-)
Edit; failing that follow the overcome restock instructions and all should be well.
Goodluck!

In my case, usually when coming back from the ICS Betas, some weird stuff happened with my tablet in more than one occasion. Errors with partitions to sum it up. The only way to make the tablet boot once more into Honeycomb was...selecting the nuke (wipe/factory reset in the Stock Recovery) making me lose all SDcard contents. I don't know whether this also applies to you or not, but keep it in mind.

Odin stuck on FactoryFS.img

Yeah.. I flash into N7000DXLP9_N7000OLBLP6_N7000DXLP5_HOME.tar. Then I installed CWM and wipe data/factory reset. Unfortunately, it hang. So i took out the battery and turn it on and found out the phone's bricked. I tried reflashing the Stock ICS ROM but failed at factoryfs.img(Stuck at like 5% lol). Already tried opening in admin, compatibility mode(XP SP 2), changed usb ports and restarted the computer. Haven't tried on a different computer though. Any ideas? If it's possible, I don't wait to PIT the phone... It's not mine. Thanks in advance
The binary count is still zero and there is no warning triangle thing. After some research, is this the Superbrick bug? Never thought that ICS rom can be this risky....

Welcome to superbrick club. Your MoBo needs to be replaced. There is a workaround - see the general section.
If you have flash counter zero, then dont try anything and just send it to service centre and tell them this happened after Kies update, to reclaim your warranty.

Dont play around with the work arounds, there are no solutions, only work arounds.
Your binary count is zero, take it the service center and get the MoBo replaced under warranty. It will save you sleepless nghts... trust me.
Okay. Thanks for the feedback.

GT-I9000 stuck on boot screen, need help.

As title states, a friend of mine asked me to try and fix his S1, first of all I boot to download mode (both 3 key & JIG work), and flash a few ROMS in ODIN, but the same thing, it stuck in boot screen, I tried bit 3 files & PIT, with repartition and without, nothing. Also I can't boot into recovery mode, I then open the device to check for any corrosion, but it's clean as a baby ass, then I disconnect the internal battery and connect back, but still no news, also it do charge the battery but not show it on the screen :
CHARGE:

PS, if you think the internal FLASH is bad, maybe there a way to use external SD card? and I mean an SD card you insert in the back of the davice.
What kind of ROM did you flash? GB, ICS or JB?
Sent from my Gameboy Color
I used the rescue kits ezodin so I guess it's GB, but also tried other roms, all roms was GB. What can you recommend, also is it possible that the problem with internal flash memory aka emmc?
You can try flashing a éclairs or froyo rom, but I am not sure of that will make a difference. Have you tried a stock rom?

[Q] Why doesn't Flashtool flash my Xperia?

Hello,
I just got an used Xperia Z I and I immediately wanted to root it. I has the newest firmware and so tried this guide by DooMLorD. The thing is I can't get past the second step. This is what I get:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

}
As you can see, the Wipe option is empty and pressing the flash button won't flash it anyways. Unknown sources and usb debugging is turned on
and it's connected in flash mode. Can you help me out?
Firstly, just to make sure that you have everything setup properly and are following the correct procedure - How to flash stock roms with Flashtool
Next; the wipe option is not supposed to be there, as the FTF doesn't contain /data (or anything but the kernel).
And finally, I do not connect my phone in flashmode until after pressing the 'Flash' button and being prompted to. Give that a try.

Thank you for the reply. It was like you said. Connect in flash mode after Flashtool prepped the kernel. Silly me, but I am happy now
Looking forward to tinker with the phone with the help of this wonderful community :laugh:
Happy to have helped.
