use MTP (Media Transfer Protocol) and not USB Mass Storage..

in addition make sure you installed samsung drivers to your pc..

formatting everything from CWM (system, preload, data...) and then flashin with Odin the latest jb firmware helped

Flashed 906 and Lost Internal Storage/SD Card

Hello all,
After flashing 906 I am having an issue where my internal storage/SD card do not mount/unmount properly. It seems the issue happens once I connect my D3 to a PC via a USB cable. The first problem is that even when I have it set to charge only the internal storage/SD card still get presented to my Windows PC as logical drives. This never happened before. If I disconnect the USB cable the internal storage/SD card do NOT get mounted back to the D3. I literally have to reboot the D3 in order to get back the internal storage/SD card.
Anyone else having this very weird issue?
Thanks,
Steve

CWM-based Recovery v6.0.1.4 - Can't mount SD card

I have a Galaxy Note with "CWM-based Recovery v6.0.1.4".
I am trying to install cm-10-20121007-NIGHTLY-n7000 from a 1 GB SD card formatted as FAT32.
I boot into Recovery and navigate to "choose zip from sdcard" and receive a message stating "E: Can't mount /sdcard/"
I don't understand what is wrong.
The card is fully working. If I boot into Android and plug the cable in, I can read/transfer data within Windows with no issues.
Move the file to internal SD card. Try flashing the CM file from Internal SD card.
Try flashing from internal sdcard and make sure you were on safe kernel before flashing

How do I access the "internal SD card?"
When I plug the phone into my PC, I get: Card (977 MB) and Phone (11 GB).
The ROM is currently on Card (977 MB).

What i mean is you need to be on safe kernel to flash roms
Check this

If you cant understand it,Simply flash hydracore kernel(its safe) if you are on ics

Check /storage/usbdisk in Solid/Explorer free. There is an obscure location too, I have seen posted. Search.
It should appear in settings-storage but no location or browsing access.

Please explain: working OK yet not via a card reader.

I use a USB shuttle for the micro cards not a "card reader". No problem.

Or even a all in one drive/USB combo up to 64 GB on 444.
Please post questions in the Q&A section.

Not enough space?

Hi,
is it normal that the system partition "Internal storage" is only 1,26 GB and the "USB storage" 5.77GB on the I9000? I installed CM11 but can't install enough Apps, because the system partition is so small. Is there a reason for that, is this a bug or is it normal?
Thanks
Correct me if I'm wrong..and i mite be but are you sure the 1.26 ur seeing is not ur ram?..and I may be way off on this but I don't think you should be seeing USB anything unless u have a thumb drive mounted...

bUT if ur internal memory is showing as USB no something not right..ur phone has at least 16 gigs of internal memory total right?

The i9000 i've got only has 8GB internal memory. And this is divided in 1,26GB internal storage and 5.77 USB storage. I don't know why CM11 says "USB Storage".
But the problem is with only 1.26 internal memory, you can't put all the apps / games on it that I'd like. Instead i have more than i need "USB storage".
yeah that is kind of dumb....sounds like ur only choice at this point is link2sd... or something similar. not Sure if you're familiar with it or have used it before..bUT I've owned a lot of low end phones and link2sd is a life saver...can move all of the apk. or just parts of the apk to sd...u will nead at least a half gig partition on ur sd card..my last phone had I think 2 gig internal storage and I had over 100 installed apps with room to spare

Backup/restore internally formatted SD partition

I'm using TWRP with Magisk and I do a regular backup of my whole phone using TWRP, but I've noticed that on restore I seem to have lost data, which I believe corresponds to whatever was on my SD card. My SD is also formatted as internal storage in Android settings. Usually I need to reinstall a few apps that have gone missing and some associated data and files.
I recognize this is a newb/basic question, but what can I do to avoid this? TWRP seems to allow me to backup two separate "data" partitions, which I would have guessed would have been true internal + SD. But it doesn't seem to work that way.
I also use SD card as internal and TWRP doesn't recognize it

I also use SD card as internal and TWRP doesn't recognize it , so can't use SD to backup or flash zips on it .
