I've tired several cords(including the OEM value l cable) to no avail. I've opened it and it seems my USB port is damaged. If I were to buy the Asus dock , would that charge it from the gold pins on the side?
Thanks

You might give this a try: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2090826
If it is really the usb port that's damaged, you should be able to charge from the dock, I think. Maybe buy one from some place you can return it?

I check this forum every day - so you weren't going to go very long without help.
I agree with the poster above. Check my sticky and see if any of the methods specified there help. Having a broken USB port introduces a variable not addressed in the sticky however. But I'd try the fixes in the sticky anyway. Can't hurt, right?

Thanks but if none of that worked would the dock still charge it?

I would think that the dock would work fine - but I would defer to other forum members who are more familiar with both docks and USB port issues.

I got me a few mouths ago a lenovo idea pad k1 and will like to get me a new tablet but wonted to type up what I was looking for in a tablet so you guys can help me find one.
A tablet with a full size USB port so I can use flash drives and usb hard drives for it and a HDMI port a 10 inc screen or bigger if there is one. Also with very good android development I'd like it running cm10.1 or cm10. And will like it to have a HD screen and it to be fast.

A phone is as complex as a laptop or a desktop one.
And is even more complex in a way cause all components are in scale
But for me is enough.
I actually want to try a career change.

It looks:
As if it's been adapted from one of their other products. The pictures of the user interface are completely wrong, as are some of the Q&A sections.
Very poorly translated from whatever language it was originally written in.
The schematics are amusing and obviously wrong in parts.

some of the Q&A are indeed from Optimus G as are some of the screens.
but schematics, exploded view, spare parts list are correct.
and this was uploaded in order to contribute in something which mightbe/is universal to Nexus 4 and even optimus G which are 2 siblings.

The schematics are missing the LED driver, and possibly other stuff. Have you also seen the sarcastic comment in the earphone jack section?

Now, replacing the battery is something people will want to do, but the instructions are just weird and the photos don't actually show the battery being removed.
Most of the tests will need specialist equipment and a lot of the troubleshooting flowcharts ultimately result in "replace the board".
Still if we could get hold of those download tools we should be able to unbrick any nexus 4.
There's lots of beating around the bush on this subject everywhere. There's no "Yes, you can charge the SGH-i317 with a wireless charger" or "No, you can not" anywhere that I can find.
So... Anyone know?
Yeah you could read this thread that is right next to the one you just created...

Kevin, I'm wondering if you have tried recording video in a quiet place and played it back - do you have the issue where the play back is full of static?

OP - sorry not trying to hijack your thread. This one is easily missed as a defect (under certain conditions).
