fine then don't co-operate. good luck
Stock kernel imposes system partition write protection following boot, so you can't modify or delete any system apps without a modified kernel.

Backup your applications via titanium backup , do full wipe then restore your data using the same app
Install Titanium Backup. Go to Copy/Restore tab, tap on Youtube app and select "Unfreeze".
Yeah, I found it frozen one time. You can unfreeze with titanium backup.

If youtube.apk came with rom, then copy it to pc, then delete it from system/app then again push the copied youtube.apk to system/app, u can also install it as normal apk.
Youtube should appear in launcher.
If u installed it from market, then uninstall the app or the update first.
Hey everyone...
ive already tried to get some quick help already but i really need my phone tonight LOL.
iam running cm9 rom with the latest cm9 stable kernal, now i wanted to flash the hydrocore kernal to see if battery would improve, but it seemed fine but then choppy afew hours later so i changed back to cm9 kernal. Anyway after it rebooted it stayed on the paranoid android bootscreen! where you see the picture loading. i then tried to wipe the cache and dalvik and its still stuck. someone mentioned to do a wipe but i was unsure if he meant to a full wipe? as ive not wiped the factory reset, just the two caches! ive also flashed both kernals back and forth and im still stuck.
Its a simple issue iam sure but could someone help me, im unsure if i should do a full wipe including factory reset or just flash the cm9 rom again. if so can i have instructions step by step...
thank you.
islandmixed, you are on a safe kernel so there is no harm in performing a wipe data/factory reset.

Oh I got it now. But why would any stock apps install? If the new rom will have its own stock apps. I didn't even know TB backed up stock apps. That makes it confusing to me

You know when I wiped data would it have wiped off the gapps? I'm sure I had more rom apps with this....hmmmm
Sent from my GT-N7000 using XDA
wipe data is totally wiping what's in your phone.. including what's inside the system/apps, build props and framework...
you may need to flash back your g.apps if you want to get all of them and selectively selecting which to install back(rather than just restoring it from TB)
TB does not restore all what you have made a backup to.

Okay then I guess the factory reset only deleted user apps then. I was told it deletes system apps which is why I thought it deleted gapps.

I was uninstalling stock system apps but I realized that I couldn't install any apps! I thought that I deleted a necessary app but I don't know which is. Could you provide it? Can I install it by flashing a cwm zip?

When you don't know what you're doing, things like that could happen. Flash the rom again, with all system apps, don't delete them before flash the rom.
I don't want to flash the Rom again! Which apps are involved in installing? I will restore only these

Man, flash the rom again. You don't lose anything, neither apps or data.
Blah blah I found the app and restored it no flash needed. thanks anyway..

It's the DefaultContainerService. I accidentally deleted it.
There are plenty of lists out there that tell you what apps are safe to remove and which are not. A simple google search of "s3 mini safe apps to remove" and there are numerous website which have lists of what is safe and what is not, even if its not for your specific device, it can be useful as all android phones are very similar.
Hello people! I am an S3 mini owner for the last one and a half year. I have installed CM 11 about 3 months ago and my phone is better than ever. I usually install almost all the daily releases. I 've also installed the latest gapps. The only problem that I am facing lately is that some of the applications cannot be updated. The error message says that there is not enough free space in my device. I have almost 1,5 gb of free space, so I don't think that this is really the problem. Even if I uninstall these apps and I try to install them again, I also face the same error, that there is not enough free space in my device. This hapens with 9 apps. All the rest are updating normally. Do you have any idea what could I do with my problerm? Thanks in advance!
It happened to me once with titanium backup, so I deleted com.kermidas.TitaniumBackup-1.odex from data/app, using root explorer & voila, problem solved

Thank you very much for the response, mauan. I followed your instructions, but the problem remains. I also tried to uninstal Titanium Backup, but neither this prooved to be a solution to my problem... Any other idea?

I would also like to say that the problem with these apps is really strange. Even if I uninstal one of them and then try to reinstall it, either from Google play store or installing the apk that I have already downloaded manually, the problem remains the same: not enough space. The only way to use this app again is restoring a nandroid backup that includes it. Meanwhile, I can install other apps normally, even if they need much more free space.
This problem has started being annoying to me, but I would like to avoid hard reset and setting up the phone from the scratch... Ouf........

Titanium backup was an example for what you need to do with apps that said "no free space". Are you using gapps 4.4.4 or 4.4.3? I can't think clearly at this late hours

I had the exact same problem, but on stock ROM. What I did was I made a nandroid backup, wiped /system , /data and /cache and then restored my backup. When the phone booted up everything was working again and I could update or install new apps without the "no space" message

Hello, people! Sadly, the problem still remains. The most usual possible solution I have read is deleting the .apk file from data/apps folder, but it didn't work to me... Any other idea...?
Sent from my GT-I8190 using XDA Free mobile app
Oups! I just understood that I was doing something wrong! I was deleting the .apk filr, not the .odex one. The problem is that I cannot find any .odex files in the data/app/ directory. Does it have anything to do with deodexed rom...? Could I find the .odex files somewhere else? My phone is running on CM 11 20140710 at the momment..
