Guys in the nooby guide in the ICS root section, it says in the instructions flash the .bin file.
Does that mean I only flash the .bin file and not the .fls file?? Last time I done this it put 2.3.4 in my phone!
thanks in advance

If you want an ICS ROM, or JB, or higher, you only need to flash the .bin file. If you want a v20/GB ROM, you should flash the v20 baseband as well

Ok Thanks. I've tried pretty much everything, even putting the phone onto the official LG upgrader, the upgrader loses communication while its doing the upgrade, and smartflash comes up with errors and stops. Pretty much stagnant now dont know what to do.
any ideas??
P.S. my phone is dead from yesterday as i tried to stick a new rom in. not working at all!

Try to flash Bin & Cp files from Preinstallation for IZS ROM (SmartFlash) HERE : http://huexxxtuff.blogspot.com.es/2013/01/izs-rom-links.html
Make shure to reinstall drivers before.
Then after this flash let it complete boot and then try to flash what you wanted.
Some times PCs are assholes.....and not just the phones....
As for rooting ics, just use http://www.unlockroot.com/ - (with usb debugging on)
Hope it helps, cheers!

Can anyone teach me how to patch .bin files for flashing with smartflashtool ? Snegovik had succeeded in patching the recovery partition with cwm recovery , but i'm very noob and don't understand anything . There sure is a way to patch those .bin files , if anyone knows how to do it , PLEASE share !
You need Ubuntu or another linux distribution and this link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=22329293&postcount=106
Maybe this for extracting kdz files into bin/fls files:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=22329293&postcount=106
I already know how to extract the kdz. What I want to do is get the cwm recovery inside the .bin file before flashing into the phone . Or even pushing the su binaries into the .bin file. Thanks for your answer though

The first link that nooby posted has the instructions to place cwm inside the bin file.
Trolling in the deep
Did you read my post at all? In the first link you ll find all the commands needed to put cwm inside the bin file. I think you cant add superuser, but I may be wrong...
And you need Ubuntu or another linux to do it.
Thanks ! Sorry for not reading properly

use search....there is a thread out there by the great Paulobrien for the same.....you can try the other CWM methods which are comparatively easy....
You can make cwm file using LGExtract
Or try this.
And there are some stock roms ready for cwm.
V20Q flashable zip
V20R
V20C
Rebuild of V20Q
You can find basebands for flashing via smartflash in temasek`s folder
Hope it helps...

How to pick the best baseband for my phone if ever i flashed to V20Q

Really good question - ask 10 people and you will get 15 different answers...
I think there are many threads in this forum about basebands, and there are many different opinions.
So you have to find out by yourself , but the baseband coming with the stock V20Q is a good starting point.
Just make sure that RIL and baseband fit together

I suggest you do as follow:
1、Extract kdz with LGExtract
2、If you got ext3_system.img and ext3_fastboot.img, flash imgs with cwm,
if you got bin, flash bin with SmartFlash.
Also you can flash kdz with this method, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1264289, I suggest you replace recovery.img with cwm so that you can root the new rom easily.

You CAN or CANT access download mode ? If you can, simply flash a stock ROM via ODIN.

Yes I can, I tried to downgrade to GB but it failed as well :/
I don't really clearly understood your issue.
But if you want to flash a Stock ICS Rom, start ODIN PC, start your SGNote in download mode (button volume down + home + power), then connect your SGNote to your PC and flash via ODIN PC.
If you don't know exactly how to use ODIN PC, check tutos on the forum.

When you say "it failed" you are going to have to be more specific. Please give us an error message. Did you get a NAND write start and factoryfs.img and it just freeze after that in Odin?

Reinstall your ADB/USB drivers, make sure you're using USB2.0 port - for me USB3.0 always results in failed flash, ultimately switch USB ports.

The file you download from dr. Ketan is a .rar file, unzip it once and you get a .tar file. Flash that file with Odin in pda section. So don`t unzip the .tar file again.

The problem was the ROM itself
I flashed a new 4.0.3 and it worked perfectly
Thanks a lot.

To start with - you need root to flash this custom ROM, so unrooting your device was a mistake, you have to root it again.
Now, i've never flashed Criskelo's ROM, but from what i've read in the thread, you need to root your device, flash Chainfire's ICS repack via mobile odin, and then flash criskelo rom via CWM. Do not unpack the .zip file, you need to point CWM to that file.

When you boot into recovery, is it CWM recovery?
If you are talking about not seeing the CWM app, don't worry about that.

First extract bin and fls files, then only flash the smaller file of those two. It's around 8MB It's the .fls file.
