[Q] Help: How to Revert to Stock WP6.5?

Hey guys,
I've searched everywhere but there's no definitive guide to revert to stock from WP7. Pretty much, I tried out WP7 on my dad's HD2, but he didn't like it. So I need to revert it, but there's so much stuff to know that it all gets pretty intimidating.
Anyways,
HTC HD2 w/ Windows Phone 7 (Using aMAGLDR V1.12 - Build: Jan 12 2001, 21:09:22 - by Cotulla 2011 [this ONLY, no other mods present])
Trying to convert back to Windows Phone 6.5
Using Windows XP
Have d/led Windows Active Sync but it won't connect to the PC even when the USB is plugged in. (I'm guessing this is the reason why I can't revert to stock, it won't even connect to the PC)
I've also d/led the latest stock RUU_Leo_1_5_TMOUS_3.14.531.1_Radio_Signed_15.42.50.11U_2.15.50.14_2_Ship from the forums.
It looks like I have all the resources but my PC won't even recognize the phone being connected to the computer. Must I do anything else besides attempting to flash the stock ROM?

It might be you don't have the drivers installed that are needed, your antivirus could be preventing a connection, I had a similar problem where it seemed that it didn't recognize my phone uninstalled sync when into my bootloader it didn't seem to recognize my phone tasked 29 and it went through without a problem

PLEASE someone help me out, this is getting soo frustrating, I switched to my laptop running Vista and it still won't recognize it.
I d/led Windows Mobile Device Center and it STILL won't work.
Please anyone.

Enter the bootloader screen then plug phone in and wait for it to say USB at the bottom then flash the stock rom from t-mobile

actually im having the same issue as of today

i was able to flash winmo through sd card but 10 different pcs wont see this phone now, from win xp to vista, win 7, mac !
phone works fine in winmo but cant connect, obviously cant flash hspl3 so im stuck on stock winmo, with both spls 2.8 and 2.10 and none of them makes a different
i'll bookmark this and keep following up and if i figure it out i'll update

I have same problem i install 2.2 android on my HTC hd2 (t-mobile) and now i can't sync my phone with computer to install stock LEO as well as there is no option on the 2.2 froyo for sd card if any one know how to get back to stock windows 6.5 let me know

Invalid IMEI???
So I went to this link because I want to flash my HD2 back to WM6.5 stock. When I enter the IMEI it tells me that it is invalid. Is there a way to get the stock rom from some other site?
I have a HTC HD2 T-Mobile LEO 1024. Model HTC Desire A8181.

Yes I do I have a Model HTC Desire A8181. It still says HTC HD2, but it says Desire on the phone data screen.

lol, and teh tmo website wont accept your imei, odd that. get the rom from HERE instead.

Will SW upgrade lock my unlocked HD2 to T-Mobile??

It has SOFTWARE: OS :5.2.21889 (21889.5.0.87), Manila version:2.5.20121412.1
ROM Version :2.10.531.1 (82076) WWE
I am planning to upgrade the ROM to 3.14.531.1.
I read at forum that Post upgrade, my HD2 will default to factory settings. Does it mean that my phone will again be locked to T-mobile?
Pl confirm asap as I don't want a locked phone

Ok dude this makes a lot of sense, but which one should I download? Are those version numbers or radio IDs? I don't want to brick my HD2.

those are rom version numbers. go for either 2.10.0 (not .1) or 2.13, or either of the 3.14

dude u have 2 download zune center if u got the wp7 rom thats how u sync the phone

Yes there is a way go to htcpedia.com register with them make your ocunt..and download htc hd2 stuck rom..then put your phone and bootlouder mode..and put the stuck rom you just download..makesure your phone is conecte it at least 50 % of batery no sim car no sd car.

[Q] Downgrade Nodo

i have htc HD7 nodo and it got locked. I would like to go back to pre nodo so that i can unlock my phone again. Can anyone help me with this?

Thanks, i have successfully gone back to 7004 firmware. But now when i try to use chevron unlock i am getting an error " Sorry, I'm having trouble communicating with the phone. Please make sure it is connected . and zune is started.What might be the problem? Im using zune 4.7

I've had that issue a few times myself. IIRC, i had to piss about with the Hosts file. If you google the error you should find some fixes.
I think my phone had to be linked to Zune too (i.e. not a guest device)

Premango backup disappeared? how? and what to do now?

I made a backup back when I switched to Mango just like I was suppose to do. I took the file and moved it to my external HD. I went to restore it yesterday and moved the file back to the 'WIndows phone update' folder. I started zune and it earesed the file. I now have no backup, what happened and what should I do now?

you need to open zune and connect your phone, then move the file back.

You should always "copy", not "move", when doing delicate operations like this. Then once it copies successfully and you don't run into issues, you can safely delete the old files.
If you don't have a backup, you'll just have to download a ROM for your phone/carrier and start from scratch.

I suggest running an undelete utility on the external drive. It may not be too late to recover the folder.

Well I am 7712 and my phone is locked. I want to be able to get my phone to a state where it will receive official updates from zune. Where should I go from here?
If I update to Mango RTM will I be able to receive official zune updates?

Microsoft had stated that you would need nodo to go to mango, yet the Devs managed to get the Mango RTM installed without any problems.
Regardless of whether you will be able to update official or not the Devs will come out if something or the other.
Also Mango RTM runs flawlessly and I just love it. since its just released to the manufactures will have to wait and see if we can update or not via zune although I feel we should be able to.

I am going to take your advice. But I would like yo be unlocked. Currently I am at 7712 and locked. How would I get to 7720 RTM and be unlocked? I saw that in the link you posted if you are currently unlocked you can stay unlocked when going to 7720 but you have to be previously unlocked. So what ROM should I flash to in order to unlock my phone? And then move along to 7720?

Never used the setting but I know HTC phones have a unique reset phone in settings?

Try doing a hard rest on phone. Hold down both vol rockers along with power buttom. once you get to grey screen with blue text select option to return phone back to stock... not sure if this will help or not, just trying to help

[Q] Cant flash stock, phone stuck in ruu....please help!

Hello, im having issues with my HD7. I just recieved a replacement phone from t-mobile and it was really buggy and freezing so i decided to try to reflash the stock firmware. I have tried both versions that are available for the HD7 for T-Mobile and the phone goes through the process in ruu but hangs at 11%. Doesnt go any further and eventually times out with an error 262. I have also tried to flash with rspl but no luck as well. I can not wipe the phone or do anything on it as it is stuck in bootloader. Can anyone please help me to install the stock firmware back to my HD7......any help would be greatly appreciated

Did you hook it up with zune first to make sue all the drivers were installed prorperly?

Thanks for your quick reply tfn, but unfortunately i do have the current drivers installed on my pc. The really strange thing i just found out is that it will let me flash a non stock rom, like dft's mango but will not allow me to go past 11% on the stock rom. I dont know, im on tmobile's prepaid and this phone has a warranty, i just hate that i cant get this new "refurb" to work that i just got in from t-mobile. It frustrates me so much, cuz i loved wp7 on my HD2 but im having nothing but bad luck with these HD7's :'(

HD7 o2 mango

Has anyone got the factory o2 mango rom for the HTC hd7? Does it enable internet sharing as i have the rtm version and does not have it. If the stock o2 rom has internet sharing is anyone able to upload and give manuals on how to flash back to o2

The latest o2 Mango ROM can be found HERE
Flashed it myself a few days back and my phones been MUCH more stable, with a much better battery life and signal. I too was on unbranded Mango RTM before that.
I simply flashed that ROM straight away (download, unrar, Put phone in Bootloader, connect cable, run ROMUpdateUtility). No need to do anything else (R/HSPL, etc). Easy.
I haven't tested internet sharing but i'd advise you to flash that ROM anyway as like i said it's been a hell of a lot more stable and the Radio that's with it has massively improved my Signal and Battery life compared to whatever i was using with the Mango RTM.

You should get the update anyway if you are on RTM. If you use the above method you will wipe your device.
My wife had the RTM and she go a Firmware update pushed to her which has made her phone work flawlessly. All the HTC apps now work etc. Mine on the other hand is still waiting.....

It does not work, because the mango version of the registry policy in htc.
We can not edit it, access restrictions!
