ALL Nexus 4 owners should get a free bumper

I think since now Google decided to include a free bumper with every N4 purchase, we who bought our devices before the promotion should also get one free bumper!! It's only fair, given all the trouble we all had to do in order to get one, if at all!!
I'll take a white one, please!! I want a zebra N4

And everyone that bought the iPhone 4 for $200 when it came out should get reimbursed.... Come on man why so greedy?

And every person that just got a free bumper case with their new device will be complaining 2 months from now that they just got their phone and Google is getting ready to release a new phone. Now they are stuck with this old technology. Its just not fair.

In Spain they haven't included the free bumper... Anyway, I think that would be better reducing its price than giving it for free.

i bought mine off amazon...slightly used for just over $5...totally worth it...and it looks nice

You ordered your phone and you got stiffed for a bumper or w/e...that sucks as does life. But, look on the good side....you receive a premium phone (imho) for 400 bucks, if only they had Apple or Samsung marketing wits....

The bumper's only about twenty bucks, if you really want it, just suck it up and buy yourself one. Plus, if you've had the phone for a month you'd probably already have a case already. If the 20 + tax + shipping or w/e is too much, just go for the Poetic bumper, it really is amazing.

Using Nexus4 stock and unrooted, Kii keyboarding it up!

Sprint tech dicking me around

Brought my phone in for the dreaded purple hue in low light camera situations. Left it there and went to do some errands while they inspected it. Long story short I go back and he claims that corrosion in the headphone jack caused it. Then says he fixed it by blowing air in there and factory resetting it (I had run the ruu prior to bringing it in.) I grab the phone and go into camera and hold my hand up to the lens and bam still there. He then says "oh. That was the problem with the camera?" To which I responded with yes. And confirms that his claim of supposed corrosion is not the cause.
My question is this: did this tech flag the phone as internally damaged on my account and now I'm f'd and have to pay deductible for an obvious warranty issue or should I definitely take it to a different store?

He could have flagged it but the flag is only good for 30 days if he did flag it. The system they use is called eticket. Without know the ticket number it would be very difficult for us to look past 30 days. So if you want it replaced them have the same store do it since they know what they did. If you don't want to deal with their dumbasses again then wait 30 days and go to another store. If you are still having issues then don't go to corporate stores. From my experience your chances of getting a complete **** are a lot higher at corporate locations.

He could not have used eticket if it had corrosion. If it had corrosion, he would have told you to go through asurion because of water damage. He probably didn't even put a ticket through. Call CS and see if there's any notes.

Went to a different store today after work. Replaced phone. Same issue on new one so they are ordering another. Crossing fingers that one is good. They told me its software. Yeah OK.

I've gone through 7 HTC ones. And every single one of them had the camera blue/purple tent during low light situations. I just deal with it. I dont think I've ever seen a one not give that effect..

The red display model at my local store did not have this problem. It was .2 version of software though.

Haha interesting. I have the red model but haven't tested out the cam yet. Just traded it in the other day so it would match the HTC flip cover. I don't have the purple/blue effect anymore wow this is the first I've seen

Dang, you're One unlucky person. Pun intended. In all seriousness the tint on my HTC One is only around the edges. When it is practically pitch black it will cover the whole screen. So, there re some good ones out there.

How did you go about trading it in?

When the red one came out HTC championship website was giving them away for people that wanted to trade in their current phone. My coworker had a gs3. They gave full trade value. She didn't want the red one but got it for me. I gave her my black One.

My first One didn't have the tint, but something got behind the lens and ruined every picture. It took Sprint 6 hours to determine that it in fact wasn't a scratch on the lens. My refurbished One has the tint but I don't really give a ****. Low light pictures on a smartphone typically ain't gonna be good anyway.

Haha Naw but yeah mine has that bloody low light issue but I made my peace ...if I can put up with the first evo camera ,I can put up with this anyday ..so ..bring it on HTC ..BRINGITON!!!

Samsung store at Best Buy

Went into our local Best Buy on Saturday, and was surprised to see a large Samsung area carved out in the front of the store. Nice, clean white display and tables. It was the same size as that stores entire Mobile Phone dept, so pretty good sized. They had all the latest and greatest, of course, and very knowledgeable folks working there. They said they were there full time now. Pretty cool to see. My first hands on with a Gear. I can see it's utility, but doubt I'll get one.
Anyone else have one in their BB stores?

For about a year. My store also has a Google rep for the Google section. A Windows store with Microsoft employees and of course the Apple section. With more to come next year.

Went to Monroe, NY store. They have the Samsung area as well. Pretty nice. Had the Samsung watch in various colors but all dummy. None were real watches.

One is in San Diego Ca. And the lady there was somewhat knowledgeable but had no idea what "Kit Kat" 4.4 was . But she did update my S4 to 4.3 since the OTA never came to my phone .

The lady working the Samsung area at our BB also offered to update/check my S4. I refused since I'm rooted and it was a bit of a battle to get 4.3 installed and solid on my phone.

Mine was rooted also but at the same time I was so excited about the update that I jumped to gun. I tried to find if I needed to take any steps before receiving the update but couldn't find any information. Long story short it took with no problem root was gone but I just rerooted and it was good. The update actually fixed my battery life tremendously. Took 15 min via usb.

We have a Samsung at all the Best Buys here in Wichita, KS. They are really the only reason I ended up going with the S4.

Almost every Best Buy should have a Samsung Experience Store inside now, with the exception of a very few. The only stores I am aware of without them are the small format stores. Even the Best Buy Mobile stores have a small Samsung vignette now.

dont go to best buy mobile they spent almost 45 minutes trying to get my note 2 to work with the store demo galaxy gear, i guess they hire any ole body at those stores

Seems weird that you would let them try and pair a non compatible device for that long. Assuming you weren't rooted and using a compatibility work around.

I have a white note 3 and have been liking the look of the black one but I'm not sure if I can which to a black one while on the program. When I say switch I mean like swap phone with someone.

Employee returned phone

I received my LG phone back but it's locked and the disgruntled employee smashed the screen. I'm an note3 owner so I'm clueless to the LG Android platform. What are my best options here? I'm considering replacing the screen myself as I've done before on phones but to get into the phone and everything is not an option I assume.

Wow! What happened? Why did the screen get smashed? I would freaking say something.... you shouldn't have to fix it.
If need be, you can pop the back cover off with a guitar pick, or similar. Its just like a Samsung once you get inside. Remove the battery, remove the rear housing, remove the motherboard, vibrator, antennae, etc.

Yeah I've replaced screens before. Suggestions on cheapest place to order one? Local place wants 160 bucks to replace it lol

They're is a thread in LG G2 general named permanent screen damage. there is a link to a website in there where the screens are about a $100. Would throw you a link but I am driving.

Untold? I fired the person for theft of fuel. Some cannot be trusted with a monitored fuel card I guess. Especially when the card is tied to a certain vehicle and they have to use a unique pin at the pump. My 160 out of pocket to repair a phone is chump change when it's a few hundred dollars of fuel

Maybe it"s a factor to some, but idc if it's 2 dollars or 2000, cant stand a thief. I can understand the not bothering part as well, if you ever recover the price it will have cost you even more. Some former employee's of mine thought being the boss makes you rich so you wont notice, both are usually idiotic ideas. Why they think i owe them but they owe me nothing is beyond me.

I was thinking the same exact thing - except that it was a disgruntled Verizon employee who was the culprit.

Never put it past VZW to send out a warranty replacement with issues lol
Once I get this fixed I may use an upgrade from another line to use the g2 as a spare for myself. Are they locked bootloader like my note 3?

i believe so, but there's a loki exploit or something..i forget, i haven't rooted or done any of this since september lol

I recently rooted mine, ran a few roms but made the mistake of wiping data on my stock recovery and soft bricked. Was able to go all the way back to 4.2.2. Then 2 updates later here I am lol.
Rooting and fixing are very simple at this stage.

Update: screen is fixed... I'm going to try to replace through Verizon now. Lol. I picked up a razr HD for cheap to use as a spare. Towelroot and bl unlocked on cm11. Not touching the g2 now.
