Hi,
I saw somewhere on the forum that I could go back to locked status on my bootloader (not relocked). I lost the link though (or I may have been reading wrong, who knows).
Anyway, is there a way to go back to LOCKED status and not relocked status?
If so, how?
I unlocked my HTC ONE using htcdev, but I need to return the phone because the shop gave me the wrong country version which has no warranty here.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you.

Well if you`re stil on 4.1.2. or still have the 1.44.000 Hboot on 4.2.2 you can go to revone and lock the device quite easily, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2314582.

I picked the HTC One up from AT&T a few days ago, today I unlocked the bootloader and want to go back to the locked bootlader. Anyways I went back to the locked and now my device says TAMPERED*. How do I get rid of this?
Also, My device is recognized as a CWS_001
I think its if you have a custom kernel.

You can't, at least not yet.
With S-On, the One will say TAMPERED when you unlock the bootloader and if I remember correct when you re-lock it, it'll say RE-LOCKED.
It's not something to worry about, it is a measure on HTCs end for warranty issues I presume.

Wow, this could be a ****ing HUGE determining factor for people buying this phone.
I don't get it... Why are people so surprised? Besides, you know the risk of unlocking...

If you actually read what you agreed to when you unlocked the bootloader, you would have already known that re-locking the bootloader doesn't restore warranty or erase the evidence that you had unlocked it.

Wouldn't it say
**TAMPERED**
RE-LOCKED
I would be surprised if they removed the tampered warning just by relocking.

Following posts around here seem to say that to be true. Your last sentence seems to contradict the above though?

I haven't (yet) unlocked my One, I was actually asking if anyone had relocked their device and could confirm that the "**TAMPERED**" goes away.
It makes no sense for HTC to do this, because someone could really mess up the ROM contents and then relock the device.

Oh, you misread my post then.
It will still say TAMPERED. But, in addition too, it will say RELOCKED. I also recall reading past HTC devices where they were able to get the TAMPERED title to go away, but it would still say RELOCKED, so the end result is the same.
Once the bootloader is unlocked, there is no way to go back to 100% factory, yet, until there is away to get S-off.
Viewing the XDA article though, unlocking/rooting your device won't void your warranty, and you can get a stock rom back on your device if you end up screwing something up.

Yes, HTC is pretty good about repairing their hardware, unless they can confirm that what the user did was directly responsible for the failure. I haven't unlocked mine yet because I'm pretty satisfied with the stock ROM. I'm hoping for an update to get rid of the "menu button" issue though...
This is the first HTC phone I haven't unlocked and flashed. Yet.
It sua tempered when there's an unsigned kernel/recovery still on the phone... If you flash stock recovery/kernel and relock then the tampered will go away.
But s-off is what we need to rewrite those flags

I'm in a similar dilemma. This guide will unroot your device and return to factory default, however the bootloader will say "relocked" and just locked, I'm looking to fix that before I send my phone back as well for a camera issue.

Does it actually lock the bootloader or does it just make the hboot screen say 'LOCKED'?
Also, did you manage to get it to say S-ON again?
What's the procedure?
I currently have Unlocked, but removed the tampered label - just that i would like to know for future reference..
From the second post of the thread I linked:
revone -l
fastboot oem writesecureflag 3
That's lock and S-ON
Hey Guys,
So I am need of a bit of help and guidance. I currently have a HTC One 32Gb Silver from T-Mobile (US). I need to return my phone for warranty exchange but so far I have put several different roms, TWRP recovery, perm root, and obv unlocked bootloader. I need to return everything to how it was out of the box. I made a backup of my stock rom way back in May after I unlocked the bootloader. I know generally people would use an RUU but I do not think there is one for T-Mobile US. So I just need some guidance on how to put back factory recovery, and then relock bootloader without T-Mobile it was ever unlocked. I believe this can be achieved thru S-OFF then S-On back on again after you fix the "re-locked" and "tampered". If someone can walk me through how to properly do this and the files I would need I give you huge gratitude.

I can't walk you through the steps, but you'll find more assistance in the T-Mobile HTC One forum. The official T-Mobile RUU is actually available now and can be found here:

Gain Soff
Turn off the tamper stuff
Flash RUU
Everything will appear stock
once the new revone comes out you can go back to s-on and it really is all stock

Look at second post and follow his instructions...worked like a charm S-OFF and put back to S-ON is available now
I've read that it was only possible with S-off devices, and that you can't do it anymore with stock android 4.2.2. Is there another way to do it?
I haven't unlocked bootloader, rooted and loaded a custom ROM because I'm afraid that in case I need to send it back with warranty(I already had to do it twice), they won't repair/change it for free.
Also, are there any other possible ways of detecting the phone has been unlocked? Perhaps some tips on how to get started? I've never rooted such an expensive phone.

The only way to get a Locked status after unlocking is if you are s-off. The only way (currently) you'd be able to s-off is if you're bootloader is still v1.44. If you've taken any OTAs and your bootloader has been updated, then you won't be able to use the current s-off techniques, so the only way to unlock would be through htcdev.com, and relocking would give you a Relocked status.

Damn I've checked and my bootloader is showing v1.54. A RELOCKED status would void my warranty, am I right?

Not strictly true, you can get s-off with a paid javacard service like fonefunshop. I did this and can now use revone to regain locked status (even on 1.54).
There is also another method detailed here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2475914
but I have not used this personally (yet). All require s-off
This is true.. I was keeping it free and haven't looked at the link you have there
Hi everyone, I have an Htc One (M7) still locked, original, not touched yet.
I want to unlock now, but I now I'll lose warranty, but I'm asking this:
If I unlock, ok I'll lose warranty (Is there any way to not lose?), but can I delete the message in bootloader relocked?
Thanks!

yes, you can revert to stock firmware through an RUU to claim warranty. U can remove the 'TAMPERED' flag and change 'RELOCKED to LOCKED'.
In short, u can revert to the EXACT same state ur phone came in.
BTW, u need S-OFF to revert ur phone 2 claim warranty
So now I unlocked my Htc, flashed recovery and I'm using a custom rom/kernel. Obviously I read Unlocked and Tampered...can I change this with Locked staying still with custom rom/kernel?

You need S-OFF to change back to LOCKED (not RE-LOCKED) and to remove the TAMPERED banner.
I'll recommend you to stay UNLOCKED as long as you will use a custom rom.
Ok thanks.
Other thing: is it possible dual boot like a sense rom and a miui/aosp?
