Why not root your device? Installing root takes 30seconds and so does removing it again.
You will only benefit from it.

You should try next browser. It's a brilliant app!

Opera browser is the best for me I've tried both of them and why don't you give a try to both browsers and then decide which one suits you

don't you have to unlock the bootloader to root?
and by doing so, you lose bravia and other features?

Boat browser.

Opera 15 is great. But also amazing lightweight Naked Browser.

Opera Mobile Classic :good:

AOSP browser best of the best. Second place - Boat Browser. Third - Dolphine, but this browser have only fixed text size, it's no fine. Boat and AOSP have slider for text size.

I prefer dolphin if you have only these two candidates.

Boat Browser

I thank you for the answers but are still undecided and now also entered the boat browser, I only care that its low battery consumption and less heat face of chrome then the rest of the functions do not care ...

naked browser for me.
Ugly Ui but it works a treat

not if some apps wont work on a rooted device

Indeed. Many broadcasters won't let you stream their video on a rooted device. In fact, I'd suggest it's most if not all.

[Q] Why chrome is laggy on note?

Hey guys I just got my note, and I always wanted to use chrome, but now that Im ussing it I found it so laggy, its not as smooth as the default browser or Ics browser plus for example. I mean its damn fast but the scroll is laggy, but Ill stick to it, its managament tabs is amazing
Any ideas?
Maybe the resulution..
Gesendet von meinem GT-N7000 mit Tapatalk 2
Yes it does seem a little less responsive in scrolling (compared to stock ICS browser & Opera at least) but that could be why it's still in beta.
I noticed that it also has problems with text size. some places have increased font size for no reason!!
its also quite glitchy with flash video's.
Chrome for android doesn't support flash so I don't think you will be able to watch any flash videos with it.

I know and I dont care really I use both chrome and stock. If i want a full desktop experience Ill go for the stock, whereas if I need fastness chrome is for me.
Hope the laggy scroll on chrome will be solved in some point
Still apparent on my note and i just updated today. The lag is the only thing that's keeping me away from it
For me its working great.... only find the lag now and then while inputting some text fields but loving it any way

Unpredictable performance?

Sometimes my phone is very smooth, but every now and then it will suddenly act like a single core phone, this is particularly noticeable if I play a game, it will be smooth usually but when this happens it lags like hell, home stutters and multitasking problems are also present. I've tried everything, deleted system/bin/thermald and overheat control apk, lowered the go max speed load of the CPU, increased readahead size, changed to deadline scheduler... The list goes on! I'm on the latest JB firmware and have a locked BL, any roms that don't have these random lag spikes? Or any other fix? I'll even revert to ICS if its more stable, I did this on my LG before

how the hell is that possible?!!!!!!
i have the same issue, especially on JB
everytime i turn the phone on, i just HOPE to be the PERFORMANCE time!!!
sometimes it is SMOOTH, sometimes it lagges, especially in games
you know, having Performance governor is not a real solution, it will drain battery the worst way possible, we have to know the reason, since i've done whatever you said as well,EVERYTHING, and yes, when i put in performance mode, it's ok..
any idea about the culprit?

EGG ZAKT LY!!!
when i was on ICS, the games were amazing, no lag whatsoever to call ISSUE, but unfortunately, the lag was INSIDE OF OS, even the phonebook, dialer, messaging, all of the system apps, started slowly, but the gaming performance was awesome, on the other hand, in JB, the whole UI and OS is just smooth and beautiful, but games are awful
BTW, how do you modify GPU governor? i thought we could only change CPU
Well its settled, I'm moving to ICS to compare. Is there any ICS ROM where I can avoid using flashtool? Anyway about the GPU gov, use trickster mod kernel settings

the difference is quite HUGE, at the very moment of entering the game, it's total new world...
so, in this case, in which your preferred gaming console is your phone, go for ICS, the UI lags a bit, and i repeat, A BIT, but gaming is brilliant, just like it doubles the graphic power, i've tested NFS MW on both platform, ICS EASILY outperforms JB
hope you'll have good time there, in ICS

I'm not so familiar with initial releases, since i've bought TX recently, when JB was out...
you know, the main problem with me is that i'm always a pure-stock fan, i won't change launcher, walkman, gallery and these basic things, but if you do, as you say, it would help the hickup
are locked or unlocked? if you are unlocked, i can provide you with the best STOCK-BASED kernel for ICS, in which the only midification is having CWM onboard, so that you can flash SU easily to have root
at your service, anyway

Firefox draining battery?

Hi!
I'm recently using the Firefox browser because of very good performance and speed.
But I want to ask if I'm correct that it's draining the battery more than dolphin and stock browser? I think I noticed it but I'm not 100% sure so a feedback of other users would be nice

Are there roms that are focused on battery?

I don't get as much battery life on my nexus as I did on my htc m8, I was wondering if there are roms that focus on battery life

no. there are kernels that might help, but battery life is all determined by your use, your apps, your setup, and the quality of your phone/data signal.

+1 only I use Lean kernel. 5-6 hours SOT. Had to nix chrome for AOSP browser to get those numbers though.
To the OP, if you're using the Facebook app, consider ditching that and using mobile. Huge battery hog.

i notice it in chrome with websites like news.google.com and xda forums.
there are browsers that are faster that can aid in this issue.
My belief is that it is a ram assignment issue. I think the phone, or apps, limit the amount of ram each app gets. but i could be wrong.

I decided to try an alternate browser softer becoming frustrated with the same issue. In researching it, I ran into a lengthy discussion of the security and trustworthiness of alternative browsers and the developers.
Anyhow, as someone who has a history of rooting and flashing custom roms, I'm prepared to make that leap of faith in the case of an experienced XDA dev. But that's a choice for you to make.
There are a few that have been made available that are based on the same original CAF coding which was specifically written to optimize performance on snapdragon based devices (like the OP3 and OP3T). I have tried one side by side with chrome and found it to be consistently faster to load pages. Part of this improvement is that it has built in ad blocking.
Anyhow, I am now using an alternative CAF based browser as my default and am very happy..

I'm also experiencing this on Lineage OS, odly enough I didn't have this scrolling lagging in earlier builds or before last accidental clean flash. I just thought it was caused by going from F2FS to EXT4 as it kinda started when I did that conversion. But that's probably just a coincidence.

However, it isn't the rom that makes the difference. its the browser. Use yubrowser from the app store first to see if that helps.
As for apps, you won't find any rom different except maybe stock vs not.
I've noticed this too but a reboot is usually sufficient to get it to go away for me. Also noticed improved scrolling speeds on SultanXda's CM13 Rom, however I prefer to run stock myself.
