Hey with TiBu is it possible to back up your home screen(s)? Would bit be like the System UI or Tebuchet (for PACma)?

There should be an option within the launcher to back it up. Unless your using the stock launcher.

But to answer your question, yes...To Backup: Tap the Backup/Restore Tab, find your launcher, select backup. To Restore: Repete that process, only select restore to restore the settings. Trebuchet is the stock launcher in most custom roms. Best to just restore app data and hope it works, not app+app data -- especially on PAC or PA. That's one of the few system apps I'd even suggest backing up and restoring data for.

Hi!
I recently flashed my IncS with Ehab's latest ROM v1.2a including Sense 3.5 (questions goes here, not into thread because I'm new here...). In order to restore my settings and a number of apps I used TitaniumBackup Pro and backupped user apps and most system apps and settings. Restore went smoothly after flashing.
I very much liked the idea to have some shortcuts on the lockscreen - but although I activated them in the settings they won't show up.
Anyone else having this problem? Any ideas how to solve it?
I had that problem when I flashed my first sense 3 ROM. But it was because I deleted something I shouldn't have. So probably you messed something up restoring a system app that doesn't belong in sense 3,5.
I had to reflash the ROM to get it to work

Hi,
I want to change the original ROM to a custom one but would like to avoid to redo all settings afterwards.
So is there a way to backup / restore the custom settings specifically?
Are they transferable between different (stock based) ROM Versions?
Where are the settings stored?
Is there something like the registry under WM?
Thanks in Advance!

I believe titanium pro is the best option you got, backs up you apps + system and app data.

If you are changing roms often and don`t like tools like Titanium for restoring apps and want more options than a classic update.zip (like me), take a look at this.
It`s a collection of some apps available through aroma interface, where you can choose which app is going to be installed. Installer can be run immediately after rom installation, without booting in.
All apps have been collected from Google Play, paid apps comes in their free/trial versions. This package contains 55 apps in a 175 mb file. You are free to modify it and add/remove your desired apps.

The disadventage of this is fact it has to be updated from time to time

Adding/removing apps in this zip is not a hard or time consuming thing, so anyone can have their desired apps. And after installing, you can easily go to Google Play and hit the Update all button.
It`s just my subjective thing to not restore apps with Titanium or similar and using zips (which haven`t give me option of choosing) and installing apps from Google Play. I have made this first for myself and then sharing it here. If someone find it useful, ok, if not, ok again .
Thank you for your support, Rayman.

It's like a kind of script that connects to market some apps, but also with injecting them to rom. Anyway, it's useful.
Hello peoples,
[hope i am in the right section now?]
I love android but hate having to restore widgets over and over again (i flash a lot of different kernels and roms). Up till now i have never found a way to backup and restore the widgets in there former glory (location/size/settings). I use Titanium backup/restore but i found that only a nandroid restore really restores everything (and that is not something i can use when trying out new kernels and roms)
Am i missing something? (an app for instance that will really save position and settings of a widget? Or is it just a know shortcoming in android? I have used almost every launcher around but none of them restore widget (position/size/setting)
Can someone link me to some wisdom?
ps: i understa...alvik VM that hosts the widget position/size?
66 views so far but no response...? Anybody?
Cause no one knows even me but I believe if you copy launcher data using tb and restore it although I didn't try but let me guess that it works

I think this because of the launcher. If you use Apex for example and you make a backup via the app all the settings will be saved on to SD card. If you want to use another launcher with the same widgets you'll need to replace them since the data cant be restored from apex etc. Some apps can import settings from others but this will be said by the app it self.
Like i said, it depens on the launcher. Perhaps to ask one of the developers of the launcher for more information.

Good advice. So i guess i have been obstructing myself by changing launchers on weekly bases.
where is the lockscreen file of a rom?and whats its name?
and the wallpapers of the rom?
hi
been searching for this and didnt find
tried mybackup pro, titanium, never found a way to restore just the widgets
im on LSZ rom 4.1.2
any way to do it ???
thx
Widgets depends upon your launcher. You need to backup your launcher using TB. But you can't restore the TW launcher app as it is system app but try restoring just the data from TB.
Better, use third party Launcher from market set your home screen widgets and backup using TB and when trying other ROMs just restore app and data.

i tried with titanium backup, it restores all the icons, but never the widgets
and i kindda like TW so using it, not other launchers
ok got it ....
ok well, been reading here and there and found that NOVA launcher is quite good and still uses the TW features like the S pen and Air View
and can backup and restore the android screens and widgets, so its a good solution
just upgraded to JON 7 rom and got back everything like it was
thx
