Dpi of the photos you clicked with xperia z/zl/zr - Xperia Z Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello I have just purchased my xperia zr.
It is a wonderful phone but I am not satisfied with the camera quality. When viewing them on the PC they dont appear sharp. So I checked the picture details and surprised to see the pictures has horizontal resolution and vertical resolution of only 72 dpi. Comparing this to my 5 years old nokia n82 photos have 300 dpi. Is it due to this low dpi of photos the qulity is not good. Share yout z/zl/zr photo dpi. You can check it in properties of the photo the details tab in windows.

Where did my 13mp cam go?

Hello, a few days ago I got my xperia T with ics and was surprised by the better dan average camera on this phone, that same day I also received the update to jelly bean (yeuy!) but now I noticed that the max resolution is just 12mp,still not bad, but not a good thing for Sony, as they advertise that's it's a 13mp shooter.
What are you thoughts about it?

set camera to NORMAL instead superior auto and you will be able to shoot 13MP photo...
Thank you!

Every time you turn on HDR you will "lose" that megapixel. Since the "superior auto mode" is capable of using HDR at will, the resolution is reduced as well.

[Q] Sharp images from XZ camera?

Hello all,
We all know that the camera clarity is not so good in XZ... Even my Arc was far better as compared to this.. I tried changing settings alot but couldnt get any solution.. The pictures are not sharp at all.. Can anyone tell me how can we get sharper picture? The images are quite blurry even if u use the "Supererior auto" mode.. So if any one can help me..
Hold the phone still, make sure HDR is off, should come out quite clear and sharp in good lighting conditions.
Do NOT use superior auto. And lower you iso. High iso screws up pics big time.
If you need sharp images shoot in burst mode.

My phone is in for repairs (audio) at the moment, but isn't burst mode max resolution just under 8MP?

Better camera quality

Can someone point me in the right direction. I have An HTC One, an iPhone 5 and the newest addition is my AT&T Galaxy Note 3. The problem I'm having is my HTC One takes the best pictures by far (day or night) I have read up on the GN3 and the camera, I've read that you have to set the camera at 13mp and to get better quality at night the stabilizer needs to be on. But still the pictures at best look 6 out of 10 maybe. Thank you.
The pictures I get of my kids with this device has better picture quality than any device I've owned so far. Even motion shots are unbelievably clear and crisp

If you don't mind me asking, what were your camera settings for that photo? Also how's your photos at night?
I have all those and a iPhone 5s and don't see them having pictures like you make it sound.

Yeah, maybe I have something set wrong. Is there any ideas you could give me?
The default resolution is set at 8mp. Open the camera and go to settings and select the 13mp option. You can also switch to 4k recording in the camcorder settings though for me it limits video to 5 min lengths.

You can try Motiongraph for Xperia by Sony.
It stitches photos to make GIFs, not videos. And aspect ratio is 1:1.
Can't help for videos sadly.
