Phone turns off randomly - HTC Sensation XL

I have S-ON , H-BOOT 1.28.0006 , RADIO 3831.16.00.27_M, Unlocked bootloader.
I think when I was running ICS phone never was shut down randomly but I had the low in call volume so I flashed JB rom. Then after couple of months phone started to turns off randomly, battery percentage was wrong- it said 30% and when I did reboot suddenly 50% or such crazy stuff.
android version is 4.2.2
baseband version is 20.71.30.0833U_3831.16.00.27_M
Kernel version is 3.0.71 RunnyCM-10.1-Linaro [email protected]
One more thing I noticted is that when I do reboots the battery percentage getting low, like 5-6% per reboot.
What can be the problem?
I heard some say it's a S-ON problem, some say it's battery problem. Please guys help here

Please guys help

Anybody? It's really important to me...

Please

Mount some tape in the top of the battery, so the connections is pushed closer. Had same issue on mine, issue was to big gap between battery and terminals

Alright, I'll try that out. Any other suggestions?

same things
i have the same problem, try to fix it with and post comment thanks

Well, I put some paper on the side of the battery so it will be pushed better even though I don't think it's unstable.

I had the same Problems with the contact and thats why i got random reboots and percentage jumps.
Another Problem could be that your battery is defect, but i don't think so. On how much Mhz is your phone running, some persons got problem with 145mhz at the lowest cpu settings.

Should be in the top of the battery and not in the sides battery terminal is in the buttom of the battery so adding something in the top will often do the work
Sent from my Find 5 using XDA Premium HD app

Yeah, that's exactly what I did (so the battery pines will be pushed).
I hope it will solve the problem
What's the chance it's a ROM issue?

I have had this problem, but it has only occured to me at the lock screen, and I do the same thing; shut the screen off and turn it back on. Not a big thing, but it definately does get annoying.
There is another thread about a digitizer problem for the Ace, and this is probably the cause.
Thread right here ----> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1553042
Check it out and see what they say.... I'm too lazy to read hahaha :silly:
I don't really know the solution, but hopefully this helps
Sorry to reply on ace forrum.. bt even i experiemced this.. I tried changing the kernel with different custom roms..but all efforts in vain.
So now flashed official samsung firmware through odin..even now the same problem exists with the touchscreen.
I reckon the problem may be more related to the digitizer thingy.
Last option now remained for me is to get phone checked for a hardware problem.
Anywz thanx guys..will update about it after giving it to service!!

Galaxy Ace touchscreen not responding
Hi everybody!
I have a big problem with my Galaxy Ace. Since this morning, the touch screen not respondig.
The problem started last night, the touch screen didnt worked, but at that time I could fix with lock-unlock.
I havent power it off since last night, and since this morning it doesnt work, cant help restarting, lock-unlock, I tried everything, no solution
I made a factory reset from the recovery menu, but that doesnt help
From the factory reset I also removed the cache, with no result
The interesting thing is that when I wanted to power off my phone, the power-off-menu appears, and the power-off button looks like it is active (like an unvisible finger touching it continously), but I also cant touch it.
Also doesnt respond the two touchable button below (menu and back button), but the physical buttons are working.
Its also an interesting thing, I can hardly pull down that information panel (on top), but it appears only 10% of the panel.
What do you think? What should I do? Is it an hardwer- or a softwer-side problem?
Sorry for my grammar mistakes.
Did you drop the phone accidentally ?

[Q] Galaxy S I9000 -no sound after deep sleep

Hi All,
I've got a very strange problem:
The sound on my I9000 comes and goes rather randomly (goes more often that it comes).
When I switch the phone on, I have sound, but after the phone enters a few minutes of deep sleep the sound is gone.
I have flashed it several times but the problem persists.
I took it to the repair shop the other day and they say I need a new mainboard.
Has anyone else encountered this?
What other (less major) component could be causing this?
Many thanks in advance.
Any help is appreciated.

Is there water damage to the phone or battery? Does it ever happen in specific intervals? I don't think overclocking will change anything.

No water damage ! It happens randomly. One time it happened when i rotated the screen. i was like
It hapens like 1 time in 2 days.
Will see
Hmm.. Did it have the problem when you originally bought the phone? Did it start happening anytime after changing something? Maybe dropping it? Something could be loose and moving the phone around a bit could cause the problem.
Turn it on, let it boot, then try shaking the phone, turning it, etc, and see if it powers off. Might be a loose battery or ribbon cable connection somewhere.

Xperia Z Touchscreen troubles

Hi,
Lately i am experiencing a lot of troubles while typing a message or just unlocking my lockscreen.
The touchscreen respods bad, sometimes it starts moving out of itsselve... Its really annoying to work with the phone like that...
Someone facing the same problems?
Suggestions? Fixes?
Btw. The phone is stock, nothing changed or replaced...
The onling thing i did was removing the shaterproof film (and my Sony logo )
Try repairing it with Sony's PC Companion or Sony's Update Service first.
remember to backup your stuff before proceeding.
Do full wipes.

Did you try to shut the phone down for 30 seconds and restarting it, seems to fix many unusual android issues.
I have noticed sometimes that my phone on the odd occasion does not repsond to screen press.
I am also experiencing the same problem.
Did a factory reset but still the same problem comes occasionally.. any solution ?

I've had this problem only sometimes when charging outside...When u feel that the touch isn't working as it should, put on your earphones and look out for a low buzzing sound..if u hear anything, then unplug the charger from the wall and check in another socket..hopefully the problem in my phone was that current was leaching onto the capacitive screen so if I touch just once,it registers a number of touches..hope this helps u get rid of the problem

That may be the solution to the problem you had but this isnt the problem here , it happens when whether the phone is charging or not and I think themichelanne is having the same problem.
Power off the phone with power+ vol up - wait for 1 vibrate followed by 3 vibrates and leave the phone then wait for 30 second before powering on, solved it for me....no problem in touch till now and i hope it does not come in future.
BTW This phone is really really full of problems.
Also happens to me when using some chargers
I bought my unbranded UK Xperia Z in Expansys, since I live in Portugal they sent a extra charger for the european standard socket. I had this exact same problem with it, the screen was extremely unresponsive and unprecise while charging. Now I use the charger from my old N900 and have no issues. Also, charging from a lower volt/amperage source like a computer I have no problems.
Since the capacitive screen is very sensitive, a low quality AC-DC adapter will generate issues (possibly due to the current/voltage not being 100% stable).

Im also experiencing the same problem. So annoying, especially while texting. Xperia Z's touch not proving to be how it should be.
This happens with this phone for me, and previous android phones. Usually its just the app open not responding to touch events, but my softkeys still work and I can force kill and restart whatever im doing. Sometimes I have to reset. It seems to be happening more frequently since updating to 67, but its not often enough really bother me. using a tool like romtoolbox to increase the amount of touch events android can process seems to improve it somewhat.

Have you found any solutions for this? I have been experiencing this since 4.2.2 update. I don't know what happened. Can you please explain what's wrong and what's happening? Have you got it fixed yet? My screen freezes frequently so I'm unable to use the phone.
I have been experiencing this problem since a long time. But I have found no solutions for it. I took out my screen protector and the freezing thing got to normal but still it freezes sometime, but more when the screen protector is on. I'm pretty sure this problem is caused by the screen or the android farmware. I'm downgrading my OS, please reply to this. Mine is C6602. C6603 doesn't experience any problems like that.
How I fixed my Xperia Z5 touch screen
Hi everyone,
So, my Z5 touch screen was not working at all anymore, I have tried every manipulation recommended on the internet but did not succeed to get it working that way.
Here is what I did to get it fixed eventually:
- Installed sony companion
- Launched the "fix software" program (I don't know the exact name of the program in english)
- Followed the steps (took a while, something like two hours)
Then my phone rebooted, but nothing, still the same issue. Tried taking off the sim card, rebooted and same problem. Then, I put it back in the phone, and for some reason, the touch screen decided to work again. Although, I lost a lot of data in the process, but worth it.
I don't know if it is a general fix, but on my phone it just worked that way. Although, I have noticed that my phone started overheating something like two weeks before the touch screen problem appeared, I assume those two problems are linked in some way. Still did not find any fix for the overheating problem except putting it under cool water or let it cool down for 10 minutes.
I hope I helped with my post, good luck for those who are experiencing this issue.

i just made a post regarding this earlier tonight = / and the car mode is now happening to me now. I called htc support like 5 hours ago and they were absolutely no help at all. "reboot your phone into safe mode" did that "is the problem still occurring?" why yes it is still not charging when on... then they say it must be a hardware problem and to use my warranty and thanked me for my patience and please continue using htc.
I dont know why they have tech support that does not know how to support a recent common occurring problem. I don't even mind the warranty phone as much but i just took a ton of photos and videos the last month and i cant even back them up to my computer now.

Hey after reading through that other thread i did what they said about turning off the developer options and fast boot and it seems to be charging when plugged into the wall but it still will not connect to the computer. Also seems like the car mode is not turning on any more and after resetting it a few times earlier the apps do not open in landscape. So the only issue that remains is the usb connection to the computer although the whole situation is still ridiculous and i do not know how htc wants to pass it off as a hardware issue = / if you find a solution please let me know.

After I restart my phone by pressing volume down key and power key with charger plugged in, it starts to charge and also charge when connected to pc but pc wont detect it. No USB drive no syn manager. (note- I dont not enter bootloader by restarting. just leave power and volume down key immediately after screen is off, else u will get in Bootloader.)
I cant even root.
Any way I think i will sell this phone if no problem occurs.
Regards,
Also if i change any setting regarding USB connection type or developers option or fast boot option and charging stops and i have to again plug in charger and start with power and volume down key.
Other than that some problems keep rising like speaker get on automatically when i take call , dial screen rotates, it keep asking "complete action with day dream or Tunein radio"

Doesn´t seem to be too unsusual.
My phone (unrooted) began with the not charging problem after about three weeks. There is also a notification telling that I should connect a charger that is supported (shouldn't the original charger from HTC be supported). About at the same time it also decided that all apps should run in landscape mode and it at the same time become a painful thing to answer the phone by routine as it decided to activate the loudspeaker.
The problems are however quite intermittent and disappears and comes back without any known trigger.
I had the device on service when they updated firmware, run what ever tests they run and tried to charge it. All tests passed and I got it back. Everything seemed ok but day two the phone refused to charge again. Back to the store again where they also tried to charge but (luckily enough) got the same result as I.
It seems like if the battery is totally drained, the device starts charging after some while. Before it starts charging as it should, the red light goes on and off for some time.
I have exactly the same symptoms with my HTC One. It does not change until it's fully empty and turned off. Then it does change. The orange LED blinks 5 times and after that it start blinking very slowly.
I sended my phone on repair. True a webportal Im able to see any progression. I noticed they also uploaded a photo, see attachment.
It clearly seems to be missing a small element on the motherboard. (near the arrow). What I find weird thought, is that it seems to be the head of the phone and not the bottom near the USB port.
They also had some trouble opening the device as you can see between the two white stickers on the bottom of the phone. I'll keep you posted on any progression...

It didn`t always start charging. Sometimes I have had to plug the connector in 10 or 20 times before anything happened. Otherwise it did not start charging until the battery was completely drained.
Everytime it does not charge, the little icon in the left corner tells me that I should connect a supported device.
I sent a question to HTC support about the problem and got the recommendation to send it to a repair center (where it already is) and they actually gave an answer on my question if HTC are aware about the problems. The answer was "We know about it and work on a solution".
Interesting if that actually is true and not just a too quick answer from someone that wanted to close the case at the a technical support.
Has anybody else asked the question?
Any one having charging and USB problem with HTC One had ever charged his/her phone by any other charger (not the charger u get in box) even for once ? I did that all the time !!!
Yeah, I always used a Samsung charger with mine and it works a treat, I just sent mine back to my network provider and they sent it off for repair, obviously, they put it down as a hardware issue and replaced the damaged device with a refurbished device which I don't care about because of rather have one that works than not
