[Q] Need help with CyanogenMod 9 - Nexus One Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I finally rooted my Nexus one recently. And I wanted to flash the unofficial cyanogen mod 9 ics to my phone. Because I needed a larger Hboot partition I flashed an ICS hboot (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1637166) . I then flashed the rom i wanted and all looked okay. But i booted my phone up and now it just freezes on the boot animation? someone please help me, this is driving me crazy...

Stupid question, but did you do a factory reset after installation?

Try the proccess again, something bad may have happened during your flash.

Nexus One ATT and the Cyanogenmod

Hi, i have the n1 with the att 3g band and i am looking to root and to install the Cyanogenmod, however i am kinda afraid to do this because i wanna make sure that the radio will still work OK after the mod.
My logic is that the Cyanogenmod was created when the n1 only existed with the t-mobile 3g band and i wanna make sure that before i do the mod that the phone will still work ok with the att 3g bands
Thank You
Alex
Yes it will work. Many people have already flashed the mod with no issues. You do not need to flash the radio since you have the newest one already, and flashing radio might get you a nice looking brick.

thank you
what are the advantages of installing the mod on the phone, whats the differences between the stock and the Cyanogenmod?
um main thing besides all the supported root apps..
SPEED! and the ability to pretty much do anything with your device..
May the Root be with you.

Cyanogenmod on AT&T/Rogers Nexus One
Hi,
I just got my Nexus One today and put Amon_RA Recovery 1.6.2 on it then flashed Cyanogenmod 5.0.5.1 and it froze on the splash screen for 10 minutes. Didn't go to an animated boot screen or anything. I did a full wipe before flashing.
I am still able to get to the recovery mode... so I am glad I don't have a brick already; but I am curious how to get CM working.
I also flashed gapps-passion-EPE54B-signed.zip
Anybody else have any trouble? I am going to try a Modaco ROM before trying a stock one.

I am having this same problem with my AT&T Nexus One. The only difference is that I used 1.7.0 of Amon_RA's recovery.

Many people have had this problem... I had this with my TMo N1... and it has been discussed in the CM thread... but here's the quick workaround...
Wipe, flash CM 5.0.5, flash CM 5.0.5.1, flash GApps
Cyanogenmod on AT&T/Rogers Nexus One - WORKING!!
I went to Modaco here to get his kitchen of the CyanogenMod ROM:
http://android.modaco.com/content-p...nmod-5-for-nexus-one-online-kitchen/page/560/
I just grabbed the pre-baked file.
I flashed Amon_RA 1.7.0 beforehand.
Wiped everything
Flashed CM 5.0.5.1 from Modaco
Wiped again
Fix APK UID
Reboot
Working!
Good to know, I was wondering that.
My Nexus one is in the mail right now
Can't wait!
N1 arrives -> gets warm -> gets charged -> gets Amon_RA =)

[Q] Accidentally flashed stock ROM while rooted and S-OFF - HELP PLEASE!

Hello, my name is Jaro.
I have a problem with my Inc S. I used to have stock 2.3.3 ROM, but yesterday I decided to s-off, put CWM and root my device. I tested Cyanogenmod 7, went good, but my main goal was to put in the stock update to 2.3.5 with sense 3.0. Unfortunatelly, I forgot to unroot my device or whatever else need, so after flashing it with RUU my phone could not boot, only green logo on white background and nothing else. Recovery had no result but red triangle with exclamation mark.
I've tried many ways of getting my phone back to shape, but all of them failed. After 4 hours of hopeless wandering, I ask for help.
How to bring back my IncS to life after flashing stock ROM? I think I need to bring it the stock recovery (dunno how to do it exactly, tried many options), then either S-ON and flash the ROM, or flash the ROM and S-ON.
I am forced to used old Symbian-esque Nokia, so please help!
Hi Jaro,
Did you see the FAQ at the top of the forum? 2nd question/answer should fix you up.

Use the new hboot. Perform a full wipe of everything...
Follow the instructions carefully....down to the last word. It should work out just fine. I had installed this rom (perhaps a prior version of it) a few months ago without any issues. So, I do not see any reason why you cannot either.
if you do all above including system wipe and it still hangs, it may just be too many bad blocks. not uncommon for some on sense/desire roms

[Q] Custom ROMs dont work

Hello guys,
my friend has a Galaxy S Advanced GT-9070, and he had really bad stock ROM which came built in with the phone,
and i wanted to upgrade his ROM for MIUI or whatever..
So I flashed him CWM and tried some ROMs.
The ROMs flashed properly, but the phone got stuck on the boot logo each time I tried to turn it on.
I did wait a long time, about 2 hours, and I do have experience (successful one) with flashing ROMs on other phones.
Do you have any idea what the problem could be?
Any kind of help will be appreciated. :good: :good:
Give more details.
What CWM, what ROM'S do you flashed, did you wipe all with a clean flash?

You did factory reset? And bad stock rom was? JB or GB? You can't flash JB+ ROMs over GB.
Had the same problem for months due to faulty sd card. Try a different one.

Note 5 kernel help.

Hi guys,
I'm new to the forum and I tried my best to find a solution but couldn't hopefully you guys can help me. Here the steps I took to root, flash ROM and kernels on my note 5.
I first installed TWRP recovery and it was successful. I was able to boot my phone. After few hours some apps start to open by themselves so decided to root it again but this time I thought about installing a new ROM as well. Flashed my phone with Crisscross note7 ROM and found out that it erased my OS after digging found out the guy didn't update his post regarding crisscross problems. So I tried installing Minotauros ROM it was successful but now my phone is stuck at the SAMSUNG logo and keeps vibrating occasionally.
Hope you guys can help me get this fixed today. I have no other phone to play with
Edit: I let it boot for almost an hour after installing the ROM for the first time so I don't think I interrupted the process.

Sounds like a kernel issue. Try to find another one. Some kernels aren't patched for the new ux roms

Indeed it was. I thought arter97's kernel did support UX roms but apparently it doesn't. I unzipped Jim2sad's kernel and it worked. Thanks for the help.
P.S. Had to play a lot around to figure this out XD
