[Q] Does deodexing reduces performance? - Xperia SP Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Is there any other way to flash mods in Xperis SP without deodexing??
i have read it some where, it is also less stable than odexed rom. Is it??

My rom is deodexed & i have not noticed any lags or issues.

me too.. deodexed today and no such lags experienced..i think it's pretty safe :good:

Deodexing only affects the time it takes to boot for the first time

well thanks.:good: i think i am gonna deodex too.:fingers-crossed:
Can some one guide me on deodexing process. I am not familiar with it.

Deodex does reduce the performance, but the SP is fast enough to negate it.

[ROM]29.12.2011 2.3.6 Deodexed XXKL3/XXKL7 tweaked to the max with Abyss kernel 2.3

Hallo flashers, i wanted to share this kl3 rom with you, i wanted the my sam rom but its whas to lite for me, so i tweaked the rom of eybee1970 with my sam tweakes and Darky build.prop tweakes. So first of all thanks for sharing there work.
No pictures because its stocked theme.
I added Abyss 2.3 kernel because i think that is the most stable one. Also thanks to kernel dell'AbyssNote angelom for his work.
installation do a full wipe and flash with cwm.

thx alot man will be trying your rom for sure
KL3 is good basic
I am using it now for 2 days and not one problem. You can always flash abyss 2.5. But think 2.3 is for me the best. still 30% to go.

What is the difference between this and stock?
Where is the development?
Download link?
Everything works for me, differents is thats is tweaked and different build.prop, mix my sam and darky rom. The development is only added the tweakes.
I found out that almost every custom rom has a bug and the performance not better than a tweaked stock rom. Nothing beats a tweaked stock rom. Its so stable and smooth. kl3 is realy smoother than kka.
This is a full rom and not lite because i think if you want it lite than you can remove the apps you want. Is better than to flash a lite rom and you have to find and ad apps. So lite roms i do not understand, lite is not faster. Just running apps are making your rom slow.
..so link?

Light rom for me is that one havent the useless apps which running in backround all the time draining the battery or using lot of RAM (for example samsung apps) and normal users dont know delete/frozen them.
So lite rom isnt bad for my opinion but u must upload the missing apps too...

So...
Basically, what you are saying is that you have taken a ROM, then taken a kernel, then taken a build.prop and packaged them.
WOW. You must be an Android God!
You have not created one single thing of your own. There is nothing in this ROM that is original to you.
No development at all.
That is sad. Very sad.

Why didn't you fix it? Why was it even broken in the first place?
Ask a Mod to close this, before you get embarrassed.

[Q] SIII 4G i9305 CRT OFF for XXBLL5

Hi,
I'm using XXBLL5 offical ROM with Perseus 32.1 on my SIII 4G.
I want to add CRT-OFF mod.
I tried this mod: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1940007 but unfortunately, it doesn't work. S3 is blocked on boot.
Someone has a solution for enabling it in this configuration ?
Thanks
regards,

i'm also looking for this mod, but no luck so far, tried the link mentioned above a while back and same issue, stock on boot
only one working is the jkay mod, but i really don't need all that stuff just to get the crt off mod

Hi,
Thanks for your answer.
I'm exactly in the same case. I just would like this mod.
Did you test with last XXBMA3 and XXBMA6 ? Is it the same ?
regards,
just BMA3, same boot loop
BMA6 didn't test it yet, but the changes between these roms are almost insignificant, so i don't think it will work
and the mod from your link is already 2-3 months old, so slim chances to be compatible with 2k13+ roms
you can try this, but be sure to make a nandroid backup before, the effect works, but unfortunetly on my phone is interfeering with some other mods and the system apps keep crashing, making it impossible to use the phone
maybe you are more lucky
replace the file from the archive with the ones in /system/framework
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=37539283&postcount=92
I assume yous are using an odexed rom. Most of these mods will be done for a deodexed base so you could try and delete both android.policy.odex and services.odex from system/framework then flash the mod.

It is from SGS II forum so maybe it won't work on stock, but hey - make nandroid and test
EDIT: Now I feel quite dumb I installed mod for SGS II on our LG, but... it works, who could want possibl something else
EDIT: And so far battery is fantastic
EDIT: Some guys in OP say that it isn't SGS II specific MOD but rather an android as whole system tweaking engine

It depends on the piece of string I believe.
I run stock with DoomKernal & a few Xposed Modules. Or Cyanogenmod / AOKP. But with anything but stock you run the risk of something not working correctly. It depends on the string like I said.

Playing around with voltages etc. in the Kernel, screen brightness, unused services results in pretty good battery times. For best battery results it's best to stay stock. Cyanogen and AOKP are not great on battery at the moment (from what i've read)

If you want Samsung's original JB you can try I9070ITVLQ3 (with I9070XXLQG baseband), but you have to root it, debloat (ie eliminate unnecessary apps, you can find a guide to do it and root on xda) and change kernel (for stock rom I prefer CoCore). For now the best is CM10.1 by Team Canjica, you can also try CM10.2 by the same team.

Is it ddulp8, not ddlup8?
Download this: http://d-h.st/GxG
You need custom recovery. Do you have CoCore kernel installed? If you do, go to recovery (power on phone with VolumUP+Home+Power buttons hold at the same time untill you fill some vibration). There go to Install from SD card, if you put that zip in internal, and install it. Do the same with that crt mod.
More explanation - what you need before using mod:
1. ROOT.
2. CoCore.
For first install of CoCore do this: Install Universal kernel flash, and some explorer with root permissions like Root explorer or ES file explorer. Download CoCore zip, unpack it and use kernel.bin.md5 file with Universal kernel flash. After that you will get CWM or TWRP (depends what CoCore version you choose). From that part you can install CRT off MOD by installing its zip from recovery.

Yes i did. Before i upgraded my phone to jellybean, everything was so smooth on gb, multitasking, gaming performance are really better on gb when compared to jellybean. My phone still can run smoothly even though i have installed 50 ++ apps when im on gb ,but not anymore when im on jellybean. So the stability, gaming performance and multitasking performance are better in gb. If upgrade to jellybean u can get to experience a newer firmware but at the cost of some performance degradation. But actually jellybean also not that bad just will become laggier when ur system becomes heavy and bad multitasking performance only. Also as soon as u upgraded to jellybean, u can get to flash any custom rom available which will help u to solve the lag problem.

In terms of performance, you can just try to upgrade to JB, root it and then you can try any kernel customization which tweaks the performance too.
And to think that i9070s will get any further update than JB, it would be impossible...it just is
