Stock Rom or CM10 - Galaxy S III Mini Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Tell me which one is better.
I use my phone mainly to play little bit games, going on Facebook and surfing but this rom consumes too much battery.
Also we are probably not getting jellybean 4.3.
Sent from my GT-I8190 using xda app-developers app

We're getting just 4.2.2 that's officially known, if u want more performance get cm 10.1 if u want more battery stay on stock, don't know why it battery on stock get drain so fast for me stock rom is giving 12-13 hours of 3G

I used Maclaw's CM 10.1 a couple of days ago and it is very efficient with memory use, but I flashed dmod rom again because of some bugs that i found in CM rom and it just made hard for me to surf the web, be on facebook, twitter, whatsapp some things crashed (at least in my case), but with the battery drain issue i recommend CM 'cause it takes care of it more than stock.

[Q] Froyo ROM

I know that people generally hate these kind of threads but despite reading around in the ROM forums, I am just more and more confused.
I am looking to upgrade my stock Eclair to Froyo, but I am confused as to which ones are good or not.
Basically because my phone is primarily for business use the things I want in order of importance are:
Stability, battery life, speed, bluetooth support. I don't care for all the social networking crap. I need something that is VERY simple to flash (step by step on Doc's ROM are great).
Any comments would be greatly appreciated.
Hi,
To be honest nearly all roms come with the standard features like bluetooth working etc, due to them all being based on samsung releases. Only the cyanogen rom and varios other attempts at ports will leave you dry in that area.
As far as battery life goes, what is your like now? how much do you use it?
I have been using doc's 7.5 rom for a few weeks now and i get this result on quadrant basic

I keep the battery life right by using the super power program and making sure when the screen is off, wifi, bluetooth and 3g are also off. I have rss feeds coming down all the time also.rss is a bit hungry on power but I can get a good day of medium to heavy use out of it.
As far as stability goes the rom is excellent, never had a force close yet!
I would strongly suggest going up to 2.2, hope this helps
Thanks for the reply. I can get around 2 days depending on how much I use it, on a really very very heavy usage day I may need to charge at about 8-9pm

galaxianEE vs semaphore

hi guys
so what's the best kernel between these 2and why
thanks
You can flash both of these very easily using sgs flasher. Try each in turn and make your own mind up, it really depends on what apps you use and your own usage patterns.
Sent using TCP/IP
what would you use to play games (with chainfire etc..)
I personally have used both, latest Semaphore and GalaxianEE (I came from GT) and I personally still like GalaxianEE.
While not being able to overclock, it personally is the only kernel I've managed to use that love lower voltages, and I have managed to get my phone running at 50 hours

I've also managed to stretch it all the way to 96 hours before LOL, but I didn't take a screenie of that.
well the best part of this is that u can flash any of this kernels im prefer semaphore
more stable
thank you guys
i allready tried semaphore 1.9.0 but it lags sometimes .
i think i'm gonna go with galaxianEE for the battery life
beside those 2 , is there any other good kernels that support OC/UV
JVT of course.

Refer to poll on top. Personally I've tried a few of those and Galaxian is more of my thing, Absolutely stable with -225mv on 100 mhz
its decided .galaxianEE it is.
thanks for your help.
No problem. Here's a screenie of stable voltages for mine, may or may not work for you but just as reference I suppose
thank you
i will try this
BTW, what rom are you using ?

[Q] Huge battery drain

Hello XDA community. I bought my HTC One about 5 days ago and I have noticed a really bad battery drain.
I know this isn't the first thread complaining about this issue, 'cause the first thing I did was search for a fix to this problem. Sadly none of the solutions I found worked for me.
When I use the phone like a normal person would do (Browse some web pages, check facebook, listen to music etc.) the phone discharges really fast (Like 1 percent per two minutes or three). And when I leave the screen off the battery doesn't consume that fast (I left my phone uncharging when I went to sleep and after 10 hours it took about 10 percent of the battery which I think is pretty acceptable)
I've tried:
- Calibrating the battery (http://forums.androidcentral.com/ve...ry-charger-reset-procedure-htc-one-m7-m8.html)
- Using AppsOpps to prevent Google Play Services from waking up the device.
- Using Greenify to hibernate the apps that may drain the battery.
- Using Amplify to manage and edit/disable wakelocks, alarms and services.
Basically everything in this thread (http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/general/guide-extreme-battery-life-t3095884)
- Changing the ROM
- Flashing a new Kernel
- Perform a Factory Reset.
I'm currently using the AndroidRevolutionHD Rom based on Sense 6 running Android 5.0.2 and using the ElementalX kernel.
Here are some screenshots of my battery usage:

Wifi reception signal is too low..

I'm using Mackay CM9 Rom and the wifi signal in this old little beast is too low when compared to any other phone in my house.
Is anybody else experiencing similar issues?
I'm on i9000XXJVT baseband BTW.
Thank you.

Check in the WiFi settings if you can check the asian frequencies. I don't remember if CM9 already features that option.

No. There's no option for that.
Does CM 12 has such option?

It should be under settings/wifi/menu/advanced, IDK if it was featured in the ICS.
I don't know about CyanogenMod options for I was not using CM since years. I never had CM12 on any device. Now I write from SlimKat (4.4.4) and the wifi region options are there, look at the screenshot. I wouldn't go much further than 4.3 on the i9000 BTW, it gets quite laggy. CM9 was much faster than later ROMs for it has just fragment of the size.

Try Chrome BETA, and see if it does the same, if not, remove the BETA and install the stable one again, if the same drain happens again then it's a chrome issue and not your device.
I am facing the same issue and dont know how to solve It. Tried Chrome Beta and battery consumption even multiplied.... Hope It can be solved.
Hi guys, did you solve the problem somehow? I have same problem since few hours

I did what @Inpain suggest. Thank you by the way! It works fine for me(installing the beta version of chrome).
I still think that the Mi 11 battery is not so good. I became from a Oneplus 6t and the battery on this device was incredible.
this issue is still there for me
i tried chrome
chrome beta
brave which is based on chrome
different MIUI Battery settings.. nothing
I know that when we use a browser since a long time, it's difficult to try another one.
Chrome as some qualities but it's not battery friendly for smartphone.
You should try samsung browser. Very fluid and with good features. And battery friendly !
I think that samsung browser is really suitable for smartphone.
Yet I have been using firefox for years on my computer but it is really bad on my phone for exemple.
its not usually Chrome it will be a website that Chrome is idling on.. usually FB or instagram etc. Check permitted Notifications from Chrome too.
