[Q] Not flashing ROM correctly? - One (M7) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi XDA-Devs
New to Android and flashing ROMs, and I I'm afraid I've done something wrong. I flashed to a Google Edt. custom ROM, and worked fine. I forgot to do something ith my old stock ROM, so I wanted to install my backup I made with twrp recovery, but I think I deleted it when I did a data wipe. So I DL'ed Mike1986's HTC One stock ROM and flashed it, and installed the stock recovery.
Now when I turn on my phone, I start on an window saying "A personalize update is available". What worries me is the popup notifications saying "Ufortunately, Talk has stopped", "Messages has stopped unexpectedly", "Unfortunately, Google Play has stopped", "com.android.phone has stopped unexpectedly" and the last one saying "com.android.acore has stopped unexpectedly". The last one constantly pops up each time I press the "Don't send" button when it asks me if I want to make a report.
Can anyone please help me understand all this? Tried googling around, but haven't found any having the same problem. Hope someone can help an new and helpless android user.

Boot into recovery, do a wipe/factory reset, wipe the Dalvik cache and format /system, then flash ARHD (I assume that's what you're referring to when you said the ROM by Mike1986) and that should fix it. It sounds like you've just flashed a different base without properly wiping beforehand.

I used the odexed version before. ARHD isn't a stock ROM, right?

ARHD is a deodexed custom-rom with stock appearance.

[Q] X-Bean 3.0 - Different partition layout

Greetings. So I never had any issues when flashing new ROMs into my Galaxy S GT-I9000...until now.
Three days ago I went on and started reading topics explaining how to install Android 4.1.2 (Ive picked X-Bean 3.0). One of these topics mentioned I had to install Android 4.0.3 and after that I had to install Semaphore Kernel 1.3.0...and so I did. I've also did all the proper factory resets and cache wipes.
Everything was running smoothly, until I proceeded to install Android 4.1.2. When I went on and was trying to install it, an error message appeared saying the partition layout was different, so I chose the file again and when the phone booted up it kept rebooting endlessly. After that I used Darkys ROM to fix the issue and followed all the way until I ended with Android 4.0.3 again.
The curious thing is that I had flashed my father I9000 before and everything worked out and he has the 4.1.2 version working.
So after extensive search about how to fix the problem and trying the explained solutions, nothing seemed to work. Hence I decided to post here and ask if there's anything I missed or did wrong. If yes, I would be relly thankful if anyone could help me find a solution for it.
Resuming, these were the steps Ive followed until I ended up with Android 4.0.3:
1 - Enter CWM and make a Factory Reset, Wipe Cache, Wipe Dalvik Cache
2 - Install .zip from sdcard>ICS_4.0.3_MR1-RC4.2_I9000
3 - Install .zip from sdcard>Semaphore_ICS_1.3.0s
Thank you
EDIT:
I just installed a new Semaphore version (2.8.0), and now when I try to install X-Bean 3-0, the following message is shown:
"E: error in/sdcard/external_sd/Android 4.1.2.zip

Just install the 4.1.2 zip and then the right kernel without flashing ics before
Redownload the Rom zip and try again
Tell me back if it helped or not

So I tried that, and at first no error message displayed, but at like 2% of the progress bar the phone rebooted and is now stuck on the Semaphore logo, even before I installed it.

[Q] PA CM 10 Note Will Not Boot Past Animation.

Hey,
I have been using CM10 Paranoid Android since it came out on the Note, I am on 2.51 version.
Yesterday my SD Card wouldn't mount so I rebooted the phone, after the reboot it got stuck on the animation (Jelly Bean Android). So I rebooted it again and this time it booted, but every application was 'Not Responding' I couldn't even get to the lock screen.
Ever since then I can't boot it up it stays on the Jelly Bean Man animation. Keep in mind I didn't install any apps, I didn't update the Rom since it came out ( a few months ), it just randomly stopped working.
I am wondering what to do.
Thank you.
Start with cleaning cache and dalvik cache in your recovery.

If you have a backup of your Rom (made in recovery) and/or backups of your Apps (made with Titanium Backup):
Factory reset and reinstall this Rom or install another (JB stock) Rom.
If you do not have backups:
Factory reset and reinstall this Rom or install another (JB stock) Rom.
And be sorry, that you didn't make backups.

Do you have any idea what happened? It was so spontaneous. I have a back up of the ROM, however it was before I installed APPS, and TB didn't work on my phone so I could never back them up.
So factory reset is the only way?

If TB never worked there was already something wrong with your configuration.
No, I don't have an idea what could be wrong - only hoping that it isn't a hardware problem.
Yes, that's why I would install a stock JB rom with PC Odin first: if this succeeds you'll have working configuration again - if if fails we can analyze the errors in PC Odin.

[Q] verizon g2 rom install problem

anytime i try to install a rom the phone will get stuck at multiple "process has stopped working" notifications that just keep repeating. the only way to get anything to work is to go back to a stock rom. am i missing something? i have twrp 2.6.3.3 installed

Did you dirty flash it? When switching roms, ALWAYS wipe data/cache/dalvik before installing any rom. If you are at stock and switching to a non stock based rom, definitely wipe data/cache/dalvik, or else you will run into problems just like this.

Sounds like you are not wiping system, are you?
I always full wipe any ROM, you especially want to going to stock from aosp or vice versa.
Go Intl advance wipe and clear cache, dalvek, system, and data.
NEVER wipe internal

Google voice search making my phone unusable

I've tried flashing slim rom and paranoid Android and all do the same thing. As soon as Google apps are installed the Google voice search prompt pops up repeatedly. It disables calling and also all sounds. I have turned it off in Google settings best I could and it still keeps happening. It has essentially made my nexus 6 unusable. And since I need the Google app I don't know what to do. Anyone seen this problem before? I am guessing it is not rom specific as it happens on all I have tried. Help severely needed

When I flashed a different ROM there were always issues when I did not a wipe in TWRP recovery (factory reset).
I have cleared data and cache along with a system wipe. Any thing else I can try to wipe?

In TWRP there is a message about wiping.
When you did that it is OK.
Effect should be that after booting the new rom, you need to completely setup the device again (setup wizard).
When there are still issues it could be a corrupt download.
I'll try to be more clear here.
I have done a factory reset (system, data, cache, dalvik) from TWRP.
I install new rom (chroma, paranoid, slim, and a stock build)
Boot up phone, complete setup wizard.
"Listening" prompt from google voice search starts popping up repeatedly, over and over no matter what I am doing on the phone.
I disable google voice search, doesn't matter, continues to pop up.
In the meantime it disables all sounds on the phone and I cannot place a call/take a call.
Again, this is the same actions that happen regardless of what rom I have installed, even after doing the reset.
Try changing the GApps package you flash after your ROMs.
I'm guessing you've been using the same GApps with each ROM you listed. Download another GApps and use that instead in a clean flash of a given ROM.
Good luck!
(One more thought: You could try clean flashing a ROM with a built-in GApps and see if that works...)

There are two important options in TWRP.
WIPE and FORMAT.
You have installed several different roms. The memory could be messed up.
A format could help.
The last suggestion I can do is: back to stock.
Flash a factory image.
Leave bootloader unlocked.
Check if the issue is gone when the stock rom is set up.
Than choose a custom rom, start with Chroma.

What do I format? System? It doesn't seem to be a Google specific problem as even with Google not installed the phone just hangs up when I dial a number and sound doesn't work. It went away on its own about an hour after start up and I've been good for a week. Now just this morning it started doing it again. The volume turned itself up a notch and boom no sound on video can't call anyone. It's very strange, and must be a deep rooted issue as it is across all roms. The only difference with Google now installed is the listening prompt popping up constantly. Without its just what I listed above.

Revert back to stock (e.g. with Wug's nexus root Toolkit), leave bootloader unlocked. Then reflash your things and see if problem persists. If it does, try TK GApps and don't install Google App (per gapps-config.txt).

My 3T factory reset after flash super su

Hello !
At first I apologize for my English, I am French.
So i used the custom ROM Validus and this problem appears for every ROM. Like you know, when you root, you can't use snapchat and u need to login before you root your phone. So i installed Validus, i install all apps i need and login (included snapchat) but after that when i flash super su, my phone reset and i have a error message which flashes. In the message i have ".com.android" something and i'm obliged to shutdown the phone, reset the phone and re-install the ROM.
And this appears with all ROM (Tesla, Tuga etc...) and i don't know how can i use snapchat acutally.
I tried to disable super user in the app, doesnt work
I saw we can use xposed app but for 7.1.1, it's not possible actually
Any ideas ?
Thanks,
Snapchat discorvers root as it denies working on it. After flashing install snapchat and login. Then return to recovery and install SU afterwards. Possibly you have to use tools like RootCloak.

It's what i tried to do (without RootCloak) and when i do that, i lost all my data (like i wipe all data when i try to install SU...) but RootCloak works for 7.1.1 ? Because i already tried to flash Xposed, doesnt work (error 1)
Try SUHide. Though the data wipe seems odd.

I tried to flash suhide after flash ROM, doesnt work, the ROM don't charge (the loading of the ROM don't stop)
PS : I tried with Validus ROM and others, same things
Here's a workaround for Nexus 6. Maybe it's working on 3T as well. Something else I found here.
Nevertheless, the auto data wipe is strange. Did you clean or dirty flash?

I don't know what is dirty flash ? What i know is i alway wipe all data before install any custom ROM
But I found a solution. I installed Root Swich, it's a simple app which allows to deactivate the root and activate it as you want.
So i disabled root and install snapchat and login successfully.
But i want to understand why when i want to flash super su for any custom ROM i have a auto data wipe :/
Since your device is beyond my reach I can't help investigating the problem. Maybe the data is not really deleted but r/w permissions have just been modified and cannot be accessed any more. But anyway, I'm glad your found a workaround.

Thanks for your help anyway !
Now I just need someone who knows how can i fix the problem of data. Cause if one day i will need to flash something, it's gonna wipe the data of my phone
Maybe if i do a clean factory reset or something ? Cause i used my 3T a lot cause of this to find a solution so maybe something happenned when i tried so many things. (Test of ROM etc ...)
I have more information, when I install any custom ROM and after that I want to flash super su, wipe cache etc ... I boot on the ROM normally but i see my phone haved a factory reset and i have this ".com.android.phone has stopped" Impossible to remove the message and I am forced to wipe again data and reinstalll the ROM.
Conclusion : I can install ROM but after that, i can not do anything, if i do anything, BOUM, reset factory. And i don't understand why ....
I tried the last (Unofficial) TWRP but when i tried to boot on the ROM after flashing it, my phone didn't boot on the ROM but always on TWRP.
Maybe I brick my phone but i can use it, i don't have storage problem or others so ...
I'm lost ... Any ideas ?

Do you have this issue with only flashing super su or try to boot into recovery don't do anything and reboot check if it still reset everything.
Which recovery you are using?
The version

I have this issue only flashing super su, when i try to boot into recovery and then reboot into the ROM, nothing happened.
I use 3.0.3.1, when i tried 3.0.4.0 and flash a ROM, the phone only boot on recovery and not into the ROM
I'm actually having a similar issue. One day my phone was acting weird and I had to force reboot. I noticed after that I lost root. I've tried flashing SuperSU again, and it flashes fine but I still don't get root. This morning I upgraded to 4.0.3, and tried flashing root, and same thing no root.
The weirdest part is I can flash a custom kernel with TWRP 3.0.3.1 and the kernel flashes fine and I have the custom kernel, if I try flashing SuperSU, it flashes fine but I get no root AND it removes the custom kernel!!! Everything I'm using is the most updated too. What gives? I want root back....
