[Q] Installing Stock apps after custom ROM - Sprint HTC One (M7)

What would be the easiest OR is there a way to install some of the stock system apps after flashing a ROM like Cm or another AOSP. I'm mostly looking for the radio, camera and beats.

Those apps need the sense framework to work. That's the trade off when moving to aosp. The camera is out for the time being unless someone can get some kernel code to make it work. The other apps may have close alternatives on the play store. And beats is not much more than a modified equalizer. Aosp has DSP manager that you can tweak yourself to get the sound you want.

Thanks That's what I thought
I came from the Nexus S4G so I never noticed any stock app changes when flashing.

If we cross our fingers, maybe aosp/CM will get access to some of the HTC proprietary kernel source or a close alternative to get the camera working better. Other Sense apps seem to have similar alternatives, so going through the effort of porting them seems slim.

Camera works fine for me in ICS mostly. Can't take pictures from rear camera with the standard camera app, but that is it.
As for the fix... just grab a recent version of CM9

Samsung contact app in CM10

I'm using CM10 NIGHTLY in my Note.
Unfortunately, I don't like the contact app.
Is it possible to get the original Samsung contact app, and use it with CM10?
If so, can anyone get it?
Thanks a lot

Using a accurate thread title may help you get a response.

I guess you cant
Try some third party app with tw theme
You can't use touchwiz apps in cm based roms as they rely on the touchwiz framework.

[Q] What are some ideas of ROM's to build that we don't have?

Tell me on this thread if you know any!
Apant taught be how to build from source, so I'm taking any challenges.

Wow there, I'm not that good, I'm still a beginner, and plus the building from source didn't go well, so I'm gonna ask Apant for more help.
A fully working Miui Gingerbread would be cool.
Toasted marshmallow ROM would be nice
You could always try a Sense rom. LOL.

All the devs did, but weren't successful because of compatibility issues with the hardware. :L
I know, I saw that too. That's why I laughed. I agree with a fully working g GB Miui.

Lol great minds think alike. some features like tilt scrolling, floating windows or maybe a spit screen browser, and the video player like in cams last rootbox build, add a playstore opion on the launcher, add the new s-voice, leave Google search optional and not an system app since I find useless via bluetooth at the moment does the same thing as voice dialer, an alarm clock widget, and that cell broadcast feature. would be awsome.

I heard liquidsmooth is really good and with a matr1x kernel it is amazing. I've also heard (if you want kernel suggestions) that franco kernels are legit.
Yea but franco doesn't make kernels for this phone

Emoji On HTC One

Was wondering if anyone is able to see emoji on their HTC One. I'm coming from Evo LTE and was able to see them on that phone, thought everyone was able to see emoji on JB devices
Sent from my HTCONE using xda premium
You see the little black emojis in the stock apps but not apple style. If you want apple style you have to download a third party sms client like Handcent.
All I see now is a square, no emoji. Didn't need second party app on Evo LTE. Is there a way to add the emoji fonts to system
Sent from my HTCONE using xda premium
Hmm I can see them on mine system wide

Are you rooted & if so what Rom are you using. I'm using Viper's Stock Rom on the newest build

I'm also interested in this. All I see is squares for the messaging app. Using CleanRom 2.5

I only now noticed that only some emoji work, all the characters aren't recognized. Guess that's just how it is with android phones. Better than nothing

Files to push, stuff to tweak?

Since we don't have a way to flash anything (and may never will), could there be a thread for devs and users to share stuff to manually push or tweak? I've done this with combining two themed roms from sprint and international forums, but only the themed phone, mms, contacts and touchwiz. Are there things to tweak or add that would normally be built in a rom? I would love to see a thread with some att stuff for us to work with. I would post pics and stuff but I'm not the developer so it may not be okay.

Have u had any issues with the themed apps you are using from the other carriers?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Juzt one. I've used apks from bobcat rom (international) and jellybomb (sprint). The dialer from the bobcat rom gave me fc issues when I opened the phone app so I had to use a third party dialer. The call screen and dialer works once the call is engaged so I don't know. Kinda why I'm hoping devs will share some att stuff

Great thread let's just hope people start adding to it
